When I told the science professor that Rachel wouldn't be able to go on the school trip and I was staying with her, he was surprisingly calm.

Contrary to my initial expectations that the professor would not consider Rachel's illness a valid excuse, he agreed to delay writing the report for us as an exception.

I suspected that he made this decision because he was well aware of the situation. The professor knew that no one else at the academy would take care of Rachel.

It was a bitter, but at the same time, truth.

Therefore, I was doubly grateful to this person. At least someone in this place understood how hard it was for Rachel to survive in such conditions. Perhaps, after this incident, natural history will become my favorite subject.

Since almost all the freshmen were leaving for extracurricular activities, the academy should be extremely deserted for the next couple of days. Since the upperclassmen were too busy with their exams, they didn't have time to just wander around the hallways.

Even now, when I returned from the school infirmary, there were fewer people on my way. Everyone was hurriedly packing their things in the dorm since the departure was already tomorrow.

I asked the nurse for all the necessary antipyretics, herbal tinctures, and whatever else I might need. Despite Rachel's claims that she was fine, I still intended to put her on bed rest for a few more days.

Even if the girl herself didn't care about her health, I wasn't going to let it slide. After all, recently, her welfare has become my concern too.

When I got back, I planned to make Rachel some chicken broth. I have no idea how effective this is, but at least it's more pleasant than the usual tincture.

With my bag filled with supplies from the medical room, I walked down the second floor without a second thought. But it turned out that everything was not so simple for me.

As if sensing that someone had been following me all along, I whirled around and met the familiar blue gaze.

Only he was missing here.

Philippe Blanche, noticing my luggage, asked anxiously:

"Leriana, are you ill?"

He was going to check my pulse right away, but I didn't let him.

"Good morning to you, too, Your Highness."

Meanwhile, I noticed that there was definitely something different about the young man.

We haven't seen each other since I coolly turned him down at the banquet. Actually, I was not interested in this topic. It was a page in my life that I wanted to turn once and for all.

Except that Philip still seemed to hold out some hope.

"Why do you need so much medicine?" Despite my unequivocal greeting, the prince continued to ask questions anyway, "Is this something serious?"

"It's not for me," I decided, "I took Rachel's medicine."

Hearing that name, the boy's expression instantly changed. There was an obvious irritability and coldness in his tone.

"So you're going to see her now?"

"Yes," I said without hesitation, "I have to hurry, so I'll say goodbye to you, Your Highness."

I had nothing to talk about with Prince Philip, so I intended to leave right away. But he suddenly took my hand.

I was surprised at the sudden movement.

"Your Highness, let me go!"

"Leriana, you don't know who you're messing with yet!" Philip said desperately, "Let me prove that she's not who she says she is."

After the young man started talking some nonsense, I finally got mad at him.

"Your Highness, I can decide for myself who I want to associate with or not…"

"No! You can't," he said suddenly.

The Prince continued to hold my wrist, despite my repeated requests to stop.

I had no idea what was going on. This Philip was different from his usual calm and rational self. Right now, he could barely maintain his composure.

It was too abrupt a change of character. It's like someone just changed the character's original settings to the opposite.

Meanwhile, I tried to negotiate with him.

"Your Highness, let me go and we'll talk normally…"

"I'll let you go if you promise me you won't go to that damned girl," he said sharply.

"What?"

"I just want to help you. You'll be in immediate trouble if you keep messing with someone like her…"

Philippe Blanche couldn't finish the sentence, because the next second he was thrown violently to the side and almost hit his head. Once on the floor, he looked up in shock.

I was also surprised to see a figure suddenly appear in front of me.

"If you touch my girlfriend again, I'll break all your arms."

The cold warning sounded more like a real threat.

Rachel looked at the Crown Prince disdainfully, as if she were looking at a slug.

"What… What did you say?!"

"I said this is the last time I'll let you live."
