A few days passed since then.
She barely left her room, and when she did it was only to take a bath.
Besides the maid, the only other person she met was Halon Kasser, the Head Butler. After he introduced himself, he had someone measure her so he could buy her clothes that fit. Up until then, she wore slightly oversized clothes.
Halon asked her if she had any requests for the dresses. She answered with one word. ‘Plain.’
After all, she didn’t plan on staying long.
Halon was a straightforward person. He wasn’t at all like the strict and cold attendants she met while living in the castle. He told her he’d get her anything she wanted or needed. Aurora actually found it difficult to deal with people like him.
Later, the maids forced her to wear a corset. She refused at first but soon lost to their pure enthusiasm. Saying that ladies shouldn’t show their figure so easily and how even female knights were careful about this.
Ugh, she forgot how painful it was to wear a corset…
She still hadn’t met with the Master of the house.
Tanya, Anya, and Halon didn’t tell her anything and she also didn’t ask.
Why?
She thought it was the perfect chance to silently observe them and her surroundings. By getting to know the people who serve under him, she'd get a better idea of what kind of person he is.
Halon knocked on her door and bowed in respect. “The Duke requests your presence.”
Seeing her expression, Halon thought she was nervous in meeting an important figure in high society. While he wasn’t wrong, he wasn’t necessarily right.
Aurora was nervous. But she was only nervous about whether she’d be able to put on a calm façade in front of a person closely tied to royalty.
“Don’t worry! He won’t bite as long as you don’t provoke him!” He said, laughing.
She just smiled in response.
“The twins will escort you to his study room when its time. I have to go do some work now. See you later!” He childishly waved both his hands and left behind a stunned Aurora standing in place.
Aurora stared in a daze at the floor in deep thought.
An hour later, as Halon said, the twins led her to the Duke’s office. When she reached the stairs, she paused.
She saw a middle-aged round man kneeling on the floor with a horrified expression. Then the man with red hair waved for the Knights to drag him away. The middle-aged man then yelled at the top of his lungs, cursing at the other person.
“What’s wrong?” Tanya asked. She didn’t know the Miss had stopped walking until Anya pointed it out to her. The twins thought it was like Halon said, and she was nervous about seeing the Duke. Tanya patted Aurora’s hand to comfort her.
“Mon…ster of the…North. What is…it?” Aurora was really curious, and because of that curiosity, it would later come to make her regret it.

Tanya gasped. She covered her mouth with her finger. “Shh, don’t say that despicable nickname! Our Master hates being called that, and we, his servants also find it appalling.”
Anya nodded her head vigorously. “And they don’t even know the real reason for that nickname! They all think it’s because he’s cruel and cold, but it’s not like that at all! If they knew the truth, they’d…”
“Anya!!!” Tanya called out frantically.
Hearing her sister shout, made Anya wince in fright. She immediately snapped her mouth closed and covered it with her hand. "S-sorry." She glanced at Aurora. "Miss, please forget about what I just said."
Aurora understood then that there was more to this ‘nickname’ than she thought, and it wasn’t a simple as him being ‘cold’ to others. But she didn’t ask anymore, and the maids pretended as though she never did in the first place.
When the three finally reached the door to the Duke’s office, they saw Halon standing outside with another person who was similar in appearance to him, though a bit older and taller. When he caught her staring at him, he nodded his head in greeting and then turned around to enter the room.
Halon smiled apologetically at Aurora. “Sorry about that, my big brother is shy.” If he heard that, he’d have kicked this little brother of his. “I'll notify the Duke of your arrival.” Halon also entered the room behind his brother, closing the door behind him.
Aurora ended up waiting a few minutes until Halon finally opened the door and waved his hand for her to come inside. With her hands placed on top of each other in front of her like other proper ladies from noble families, she slowly entered the room. The twins didn’t follow her inside.
Standing in front of his desk Lucius observed the woman in a simple white dress. Even though she didn’t have any make-up on or wasn’t dressed up, the way she carried herself was what one would call elegant. Lucius’ gaze didn’t linger on her too long. No matter how beautiful she was, to him, she was no different than the other shallow women.
But Lucius didn’t expect for her to literally throw herself at him in the next moment, so what occurred next caught him completely off guard.
Aurora purposefully tripped over nothing and fell towards the Duke. “Ahh!” She softly called out, pretending as though she lost her balance. She wanted to take this chance to appeal her feminine features. Aurora was well aware of her charm when she was younger. Sometimes the men who greeted her didn't even hesitate to take a glimpse at her body with their perverted eyes.
She had always found it disgusting. But what's funny is how she had to later use that to her advantage to survive.
All men were the same. They were attracted to naïve, gorgeous women who were fragile and didn’t talk much. Using this as a pretense, she’ll make him lower his defenses.
Doing this will make him give her more information.
The Duke instinctually reacted and held his arms out to catch her. Her hands gripped his black coat, and her breasts pressed against his chest. With her teary eyes and flushed cheeks, she looked up at him with guilt. “I'm so…rry…” She whispered.
The two brothers, Halon and Raya were shocked. This wasn't an unfamiliar scene. This similar scene has happened so many times in the past that they were used to it. Even now, it still happened once in a while. Women were scary when determined. Lucius Rizar's nickname didn't scare them away.
But each time, the Young Master evaded their advances, not caring if they fell flat on their face. So, the two brothers were sure this time wouldn’t be any different. And yet…
‘What’s with that awkward pause and sparkling atmosphere between them!’ They thought to themselves.
That’s not right. Lucius did want to evade her. He planned to do so at first, but as she was falling, he felt an electric current run through him, making him hesitate.
When the summoner was in trouble, the familiar would be able to sense this. And vice versa. There were also many other skills that only a summoner and familiar can use. This was the bond between a summoner and their familiar.
Still, wasn’t it an exaggeration to consider falling as a dangerous situation?!
