An era of peace and prosperity, where creatures of all manners and origins have come together as one to strive for a better world. The God Acer Kingdom spread across continents and it was a haven, a paradise where mortals could walk amongst gods.

That was before; the world has changed. Regressing into a shadow of its former glory days, the world is fractured and divided: the Demesne Kingdom, the Exchequer Kingdom, and many others have all risen from the ashes of the God Acer and none come close to its height. Dungeons have appeared and are slowly spreading across the land in an unstoppable march of death. It is in this world that Alex lives.

After a stray bandit attack devastated his home and killed his loved ones, Alex was reborn as a monster in the depths of the worst dungeon known to humanity–and not just any monster: the absolute weakest of the bunch, a slime. Filled to the brim with monsters as old as the world itself, secrets better left alone, and eldritch horrors that enjoy twisting the mind of unassuming passerbyers to their whim, the dungeon is a cesspool of all that is bad in the world and the tomb site for many would-be adventurers–it’s also the perfect place to become stronger. If Alex wants to achieve his goal of escaping the dungeon and exacting his vengeance on those who murdered his loved ones, he’s going to have to forge unlikely alliances, throw away his pre-existing understanding of how the world works, and be willing to walk the line between sanity and madness. All the while, the System seems hellbent on ensuring he remains in the dungeon and stripping away the last remnants of his humanity.

In the end, Alex’s goal may force him to choose between remaining a human who wants to avenge his loved ones, or becoming the mindless monster everyone seems to want him to become.
