After I finished my food, I summoned [Blood Blade] and poked my left index finger. I was then transported the Haven.
As I landed on the soft green grass and looked out towards the endless world, I stood up and returned my [Blood Blade] to my inventory. There was a slight soft breeze today which was somewhat comforting. As I turned around, I was shocked to see that a stall had appeared behind me.
There wasn't anyone running the stall, there was just a list of items with prices written next to them. I looked through the display and saw a huge variety of items which seemed overly cheap for how good they looked. However, once I looked at a sign stapled to the side of the stall, I realised why.
{All items purchased at the Haven Shop can only be used in Haven}
Basically, I couldn't use these items outside of Haven meaning they were only to help me complete Haven missions and earn experience.
My first fight in the qualifiers round of the preliminary tournament was happening in just two days, meaning I had only two days to get stronger. Beside each of the items, there was a short paragraph explaining what they did.
-
[Freeze Bolt] (x10) - 1 Vampire Token
{Launch a ball which explodes and freezes nearby enemies.}
~
[Archer Pet] - 1 Vampire token
{Gain a small archer minion to shoot at enemies from a distance—despawns after one hour.}
~
[Speed Boost Potion] (x2) - 1 Vampire Token
{Increase your speed and agility for ten minutes. Effects disappear once you leave Haven.}
~
[Double Experience Potion] - 2 Vampire Tokens
{Double all experience gained in Haven for one hour.}
-
There were quite a few useful purchases in the shop. They were also all extremely cheap which was important as I only had four Vampire Tokens left. Before I bought anything, I decided to have a look at my Haven Missions to see what would be useful.

So it was clear that the difficulty had increased. I completely missed out on completing the dungeon in the last set of missions so I wanted to try it out this time, however, I wanted a little warm up so I decided to begin with the Skeleton guard. I made my way over to the shop and bought the [Double Experience Potion] and ten [Freeze Bolts]. I quickly drank the potion.

I accepted the mission and waited for it to spawn as usual. There was a rather tall cloud of smoke as the Skeleton Guard was summoned into existence, in the meantime, I conjured my [Blood Blade] and thought about strategies. I had practically no idea what it was going to be like so I created some space between myself and the summoning cloud so I could observe it once it came out.
After a few seconds, with a poof, a tall, lanky skeleton appeared from within the smoke. I noticed that it had what looked like a longsword in its right hand. I raised my [Blood Blade] and braced to fight it. As it saw it, it began running and charging at me, holding a longsword in only one hand.
As it got closer, I began worrying that I wouldn't be able to stop a blow from the longsword. I also wouldn't be able to activate the ability of my [Blood Blade] as it didn't have any blood to feed. The huge imposing figure stood in front of me and swung down its sword.
I positioned my sword and blocked the attack with all my might. However, the extremely heavy force of the attacked forced my sword into the ground and left my body wide open. I had no other option except to use one of my [Freeze Bolts]. The ball exploded on the ground in front of me, sending a cold shiver down my spine and freezing the skeleton in place.
I charged in at the opening and swung at it. My [Blood Blade] smashed into its bones and chipped off fragments. The little pieces of bone were sent flying through the air, however, not even a few seconds later, the skeleton appeared to have broken through the [Freeze Bolt] and raised its longsword again.
I decided to take a few steps back and try to dodge its longsword instead of blocking it straight on. It was too powerful for me to completely block.
I realised that its bones were also extremely strong. Even with all my strength, all I could do was chip away at it. The bones were like solid fragments of cement, extremely hard and sturdy. I took more steps back and avoided its relatively predictable strikes. For some reason, it appeared to be speeding up and looked like it was going to catch my movements.
I used another [Freeze Bolt] to buy myself some time and charged in, smashing at its bones. White dust and chunks of bone was sent through the air, littering the green grass below. It still wasn't enough to bring it down—in fact, it looked like it was barely being affected by my attacks.
At this point my only thought was to feed [Blood Blade] some of my own blood to strengthen it. I was hardly even hurting the skeleton even with all my might. The problem was, my left hand hadn't healed yet and cutting myself would leave injuries for later.
In the end, I decided to chip away at its neck. I used four more [Freeze Bolts] before I had managed to hit it enough times for its head to disconnect from its body. After a long drawn out battle, I finally managed to succeed and the rest of the bones along with the longsword evaporated into the air.
The long battle tired out my arms significantly. I had also slightly injured my ankle as I was trying to manoeuvre around its attacks. However, I could not stop my momentum as I was running low on time to prepare for the tournament.
I quickly checked the missions menu.

I had managed to earn an entire thousand experience from the mission alone. The double experience potion really was worth it.
Anyways, without further ado, I accepted the mission to take on the dungeon.
