In the past, the cold weather in the Rizar duchy was unbearable.
That is until a Rune Mage one day created a warmth rune to keep people warm. However, since it required unique materials to make and a talented seamstress with knowledge in runes, it wasn't something just anyone could get their hands on.
But then, Lucius Rizar, during his time at the academy, found a way to substitute the materials with his best friend's help, Gaius Lancaster.
Still, the warmth rune was not omnipotent. One still needed to bundle up a little when going outside.
Aurora was not aware of this until recently since she didn't have a sigil, but a seamstress sews the warmth rune on the inside of clothes. It automatically draws on a person's mana for 24 hours to keep working. Since the mana needed was very little, even those with the weakest mana cores do not notice it.
A black/gold double-headed eagle, holding a sword in each claw...the Rizar Family’s crest.
The moment the students saw this crest on the carriage, they couldn’t help but stop in place and stare in awe. After the incident at Yulia Vel Nolbeia’s Coming of Age Ceremony, rumors about the Duke’s beautiful companion quickly spread like wildfire in the dukedom, even reaching as far as the Imperial City.
Without her being aware of it, the name Aurora Isla had already reached the four corners of the Epheria Empire.
Aurora sat in her carriage and watched as the other students started whispering with each other. She thought they were surprised from seeing the crest, but Aurora would have never thought it was due to her presence.
She took off the long blue coat, revealing her uniform underneath, and placed it to the side.
Aurora nodded her head at Halon, who stood outside by the carriage door. While the carriage didn’t need horses to pull it, a coachman was necessary to make sure nothing went wrong.
Halon opened the door and held his hand out for the Miss.
Unlike the other female students, she let her long hair flow freely. With a lightish brown color, it shined just as brightly as her green eyes. Aurora did not wear her skirt too short or too long. However, because of her long legs, her socks stopped just before her knees.
It was no wonder that this further enhanced her full growth appearance.
The Carlisle Academy’s uniform is a simple and elegant red and white uniform. The uniform for male students usually consists of a white dress shirt beneath a red blazer, a dark red or purple tie with white pants, and brown shoes. While female students wear a similar uniform, instead of pants, it consists of a short white skirt, long black socks, and a bowtie.
Due to the cold weather all year long, the uniforms were designed with the intention of keeping the students warm. Thus, the blazers are long-sleeved, and all have warmth runes seamed inside.
As long as they keep to the traditional red jacket and white pants/skirt, students in years 2-4 have free reign over the other outfit parts. This included the color of the tie, dress shirt, shoes, and the length of the female’s skirt and socks.
But, 1st years must strictly adhere to the uniform rules.
From what Aurora read in the school guide, the emblem on the uniform found on the shoulder represented what year, department, and class the student attends. The shape and color are different for each year and department.
For example, a first-year student in the Magic Theory Department has a red emblem with a star shape in the middle.
This is why when the students saw her emblem, they stood there dumbfounded. It didn't take long for them to look away and walk a few steps back from Aurora and her escorts.
"Why is she in THAT department of all places?!!"
The students started whispering amongst themselves about the mysterious young lady who came to the academy...
"She's the person in the rumors, right? Duke Rizar's partner and fiancée?"
"Did she really pour hot tea all over Lady Yulia to claim the Duke as hers?"
"You really can never tell with a person’s appearance!"
"Let's not mention how she is now part of those strange people's group..."
Halon frowned at their rude behavior. He wanted to warn them to watch their mouths, but then Halon saw how little it bothered Aurora and couldn't help but nod his head in acknowledgement. His big brother didn't like her much from the beginning, but Halon noticed how much his Lord changed after meeting her.
'Right, if she can not handle this much pressure, then it would be even more difficult for her when she visits the Imperial City with His Grace in the future.'
“Then, My Lady, with your permission, I'll take my leave. Your luggage has already arrived in your room.” Halon placed his hand over his chest and bowed.
When Aurora nodded her head, Halon turned to Bea. “Please take care of the Miss, and make sure not to interfere with her studies.”
“Yes, of course!” Bea replied excitedly.
"...." Halon found himself quite worried.
At Lady Aurora's request, the group took a short break at a restaurant. Because there weren't any available seats in the private lounge, she decided to sit in the common area without using His Grace's name.
Before the food even arrived, Dame Beatrice already caused the Lady trouble.
Bea glared at the three men sitting at the table next to theirs as they gawked and whistled while looking at Aurora with vulgar expressions.
"Hey! You better keep those eyes of yours in check!!" Bea growled at them.
The men just scoffed and ignored her.
From the moment Aurora walked inside the restaurant with Bea, Halon, and four other Knights, a staring contest began between the two groups.
The other guests shook their heads. The moment they saw the Lady escorted by Knights wearing a black/gold uniform, they knew this person was somehow related to Lucius Rizar, the Duke of Rizar.
Unfortunately, the three men had only come to Elran City a few days ago for work and were clueless about such things.
"How do you think it'll feel to have the body pressed under you?"

"Heh, I wouldn't mind havin' her on top of me!"
The three men intentionally spoke in a loud voice.
"What?!!"
The four Knights stood up at the same time, blocking Aurora from their view. "Say that again?!"
Ever since the archery incident with Christopher, the other Knights, especially those who have been with the Rizar family the longest, treated her as their Lady.
And seeing that she was quite different from most spoiled noble ladies her age, they became rather fond and protective of her and volunteered to escort her to the academy.
The eldest, Cassis, is respected by the other Knights, even those from the aristocrat faction. The others introduced themselves as Izaak, Wilmot and Geve.
Aurora held out her hand to stop them and shook her head.
The four Knights and Bea stopped in place and went back to their seats.
"Lady Aurora, is it alright not to do anything?" The Knight Wilmot asked her.
Aurora shook her head.
"You're too nice, Lady Isla." Cassis, one of the Knights who stood up for her during the competition, said to her. "You're the same age as my daughter, but she would have beaten those men and left them at death's door." Cassis sighed. "If only she was as mature as you."
"__"
I am actually 15 years older than your daughter...
Not that she can tell him that.
And the only reason Aurora didn't have the Knights go attack those people wasn't because she's mature, but she just thought it was too bothersome. She'd just rather quickly reach the academy and start researching summoning magic.
Not that Aurora bothered clearing up Cassis' misunderstanding about her...
"Hah!" Geve snorted. "At death's door, you said? Admit it, old man Cass, your daughter would have delivered them past death's door!!"
Wilmot and Izaak burst out laughing, while Cassis couldn't even find it in himself to disagree with Geve.
Aurora's raised an eyebrow.
She found the Knight Cassis' daughter to be quite an interesting character. It would be nice if she could meet her one day.
When Beatrice saw the three men at the other table continuing to smirk while looking at them, she looked as if she wanted to kill them herself. "Well, not like I blame your daughter, old man." She smashed her fist into her other hand. "Lady, let me deal with those punks!"
"No." Aurora took a sip of the warm mint latte in front of her and placed it back on the table. "Listen, only a fool fights with another dog. And when that happens, that fool will only become an even lower level dog."
Although her voice wasn't exactly loud, it was loud enough for them to hear.
The Knights, Bea, and even Halon all chuckled at this.
Three men stood up and turned towards Aurora. "I dare you to say that again while in my bed." His face contorted in anger.
Just before a full fight was about to break out, Dame Beatrice was the first to fully pull out her sword. The four Knights only grabbed the hilt of their swords and pulled it out a few inches. They knew that this should be enough to make them pull back.
It was only then the three men sobered up and realized they messed with someone they shouldn't have.
If they hadn't had a few drinks from before, those three would have long noticed the elaborate uniforms and coldness coming from those Knights.
"Tsk..." The three turned tail and ran out of the restaurant after paying their bill.
After that, they were finally able to relax and have a good meal.
But then Bea, who wanted to learn more about Aurora, started asking about her relationship with the Duke.
"Hey, my Lady...I was wondering...how are your nights with his Grace?"
When she asked this, not to mention the Rizar Knights, even the other guests could not help but perk their ears with a slight tint of blush on their cheeks.
"Pfffffff....!!!" Startled, Aurora nearly spit out her drink. Clearing her throat, she patted her mouth with the napkin on the side. "Beatrice, I understand and appreciate your eagerness to get to know me, but please take the time, place and topic into consideration."
"Ah?? Oh..." Disappointed, she nodded her head.
Since then, Halon was no longer sure if it was a good idea to leave Beatrice with Aurora.
Although Anya would arrive later, Halon wasn't any less worried, since she was troublesome in a completely different way. If either Anya or Tanya were there with them, those men would have left the restaurant one leg less than the three they came in with.
Halon glanced at Beatrice. "Protect the Lady well...." He could only leave while shaking his head with concern.
The other four Knights bid their farewell and left while in dejection for being unable to stay by their Lady's side. Fortunately, the academy allowed students to bring a Knight and a Maid/Butler, so she wouldn't be left alone.
