The sun slowly set in the sky, and the movement of monsters within the forest died away to complete silence. The color red could be seen all around as a vast army of peasants began their journey back home while carrying their catches. It only took a day to annihilate all of the survivors of the Red Island's last few weeks. Armies led by level 6 to level 9 peasants were unstoppable and ferocious.

Bands of Slugs hung out on trees, their gooey eyes fixed on the ferocious predators they had managed to flee.

It was a bloody purge, and the fortunate ones were the ones who survived.

Because of the Peasants' hunting, most of the Slugs on this island were level 1 and 2. They had no chance to level up or evolve. Slugs of higher evolution were lurking outside the Red Island, where they could level up and become stronger. It was extremely unlikely for those stranded on Red Island.

As they marched, the thick army of peasants resembled blood flowing through the ground. They could be seen in every direction, leaving no place for land dwellers to hide or flee. When the Hell's Gates closed, this was the most likely outcome: the trapped monsters were annihilated and butchered mercilessly. And once all of the trapped monsters were eliminated, as had happened here, the peasants would try to cross the river to the other side. That meant another round of a massive war.

It was unavoidable, natural, and beneficial because nothing could have kept the Peasant evolution line's population in check better than a brutal war that would almost certainly kill thousands of them.

The cycle was simple but effective, luring monsters into the island by temporarily opening the Hell's Gates, keeping the peasants on the island. The Hell's Gates were then closed once it was determined that their numbers were increasing, forcing them to attempt to cross one of the dangerous rivers.

It would cause the strong members of the Peasant evolution line to congregate in one location, one of the rivers, to be easily taken out by the Hell's Gates warden. Once a sufficient number of Peasants had been eliminated, the warden would reopen the Hell's Gates, allowing monsters to return to the island and ensuring that the battle did not escalate into an all-out war. This would include the Peasant evolution line's higher and highest hierarchies.

If the Warden of Hell's Gates and the Queen of the Peasant Evolution Line met... It would cause a massive disaster and upheaval in this section of Kegali's vast forest.

They were currently acting as deadlocks to each other. They were both wise enough to realize that direct confrontation with one another should be avoided at all costs.

And now that the trapped monsters had been exterminated, the preparations for the Peasant evolution line to cross the rivers that surrounded the island were about to begin. Higher evolution line could be expected to show up and participate in the raid.

Eon growled as he watched an army of Peasants pass through the woods where his second home was located. Hundreds of them marched back to the Death Canyon, led by level 9 Peasants. Despite the gradually darkening sky, their red colors stood out against the green surroundings. They were carrying the bodies of various monsters, including Diviar Wolves, Small Higante Boars, Fawn Camaradeer, Slugs, rabbits, bears, and even Fledgling Sentrowls.

Eon was standing on top of a tree, waiting for the massive army to vanish while carrying the day's rich harvest. He repositioned the body of the Fawn Camaradeer he brought for dinner with his mandibles.

After a few minutes and after the darkness took over, the number of peasants passing through dwindled until there were none. The area had been cleared of peasants and was now safe to land on. Their all-out purge had come to an end.

Eon took off and flew back to his home. He flew around, double-checking his surroundings, and landed on the tall stone he had previously used as a platform to practice flying. The body of the Fawn Camaradeer was carried in his mandibles and tusks. He jumped to the ground and tossed the body he was carrying into the grass.

Eon came to a halt and summoned his status board. His gooey eyes lingered on his stats and the new skill points he'd earned by leveling up twice.

That was a productive day, and he was fortunate to be a part of it. However, it came to an end on the same day it began. They wiped out everything so quickly, as expected from the most populous species of monsters in the great forest of Kegali.

Eon started interacting with his status board and spending his newly earned skill points.

[Lethal Augmentation has received four skill points.]

[The damage output of Lethal Augmentation has increased from level 11 (595%) to level 15 (775%).]

[The damage output of [Imitation] Savage Bite has increased from level 11 (595% of strength stats) to level 15 (775%).]

Eon paused for a few seconds, slowly moving his gaze up and down his status board. He let out a soft growl, realizing his progress since his arrival in this world.

[Deceitful Shapeshifter has been activated.]

While his gaze was still fixed on his status board, he transformed into a Small Higante Boar with Slug eyes and began chomping the Fawn Camaradeer's meat. Eon had not yet finished admiring his status board. He snorted as his heavy boar head chewed, making a nodding gesture. He was capable of feeling everything, from the savory taste of the Fawn Camaradeer's meat to the reassuring sense of victory.

The satisfaction of accomplishing something and receiving a reward for it was one of the best feelings any world could offer, and because Eon could feel it, he wanted more of it.

It was so addictive that it became his motivation to continue aspire to achieve more in his life, and once he did, he craved more and more. It was one of life's natural tendencies for a person to never stop desiring more of obtaining something that made him feel alive and purposeful. In Eon's case, those were the feelings of victory and the rewards he would receive as a result of it.

It was ingrained in him not only since his birth as Eon, the seventh child of Vaas the conqueror, but also since his previous life. Being a competitive person who enjoyed the feeling of triumph was always a big part of him. After all, that was the primary reason Vaas chose him to be his seventh child.

Eon marched his massive body inside the trunk of a tree and lay down on the floor after devouring the entire Fawn Camaradeer in one sitting. He munched while slowly laying his massive head on the floor, his four feet stretched as a long groan sounded from his mouth.

After a long day, Eon fell asleep. However, a more significant event would take place the following day. A massive war was on the horizon. The Peasant evolution line was already preparing for their next attempt to cross the river surrounding the infamous Red Island. Another war would break out, and Eon would be a part of it.

Members of the higher hierarchy were about to be revealed.
