The manhunt for the "Singing Pervert"

 

 

The red hellish sun sets into the mysterious calm sea! This is a very special and important night to the people connected with Isaac's case! The time is nine thirty at night. Abraham and Michelle sit at home nervous and tense after finding out the pen that was found in the yard belongs to Joshua and the family awaits further news from the police! Jack and Joan's car is hidden between the trees in the woods at some distance from Joshua's house. At the entrance to the woods waits with their headlights off five squad cars with 15 nervous cops. Mickey and Wally are executing the search warrant at Joshua's rancid apartment. Mickey holds in his hand a warrant to search the apartment and the car and also an arrest warrant to question Joshua as a suspect in child molestation and the person responsible for Isaac's disappearance. The forensic team and other cops along with sniffer dogs are walking around the apartment. The dogs have been give clothes of the children who stayed there to find their scent and their belongings. As predicted, the dogs find the hidden door leading to the large basement! Everyone is shocked and horrified at the sight of the objects in the basement that belong to the various children who have been molested. Joshua's car appears slowly up the road leading to the woods. Joshua spots two squad cars entering the woods with their headlights off and driving up the road to his house. He floors the gas and escapes with a squeal of the tires…Jack and Joan's car continues following his car. Joan screams into the radio

"Lt. Mickey…Lt. Mickey…this is Joan…the suspect's car is now fleeing the area. I guess he noticed the squad cars entering the woods. He e is driving on Walsh headed south. We are about 500 feet from him. We need back up, come in, to block his ride. We need back up! Copy?"

"Joan and Jack…this is Mickey! Keep up the pursuit…I'm sending back up now…all cars in the vicinity of Walsh, please respond to a high speed chase of a black SUV license plate 703429-19. The driver is a 45 year old male, fat, tall and bald. He has green eyes and wearing blue pants and a white shirt!! His name is Joshua Solomon of 23 Jackson Avenue…he is apparently the singing pervert!! I repeat we are in pursuit after the singing pervert suspect…"

Suddenly Mickey remembers Joshua's boat docking at the marina.

"Pay attention! The suspect owns a boat at the marina…he may be trying to get to the boat to escape the country!! He cannot be allowed to reach the marina or the boat!! Remember…the suspect is dangerous!! He may have a weapon…he is dangerous and desperate and it is unclear what he will do to himself or others…he cannot escape!! If it's necessary the wheels of his car should be damaged to prevent his escape…if he is a threat to others it is a go to wound and stop him!! Wally and I are joining in the pursuit! Keep your eyes open and be careful! I want everyone back safely! Don’t be heroes!"

Everyone confirm the message and continue to report  to Mickey and Wally who enter the new police vehicle that reaches 150 miles per hour if necessary, like mad men and drive quickly in the direction of Joshua who hears the sirens and watches in terror at the squad cars with their blinking lights. Joshua is terrified and doesn’t understand why the entire police force in the state is after him. He shivers and mumbles in terror.

"What do they want from me?"

Desperately and in frustration

"Why are these felons chasing me like I some kind of suicide bomber...or a crazy Nazi? What do they think? That I'm Hitler's second in command?" 

He starts to cry.

"I wanted help! I even told several psychiatrists that I'm a pervert. That I'm the singing pervert…but they just mocked me"  

He imitates them

"The signing pervert? You??You may be the singing idiot!!"

He rages on…

"They kept laughing at me…stop bullshiting us… you...the singing pervert…and we're mental patients playing doctors…"

The cops order his to pull over through the speaker and even start shooting out the tires of his car. He speeds up.

"I have to get to my boat…I need to get away from this psycho country! These lunatics have probably decided to finish me off… a police force of perverts…false prophets!! Satan worshipers…God shall smite them down!!"

His car approaches the gate of the marina as six squad cars pursue him… Mickey and Wally's fast car speeds to the head of the convoy! A police helicopter appears out of nowhere and shines its huge light on Joshua's car who isn’t in control of his actions and hysterically bursts through the gate smashing it to bits…unfortunately his left back wheel and right front tire are hit by the cops bullet's and his cars stops…or more like a sad wreck that just died at the marina! The squad cars surround him and the cops jump out with their guns drawn hiding behind their cars and pointing the guns at Joshua's car…Mickey yells worriedly towards Joshua who is not visible yet.

"Joshua Solomon! You are surrounded! Come out with your hand up and we won't harm you!! Don’t do anything stupid!!"

Joshua is afraid that they are going to finish him off and won't come out of the car. They seem like a bunch of bloody thirsty cannibals about to cook him alive and relish his bones!! He screams at them in terror.

"I know you want to finish me off!! But why?? What did I do? I am not a Nazi…or a terrorist"

"We don’t want to hurt you…we want to talk to you down at the police station!!! If you don’t do anything stupid, no one will get hurt!! Come on, Joshua step out of the car with your hands up!!"

Mickey yells at Joshua and everyone wait impatiently for Joshua to come out but it seems like it's not going to happen.

"You sons of bitches…I don’t believe you…the second I come out you'll fill me up with bullets. As if I was target practice..."

He laughs madly.

"Forget it!! I'm not as stupid as you think!!"

The order to shoot up Joshua's car is at the tip of Mickey's tongue and he knows that as soon as he gives the order to shoot Joshua he'll save the state the pain of a trial and give justice to Abraham and Eve! He finds a great strength within him to not shout out what his heart is wishing for as much as he hates the singing pervert that drove the country crazy.

"Listen, Joshua! I understand your fears and concerns!! But I swear to you, no one will hurt you…not even by accident!"

Mickey stands up straight in front of the car.

"To prove to you that I am being honest…I am approaching with bare hands…no weapon!! If anyone wants to hurt you, they'll have to go through me first!! Deal??"

Mickey raises his hands high up in the air to prove that they are empty. Wally tries to grab him and whispers in fear.

"Are you crazy? You can't do that…what if he has a gun and he shoots you in the head?" 

Mickey whispers back

"Don’t worry Wally…I know what I'm doing! I have a gun in my sock"

Mickey starts walking with his hands up towards Joshua…the cops and detectives whisper among them anxiously…they are sure Mickey has decided to kill himself…or at a minimum has lost his mind. Mickey yells out.

"Joshua…I don’t have any weapons…do you see my hands raised? Don’t be afraid Joshua…comes out of the car"

Joshua sees Mickey approaching and relaxes a bit but decided not to take a chance and the moment Mickey stands a short distance from the car, he whispers to him.

"Turn around and stand with your back to me…I want to make sure you're not hiding a knife or gun somewhere else, waiting for the right moment to kill me…now turn around" 

A slight fear of the unknown creeps down Mickey's back and his mind is racing…

"maybe I should draw the concealed gun right now and aim it at this perverts disgusting face…or…or maybe its better if I open the car door by surprise and jump on him… no … no…maybe it's better if I just pretend to turn around and when he comes out I'll shove the gun in his face…" he sighs. "Maybe its better I don’t do anything yet and we'll see what happens."

Mickey turns around slowly with his back to the car door as he notices Joshua's frightened face coming closer to the door. Everyone stand by in case something happens. Wally runs with his back bent down and manages to get to the car from behind without being seen. Joshua steps out of the car holding a concealed knife. Wally crawls on the ground quietly and reaches the back side of the car. Joshua raises his knife…everyone freeze afraid of hitting Mickey if they start shooting at Joshua! Wally jumps up at Joshua and manages to grab the hand holding the knife. Joshua is surprised. He doesn’t understand where the cop came from and all his attempts to come loose fail. Mickey turns around again quickly, he knocks Joshua to the floor with Wally's help and slaps a pair of handcuffs on Joshua's hands who is screaming hysterically

"Leave me alone…I didn’t do anything…what do you want from me?"

He weeps.

"I'm scared…don’t kill me please!!"

Everyone sigh in relief and clap their hands enthusiastically. Three detectives approach Mickey and Wally and take Joshua. Mickey and Wally stand up and pat each other on the back. Mickey says out loud

"Joshua Solomon…you are under arrest for molesting and abusing children…you are also suspected with breaking into Abraham Menis' house on 13 Hope St., assaulting his spouse Michelle Anderson, and kidnapping his 5 year old son, who so far has not been returned to his parents!! Everything you say now, can be used against you in a court of law…you have the right for an attorney, if you cannot afford one, one will be appointed to you by the state!!" 

He yells at the detectives holding him

"Take him to the station immediately and don’t let anyone come near him"

Joshua is cruelly shoved at the direction of the squad car when suddenly Mickey and Wally block their way. Mickey threateningly holds Joshua's shirt collar and asks him angrily as he nearly chokes him, as Joshua gasps for air and coughs heavily to breathe

"Tell us where Isaac is! If you tell us where you hid him we'll treat you nicely and ask the DA to go easy on you! I hope for your sake he's still alive…because if he isn't, you'll be charged with murder"

Mickey and Wally are shocked to see Joshua retreating and looking at them as if they were crazy…he starts laughing madly…

"You bunch of idiots…mental patients…I don’t give a rat about you!! You can frame me for anything you want, starting with Jesus' death and up to Kennedy's assassination! I didn’t break into that apartment…I didn’t attack that woman…I didn’t kidnap any boy and I certainly didn’t kill anyone!! I know you're trying to frame me for all sorts of things but you're not going to do it…you can't prove anything!!"

He continues to laugh evilly and madly as he is pushed violently into the car that leaves along with the others the scene. Mickey and Wally watch each other in frustration. They can still barely digest his words and response.

"It looks like it's going to be a difficult story with him…he won't tell us where Isaac is…and we have a problem"

Wally mumbles helplessly and slams the car. Mickey hugs him, takes out the flask covertly and sips. He passes it to Wally who also sips from the flask and returns it to Mickey who sadly mumbles

"Poor Isaac…I'm sure Joshua has already killed him and threw the body somewhere! I don’t know what I'm going to say to his parents…that he's alive and we keep searching? That he's dead and we keep searching? What a mess".
