Earl Ruben Vel Nolbeia, although a noble, barely attended banquets, tea parties, or other gathering events. Ruben would rather spend time searching for those with the potential to become a craftsman. Throwing such lavish parties and events such as this was useless if it was not for Anvilus.

But when it came to Yulia, it was another thing. Earl Nolbeia didn’t mind even standing against up to the demon himself.

Yulia Vel Nolbeia was turning 16 years old today. As it was her Coming of Age Banquet, her parents went far and beyond for her.

As the hour for the banquet to start approached, magnificent carriages began to flow into Nolbeia's estate. Those present were wearing splendid clothing, making the entryway sparkle. The event was to be held in the reception hall and spilled outdoor in the garden. Tables and chairs were arranged outdoor neatly under the shade of a centuries old tree that kept the area warm from the cold weather.

It was what one would call extravagant.

One young lady hid her mouth behind a fan as she whispered to the ladies in her group. "I have heard rumors that Earl Nolbeia successfully invited Duke Rizar to the ceremony."

"Is that true?" One lady said.

"Will he really come?" Another asked with a blush.

The three young ladies were the daughters of nobles and Yulia’s friends.

The first who spoke, Helen Perriot, is the third-youngest daughter of Earl Perriot.

She raised her chin with a scowl and glared at the lady who spoke last. “Griselda, no, Grizzly, do be careful not to show that revolting expression in front of Yulia. You do know that she fancies him, yes?”

Griselda flinched. “I-I…I didn’t mean to….” She mumbled as she twiddled her thumbs.

Although Griselda was the only daughter of Marquis Enlil, who has a higher rank than the others, she was timid in nature. Since she was a child, she was called Grizzly due to her slightly above chubby appearance and frizzly hair.

But Griselda's blush wasn't due to her infatuation with the Duke like the others. Instead, she was curious about the man who commanded the strongest Knights in the Empire.

“How boorish.” The other lady, Molly Rolant, who is also the daughter of an Earl, said with disdain.

Griselda lowered her head. “I-I…”

“Oh my, no need to scold her, Helen. After all, that is how charming my future husband is. As he will appear at the ceremony, please look forward to seeing him.” Yulia Vel Nolbeia gracefully entered the garden. As one of the most beautiful women in the Dukedom, with her smooth dark brown hair that flowed like a curtain, and unblemished skin, she stood out amongst the ladies in Elran City.

Holding the corner of each part of her dress, she respectfully curtsied. “Thank you for taking part of my Coming of Age Ceremony.” She smiled brightly, addressing the nobles gathered in the garden.

Yulia always put on a humble display, while her personality on the inside was anything but humble. She was an attention seeker who always sought to be the center of every event. Like a Princess in a romance novel, she also yearned for her Prince in shining armor.

“I have come to let the dear guests know that the ceremony will begin momentarily. Please enter the hall.” She politely gestured with her hand.

Yulia joined the ladies as the guests entered the building. They quietly listened to the aristocrats whisper about how confident Yulia was in becoming the Duchess, and that Lucius would attend.

Helen, Molly, and Yulia glanced at each other with smiles on their faces.

However, an hour later, Yulia’s expression turned dark.

Lucius Rizar was nowhere to be seen.

The nobles who heard her declaration earlier snickered and sneered as they pointed at her.

Seeing the situation, Earl Nolbeia frowned and stepped out.

Wearing brown pants, a white shirt, and a large red robe over her shoulders, Earl Ruben Vel Nolbeia raised her wine cup to gain their notice. While the Earl wasn’t a beauty, her aura was majestic and awe-inspiring. With short blonde hair, where the bangs covered the scar on her left eye, you can tell that she was once a soldier who fought on the battlefield.

That’s right, Earl Ruben Vel Nolbeia was one of the eight ladies in the Epheria Empire who took over the Head of their household.

Ruben was not only famous for being a craftsman that can make artifacts, she was also a Knight in the past that fought to bring her family’s name back to glory. It was no secret that her goal was to make a Regalia, a special weapon made in the Tamriel Empire for those of royal blood.

“Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to take this time to thank you for making an appearance at my precious daughter’s Coming of Age Ceremony, Yulia Vel Nolbeia.” Ruben raised the wine glass towards her daughter. “My lovely Yulia, congratulations on turning 16. Cheers.”

The guests also raised their glasses in applaud. “Cheers!”

“I would also like to make an announcement.” The Earl tapped the back of a young boy around Yulia’s age. “This young man, although the son of Baron, has the potential to become an even better craftsman than me. I have decided to take him, Louvel Allen, in as my fist disciple with the hope that he will one day bring the Blacksmith Association Anvilus, to a much higher splendor. From today forth, he will also become my daughter’s personal attendant.”

Several guests gasped in shock while the rest glared at the young man in jealousy.

“Such a fortunate young man.” One person whispered.

“To think the great Nolbeia is taking the son of a lowly Baron has her disciple.” Another said.

“Hah, what do you know? That boy will probably become President of Anvil. His future from now on is limitless.”

Some of the guests realized the motive behind the Earl’s last sentence.

‘A future craftsmna has become Yulia’s attendant. Which can only mean that even if Anvilus' President changes in the future, the association's power will always lie with the Nolbeia’s household.’

“It seems I have missed an interesting speech.”

The voice of a male came from the entryway of the reception hall.

“Duke Rizar has arrived!”

Hearing this, Yulia excitedly approached the front. The guests naturally made space for her to pass through. By the time she reached the front, Yulia found it strange the way some of the guests stared at her. With pity. Thinking nothing much of it, she continued to pursue her target.

Even though she was in a hurry, she made sure not to make herself look like a fool and kept her movement graceful and smooth.

The moment she reached the front and planned on calling out for the Duke, her mouth that was hung wide open closed with a snap. Yulia stared at the person by his side and shivered. It was as though someone poured a large bucket of cold water over her.

The guests all gaped in awe at Lucius Rizar and his partner.

Who is that gorgeous young lady by his side?!!
