Meeting a new spectrum of people was still bewildering to me. Things changed a lot in my life. Despite having this awkward atmosphere between us, the fact still remains that I'm the outsider or the stranger of this group. Yet, they're making efforts to make me feel comfortable which I appreciate a lot.
The look that Kimura was giving had a mix of bitterness and confusion. From his eyes, I'm just probably an anomaly that intruded Naoki's life, despite telling him I'm Naoki's childhood friend. That's the vibe that he's giving to me. There's no animosity or whatnot, but I would also feel the same if I were in his shoes. He looks like an honest and kind person. Sympathizing him would tater his pride, so I'm not saying a word to him—obviously, he doesn't even want to talk to me.
On the other hand, I got a text from Yuki. According to her, she had checked every surveillance; however, no suspicious activity came from the people who attacked me. So, I texted back and told her to check the internet chat log from them. And also, those people were reported to the education board and are now under investigation with involvement in Arima's case.
I wonder if it's really their stupidity or someone else threatened them. If it's really because of their stupidity, I can't help myself but ridicule their stupidity and their entire existence. A waste of space on this planet.
"It's good to meet you again, Ikeda-san. Bye~"
Later that evening, we part ways from Naoki's old classmates and ended up with the group of friends of Kimura. They mentioned wanting to be with her until later which Naoki agreed upon. We strolled on a nearby public park. While walking, I'm observing Naoki from behind and saw her genuine emotions of appreciation towards them. They must have really helped her a lot during her tough times.
When we reached the park, Kimura who's beside us, went ahead calling for Naoki. "Um, Ikeda-san."
"Yes...?" Naoki turned around to see the flustered Kimura who's about to die at any given moment, at how red his face is. Naoki on the other hand, she's somehow terrified. If my conjecture is correct, she has an androphobia. Recalling the past events that I'm with her, it doesn't make any sense... And then, I recalled how most of our interaction with either Arima or Kanemoto-senpai, she always has this distance around them.
Furthermore, now, I completely understand what happened the other day when Naoki acted abnormally the night where Yokota and the senpai's visited her house.
"Can I talk to you? If it's okay with your boyfriend." Kimura then looks at me, asking for permission.
Deep in my heart, I really don't want it but that decision should be on Naoki's shoulder. "Why are you asking me? I'm not in charge of Naoki's decisions—Hold on, do I look possessive boyfriend?"
"Eh? No no, I thought you would reject it... Forgive me." Kimura made a fuss about it.
Naoki walked closer to me, grabbing the hem of my shirt. I patted her head. "Everything's going to be fine. If you don't want then don't. It's your own decision, okay? No one's forcing you, right Kimura-san?"
Kimura nodded.
"See? Plus, I'm here." I lowered my head and pinched her cheeks, stretching them. "Auuuu—~! S-shtop, it huwts! Schtop pwinching me!"
Shortly after, I stopped and smiled. "There we go. So, what's your answer?"
"Okay..."
"Okay, what?"
"I'll talk to him."
Other than Naoki and Kimura, we went on a nearby bench to sit, watching the two. Itsuki broke the silence by mentioning the obvious. "I apologize for it, but—"
Cutting her off, I nonchalantly said. "That Kimura guy liked Naoki right?"
All of them were surprised by what I said, and with a few seconds of silence, they all nodded. "Naoki already knew about it. She was the one who told me."
"Really?" Akamine asked.

"Yes. From his actions, I could easily discern about telling his own feelings, am I right? He probably was planning this all along."
"H-How did you..." Shin stammeringly said.
"That's insane. Are you a mind reader?" Kaito added.
"Hahaha, I hope so. I've been actually observing your friend since the beginning."
"Uh—"
"Don't worry, I'm not that insecure that Naoki would leave me. We've known each other since we're toddlers. That's why I trust her."
"Yeah, we know. We've known that she doesn't show a slight interest in him. Kimura himself understand that part of her. Way before, she's been praising you a lot and making you look like an angel that descended from heaven. I can't even comprehend how one woman could go crazy for one guy. You must be an actual angel and add your appearance and demeanor to the mix. Are you actually?" Itsuki said.
"Hahahaha..." I just laughed.
After laughing, I responded. "That's one of the best things I've heard."
"Are you though? You know lying is a sin."
"I'm liking you more. You have great humor."
"Not really humor. It's a genuine question."
She's serious about it?! I'm bewildered!
"... Ahem! Let's just talk about something else. Anyway, thank you."
From then on, I tried my hardest to keep the conversation going with them. And, during my conversation with them, I could see the two guys being wary of me whenever I talk to the two. Funny enough, they look like they're about to pounce at me at any given moment. Plus, I'm pretty sure these two girls are not someone who would like someone just because of their appearance. Looking at two guys, I bet they're popular and girls would drive crazy over them. I ignore their glaring gazes and watch Naoki's backing while thinking.
'I hope this would be stepping for Naoki. I know that she's been avoiding and keeping it to herself.'
Later on, Naoki went back along with the dejected tearful Kimura. Itsuki and Akamine immediately went ahead, easing up Kimura. Naoki was smiling wryly, looking at him apologetically. Naoki and I bid farewell to them. Obviously, the atmosphere turned weird between us, but the other four fully understand what happened and didn't really make a fuss about it. They're good people.
When we're heading back home and holding Naoki's hand, I saw how dejected she is—so, I leaned closer to her ears and whispered. "Want to forget what happened? Let's go to a motel."
Naoki glares at me. "Tatsuya."
"Why? Do you not want it? I really don't want to go home right now. I want to put my mind in the gutter and forget some stuff."
Naoki pondered over her thoughts and ended up agreeing with a flustered face. I smiled at the sight of it.
