Ancano felt the thalmors interest were in danger when seeing the renovation being done with a form of magic unknown to him. as the most superior race on the planet the fact that this unknown member of a never before seen race had a type of magic beyond his knowledge irritated ancano to his core. 'this will not stand , time to put this lower being in it's place' ancano thought sinisterly before walking down the ramp of the college with his head held high arrogantly. alastair saw ancano coming down the ramp but chose to ignore him for the moment.
The small crowd watching alastair work in awe avoided ancano like he was a leper as he approached not out of respect but disgust. the elf didn't seem to pick up on this since he seemed to sneer at the people he passed like he expected such reverence. alastair could tell that ancano was coming to pick an issue with him from his arrogant approach so he decided to teach ancano a lesson. very carefully alastair targeted the elf alone with his sharpened conquerors haki while adding a bit of bloodlust for added effect.
Ancano froze mid step as an immense and regal presence descended on him like the angry eyes of a god. the yellow skinned elf grew pale and sweat formed on his brow despite the frigid temperatures and his instincts screamed at him to flee. impressively ancano retreated in a calm fashion even though he was terrified. alastair had to admit ancano was better will wise than most of the pirates from the one piece world since he didn't immediately pass out under his haki and even managed to maintain his composure. only alastairs group saw the use of haki alastair used with their own observation haki.
The nords watching this were confused at why ancano looked like he had seen a ghost and fled from this friendly stranger but decided to ignore the mater in the end. alastair raised storm walls from the sea along with high and thick stone walls around winterhold in order to finish his remodeling project. the entirety of winterholds population were amazed at the sheer difference between the city from before as now it truly looked like one of the regal holds of skyrim rather than a broken down hovel. the new winterhold looked like a truly powerful place at this moment with heavy defenses.
Once alastair was done even the most racist of nords in winterhold saw alastair in a friendly manner and treated him and his group to their best hospitality. spider fell in love with the rough but sweet nord beverage that was served with a feast of elk prepared by korir to welcome them formally to the city. savos and the mages in the college came to tour the new buildings a couple of hours later once their curiosity got the best of them. none of them could be blamed since no mage in their right minds wouldn't be interested in such a novel thing.
"I must say this is truly a marvel in architecture , i'm certain there is no other like it anywhere." savos struck up a conversation with alastair during the feast. korir was in such a good mood he hadn't even cared at the presence of the archmage nearby. "if you think this is impressive your heart would stop if you ever saw skypeia." alastair joked. "while i am unfamiliar with anywhere by that name i will take your word for it. i am interested however in the unusual magic used to construct this new infrastructure." savos said good naturedly.
"Not much i can help you with there i'm afraid since one can only learn it in a very specific place far far away from here." alastair said honestly. savos sighed but accepted this reason since alastair had no need to lie to him. "a pity since a great deal of good could be done with this magic to help the world." savos said saddened at the lost opportunity. "trust me when i say it's for the best." alastair says while thinking about his most destructive spells.
Savos seems to pick up on alastairs hidden thoughts and changes to subject. "besides renovating winterhold what do you plan on doing next if you don't mind me asking." he asked curiously. alastair thought for a moment before speaking "first I'll stick around winterhold for a month or so in order to better settle the chaos that will soon ensue with this cities new space." he said honestly. "ah yes i had wondered if you had taken that into account since i would imagine many will flock to see the reborn city a good amount who will likely stay." savos said calmly.
