Chapter 3: [S1] Ch2: Catto #2

I was surrounded by darkness. The world was dark. I was laying down on a bed. I stayed on the emptiness. It felt a bit nice. It felt a bit good. 

[...initializing....initializing....the host is successfully saved.... installing.... installing...error...installing...100%...]

I heard a voice. The voice was a weird voice. The voice sounded so robotic. I woke up because of the voice. I slowly opened my eyes. 

I saw something. There was something floating. It was a blue screened floating television. I stared at it. The floating TV looks amazing. A smiley face animation then appeared on the screen. 

[Good morning, Yui-sama.] The TV spoke. 

"... Good morning to you too. Who are you though?" I asked. 

[I am an artificial intelligence made by Yui-sama from the future. I came back to the past in order to serve Yui-sama once again.] 

"I created you?" 

[Correct.]

"How? Do I have superpowers?" 

[Close to it. Though, I didn't really get to have a chance to know Yui-sama more so I don't know how I was created. All I know is that I exist to help Yui-sama.]

"To serve me? Are you a robot maid sent by my dearest father?" 

[... Well, I could act as a maid if that's what Yui-sama wants.]

"Ehe! So he still cares about me after all!" 

[... No...]

"Oh right, what's your name by the way, robot-maid-san?" 

[You can call me The System.] 

"The Systemu? Seriously, is that your nickname? That kinda sounds so lame."

[Pardon me, but I don't have a specific name. That's just how I'm called.]

"You don't have a name, eh? How can such an irresponsible parents exist?" 

[... Yui-sama is the one who created me, so Yui-sama is my parent...] 

"What?" 

[It's nothing. How about Yui-sama give me a new name right now?] 

"You want me to give you a name? I don't think I'm really that good at giving names though..."

[I promise that I won't mind whatever Yui-sama will call me.]

"... If you insist that much..." I placed my hands on my chin, brainstorming myself. "How about Rui-chan!?" 

[Rui-chan, huh. I love it, it's similar to Yui-sama.] 

"I'm glad! Hey, let's go out, I want to give you a tour around the place!"

[Sure, please lead the way.] 

We headed out of the room. We're on the hallways. It's still quite like earlier. I turned my face to the window. I looked out the window. I saw a cat. The cat also looked at me. We stared at each other. I was surprised how that cat is still alive. It was weird. The cat started running. 

"YOU DAMN CAT!!!!" I shouted. I jumped through the window to chase it. 

[Yui-sama!!!] 

I jumped through the window from the fourth floor. I was flying. I felt like a bird. I was falling.

"AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!" I furiously screamed while falling. I was mad. After all, because of that Koichi, I accidentally stabbed my eye. Thankfully, my eyes magically healed.

I took out the knife that I hid in my underwear. I raised it. I landed on the ground. I hit my head on the ground. My head was bleeding. My conciousness slowly faded. I died.

[Yui-sama, please be more careful next time.]

".... What happened?" 

[I rewinded the time to save Yui-sama.] 

"Rewinded the time?" 

[Indeed. We go back to the time where you woke up.] 

"... I see..." I said. I closed my eyes. My head hurts a bit. I could still remember that dream where I was laying down on my own blood. It was cold. I felt sad for some reason.

[Please have breakfast, Yui-sama.] 

I opened my eyes. Rui-chan handed me a floating meal of some typical breakfast. It was really floating. It was cool.

"... Thanks." I took it. I started eating. "Mhn! Thish taste so good!" 

[Please don't talk with your mouth full, Yui-sama.] 

"Okesh!" I hurriedly chewed and gulped down the food. "Well, this is actually better than the one I usually eat! From now on, you'll be the one who'll cook for me!"

[Thank you for the compliment.] 

"How did you do this?" 

[... Magic, I guess.] 

"Wow, you know how magic? Can you teach me?" 

[Naturally. After all, Yui-sama will eventually have to confront artificial intelligence like me in the future.]

"What is Rui-chan trying to say?" 

[Yui-sama, I have something to tell you. Please listen carefully.] 

"Go on." I said. Rui-chan got silent for a moment. I waited for his reply. I waited for what he wanted to say. Don't tell me, it's a confesion? Ahahaha! 

[Yui-sama understands that I came from the future, right? Well, our earth is in a grave state. 99.99% of humanity has turned to dust. Yui-sama is the only one left in the world. Yui-sama is the only hope.] 

"... And?" To be honest, I didn't really get it. But I'll pretend to be listening well as a friend. 

[All of the people Yui-sama knows doesn't exist anymore. All of the people Yui-sama were acquainted with are dead.] 

"Huh!? How did this come to them being dead!?" 

[I know it will be hard to make Yui-sama accept and understand this fact. As such, I will be guiding Yui-sama.] 

Rui-chan's expression looked serious. I stared at Rui-chan. Rui-chan stared at me. We stared at each other. I didn't really get what she meant. 

I recalled those times in a dream where I died. I got scared. I couldn't control how I breathe. I found it hard to breathe.
