“Then, I'll start.” Gaius picked up the brush and glanced at Aurora.
“Remember, you have to endure it no matter what. If it’s any sort of comfort, the sigil is not as large as my drawing. It’s only 3 inches wide and 3 inches in height.”
Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes.
If she could not handle this, then nothing will change.
In the next second, Aurora felt the cold needle of the brush press against her skin. Although it hurt, it was not as bad as she thought it would be.
But then…
A sharp pain suddenly struck her. It shot up her back and exploded throughout her body like fire. It felt like thousands of needles were being jammed inside her mana core. It made her reel to the point that she didn’t realize that the soft moaning was coming from her.
Even so, she refused to move an inch.
Because she knew if she did, it will all be useless.
"Right," Lucius suddenly called out. "There is one thing I did not tell you about the contract before."
Aurora turned her head to the side to look at him. She was momentarily distracted by the knife gouging out her skin. "What...is it?" Her sentence broke as she asked him. She could barely speak due to the pain.
"If you say 'marriage contract' as you think about us, the contract will appear in your hand, like so." The same parchment from earlier appeared as he said with a poof. "And because I did not set a punishment for breaking the contract, if it, itself deems we've broken the conditions, it will void the contract between us."
Aurora blinked her eyes. "What?! Why didn't you...hissss!!" Because she moved a bit when saying, the pain almost made her faint.
"Don't move!" Gaius warned in a low, stern voice.
Aurora gulped in nervousness. She almost ruined the sigil. "Why are you only telling me this now?" She glared at him, her eyes sharp enough to stab through him.
"Isn't that why I asked you if you wanted me to add a punishment?"
"Y-you were serious?" She thought he was only teasing her that time!
Lucius nodded his head. "Also, I didn't think it was that important."
Aurora's mouth twitched.
She was starting to wonder if there was any point to that contract....
"Oh, you can also change it." He mentioned, as though it was just an afterthought.
'Change it?' Aurora lowered her eyes as she contemplated.
While she did admit he has the right to kill her after confirming her identity, it didn't mean she would just stand there and let him kill her. Everyone who sacrificed their lives for her and told her to live, she didn't want to fail them again.
She was willing to do anything to keep her promise this time.
He raised his eyebrows in interest. "Can it be you want to change something?" When Aurora nodded her head, he hummed with interest. "Hmm. Then, tell me. The change will only go through if we both accept it."
Aurora thought about it for a while. After that last incident, she realised something. "The Dukedom...I'll help you, as promised, but...as long as...no one...tries to...kill me...If someone...tries to...even you...I will....kill...." She struggled to say the last part. The pain was starting to get stronger. Every cell in her body was tingling, making her feel very uncomfortable.
When Gaius saw how much pain she was in, he looked anxious. While he was interested in their discussion, he looked up at the Duke.
Lucius shook his head. He was telling the blacksmith to trust her.

So, Gaius continued. There was no choice. Once he started, it was impossible to stop.
"I agree. If anyone tries to hurt you, even if it is me, do as you please. Is there anything else?" He asked, the tone of his voice weak and hoarse.
Both Gaius and Aurora didn’t notice. She was not the only one suffering. The connection between Aurora and Lucius was horrible at times like this. Everything she felt, he felt. Like the time Aurora picked up on Lucius' pain from being poisoned.
Sweat dripped down from his forehead as he tried to concentrate on something else. His head felt light and made him dizzy. He was sweating, profusely, as if he had just fought off hundreds of beasts.
While Lucius was strong enough to block off the pain for a while, this was different. It was not physical pain, but pain coming through from Aurora. It was mental pain.
Still, he didn’t disturb Gaius and Aurora about this and stopped himself from releasing his mana.
Aurora shook her head. "No..."
She was glad Lucius did not make a fuss about it.
For ordering that bastard to kidnap her, and letting him have his way with her, she will make sure to return what she was given.
While she can no longer directly get revenge on those who tore her family apart, it didn't mean she overlooked the 15 years she spent on the run.
Unlike the past where she just smiled and endured, this time...
That is why, from now on, for those who harm her, she will completely and utterly destroy them. Even if it meant she, herself, had to suffer.
Ethan Blaise.
His name was already deeply ingrained in her heart.
Like this, Aurora was able to tolerate the continuous torture for the next two hours. The roof of her mouth was so dry, she couldn’t even swallow the saliva in her mouth.
That is until the pain ramped up from stinging to agonizing and an intense, searing pain struck her head with a blinding whiteness. Her heart was beating so fast that she thought it would jump out at any moment. Her soft moan turned into a sharp gasp for air.
Gaius was close to finishing. She could tell. She knew this was what he was talking about earlier. It was the final line he will connect with her mana core.
A feeling of lightheadedness and nausea took over and she felt like she'd pass out in a few moments. It was all too much to handle and for a moment Aurora considered giving up. She gritted her teeth.
Not good…she couldn't take it anymore...
The room felt as though it was spinning, and everything looked blurry. Just as her vision started turning black, Aurora felt something cold press against her lips.
That something probed her mouth open and slid inside. Through her doubled vision, she saw the outline of a man kneeling next to the bed.
His kiss was slow and soft, unlike that of before. Instead of being aggressive, it was as though he was kissing tender petals. But it was this gentleness that made Aurora's mind grow hazy.
An electric current ran through her body as they continued their passionate kiss. Aurora's previous dry mouth was now filled with his saliva, and her pain was soon replaced with sweet pleasure.
His fingers intertwined with hers as their hands clasped.
When she moaned, a hot breath came out as a sigh. The clarity of her mind disappeared into the abyss, and she took the initiative to deepen the kiss between them. All while being careful not to move.
Exactly one second after Gaius completed the sigil, she finally passed out after hearing the blacksmith drawing in a sharp breath. Thinking she had failed and that the sigil would become useless, everything turned dark.
But at this time, Aurora and the two men in the room had no way of knowing that because of this sigil, including an incident that will occur during her Coming of Age ceremony, she will one day become a well-known existence throughout the Opax continent.
