Staggeringly walking back to my hospital room.

After my talk with Izumi-sensei, I’m trying to regain my composure, sweating profusely. Supporting my body, as I lean my body on the wall. For some reason, I feel exhausted and my chest became tight. There are no people in the hall right now—I need to regain my composure as soon as I can.

Took me a few minutes before my body finally recovered from that unknown thing that happened to me. I then went back to my room and saw the worried-looking Yuki sitting on my bed.

“Let’s go home? I got permission from Izumi-sensei,” I smiled.

“... Okay, I’ll go handle it.”

Yuki got up from the bed and passed by me, heading out of the room. But, I grabbed her arm and pulled her into my embrace, kissing her deeply—It made Yuki astonished. Of course, she easily accepted the kiss. Later on, she left the hospital room with a flushed face.

I then fell to the bed and lie down, breathing haggardly as I catch my own breath. The dizziness came back.

Now, I’m back at the school with the usual stuff. All is good for the majority of the time. However, there were sometimes that I needed to go to the bathroom to vomit. Naoki and Yuki acted the usual. Also, my popularity in the school soared high and I’ve been pretty famous with the ladies. Honestly, it ain’t a bad feeling—I might get used to this.

During the class, I excused myself once again and went into the bathroom.

Walking over the hallway, I’ve been mulling over what exactly happened to me and the things that happened to me. While at it, I noticed the odd behavior of Arima because when I saw his state earlier; he got his pale expression all over him and when I called him out; he forced a smile on me.

He’s been acting weird ever since, like he’s not been himself lately. I even asked Nao about it, but she doesn’t have any clue which makes sense, they’re not close with each other. And, about Yokota, she has been ignoring me, so I can’t ask her about it, despite glancing at me from time to time. It’s already our 5th period, but he still hasn’t come back to the class.

And then, something caught my eyes. The childhood of Arima—Ide Aoi. She must know something because most of the mood swings of Arima are always caused by her, but I can’t bring myself to talk to her because she’s been surrounded by her usual group of friends of Nagasawa.

Arriving at the bathroom, there are no people in here other than me. So I opened one of the stalls, and an unexpected scenery blooms before me. A man was sitting on the toilet unconscious, all wet and beaten, blood dripping out of his mouth from its lowered head—It’s Arima.

“Arima!”

I shouted and checked on him. And saw bruises that came just recently, swollen eyes from punches, he’s reeking a disgusting smell and drenched. I immediately bought him to the infirmary, where the clinic nurse took care of him. When she saw him, she exclaimed in shock and immediately treated him.

“What happened to him?!” said the clinic nurse.

“I saw him lying in the bathroom, all beaten up,” I said, scowling.

“Put him down on the bed. I’ll check on him. If he’s in the worst condition, then I need to call the ambulance.”

“Please do, thank you”

“All right, I’ll check him, just go to your class and I’ll call you later once I report this to the teachers.”

“Okay, thank you.” I became hesitant, but in the end, I bowed and left the clinic.

I then left my way back to my classroom with a scowling expression. The nauseating sensation vanished upon seeing Arima earlier. I calmed myself down. While walking back to my classroom, I started mulling over things about what happened to Arima.

Those bruises and swelling are all new, which means it all happened in between classes or way before lunch break. However, I can’t think of anything that can lead him into that state because—Wait, does that mean someone has been bullying him ever since then? Or just now?

First, he had a poor reputation because of the false rumors that escalated throughout the school. Base on that, it could be the root or—Nagasawa. He’s the only guy I’ve been always wary of since the beginning, plus adding that today they started surrounding Ide Aoi. Was it all coincidence?

I’m not really the type of guy who helps others, but I can’t turn my back around someone like Arima who’s a good nature guy. He’s someone who appreciates others, who can return favors. He’s a good guy that got into a shitty situation and became a victim of spreading false information. Honestly, I’m surprised he’s the one who initiated the conversation when he experienced those stuff—If I were him, I would have trust issues. Arima is a tough guy.

I’m still recovering from my memories, and I have problems on my own. Then this shit came next after the next day? What a coincidence. Also, I need to talk things out with Shiori and ask her what happened afterward. I clearly remember that she had a few loose screws on her head, so I need to keep my guard up while near her.

And, about Naoki’s case, too.

I might know what her circumstances are now. From just remembering that dude from before, I could still feel the rage inside me, wanting to kill him over and over again. Naoki certainly had a fear of men because of that—A memory that needs to be left forgotten.

Now that I think about it, I have those same thoughts when the guy who hit on Naoki the first day, the Oye guy. He’s someone I despise. For that reason, I need to do accompany Naoki to her class ceremony this weekend.

After I got back in the class, it went for a while before the classes ended. Soon later, a teacher knocked on the door.

“Is there a name in here, Okita Tatsuya?”

“Yes.” I raised my hand in the air.

“Okay, please follow me.”

“Yes.”

Taking my bag, I was about to head out; however, Naoki grabbed my arms with a worried look. So, I whispered to Naoki what happened, to which she exclaimed in surprise. One last thing before I head out of the classroom, I took a quick glance at Nagasawa and his circle, especially at the facial expression of Nagasawa—He’s perfectly had this natural face over him. To which someone would say he’s innocent, but I don’t buy it.

In the higher society, there are a ton of people who can wear fake masks that completely hide their emotions to fool some people. That’s why I don’t trust any noble. He’s still the first person on my list of culprits for Arima’s unfortunate beating.

The teacher waited for me, then we started walking together heading toward the guidance room—It’s the female guidance counselor. Honestly, I don’t trust her on Arima’s case because the sexual harassment before didn’t even get solved—Well, she’s against a rich, spoiled kid who had his daddy’s authority.

“I just learned that Arima Koichi was unconscious in one of the bathroom stalls when you found him, correct?”

“Yes, I was about to pee, then I saw him all beaten up on the flooring.”

“Are you his friend?”

“Yes, he’s the first person whom I befriended.”

“Okay, let’s talk about more in my office.”

We then went into the administrative building. Arriving at the guidance counselor room, and in there, I saw Hina-senpai sitting. She was surprised at my sudden arrival, especially at my current appearance.

“Uhm, Sensei, what is Okita doing in here? Did he get into trouble?”

“No, it’s the opposite. He found one of his classmates beaten up in the bathroom stall, unconscious. That’s why I called him here, to get some information about the guy.”

“Who’s the guy?”

“Arima Koichi,” I said.

“Eh—?”

“Anyway, let’s get into it right away. Arima was hospitalized now since he’s pretty beaten up badly and because of that, the nurse had no choice but to call the ambulance to him. And, they’re doing some checkups and tests on him. However, I assure you he's in good condition. The professionals shall treat him.”

I knew it. The bruises on him are not simple.

I might visit him later if things go smoothly with Shiori later. A ton of things, I want to ask her ever since that time. My guts are telling me she might be the reason why Sayuki-nee found my whereabouts. And what happened during all those times? There are still some foggy memories about what happened that day—That’s why I want to learn everything. My mind is in disarray.
