While having a lively conversation with Arima; Yokota, Naoki, and Yuki were having some fun conversations, as I could hear the three of them giggling. Because of the incident earlier, I’ve learned a few things about Yokota. Not only is she a reasonable person, but she’s also a committed person who will never back down on her goal. Why did I think of that? I saw it from her eyes.

The way she looked at me when I told her to keep that polygamous relationship between us. A person’s eye can reflect what is the truth or not by watching how it moves. It may not be effective all the time, but it’s still helpful, nonetheless. Yokota’s eyes earlier showed a firm and committed look that she’s serious about her friendship with the two. Then as for the two, I can see that they’re treating Yokota as one of them. There’s this hypothesis in my head about Yuki and Naoki. I feel like ever since, they’ve been together as friends, only two of them, and probably kept it that way because of something that had happened before. Plus, the envy gazes that they’re getting from other girls as well, might be the other factor of that as well. Naoki and Yuki probably have trust issues towards other people. But, seeing how they interact with Yokota lifted some ease in my heart.

Yokota Kazumi, a nerdy girl that has black-bluish hair and dark Prussian Blue eyes, pairing it with her black glasses. Her hair is tied in a ponytail, plus a hair clip in an infinity shape. Though her body may be more skinny, her chest area is enormous, about the same size as her sister Ai-senpai. If I’m correct, Ai-senpai is a well-known figure throughout the school because of her status as the vice-president of the Disciplinary Committee. She’s probably popular because of her cheerful and sometimes strict personality which is a huge contrast to Yokota, where Yokota is the type of person who got this firm and serious vibe around her. Like last time, I said that Yokota and Hina-senpai are more likely to be sisters because of their matching personalities.

We’re nearing the school campus gate.

Arima and I had this talk about his childhood friend, Ide Aoi. For now, I chose not to intervene furthermore. What I did may be helpful for the two of them, but Ide-san’s immatureness is one of the biggest factors why she’s having this mental crisis in her head. Then, Arima, he’s a huge blockhead too. I thought Nagasawa was the altruistic type, but to my surprise, Arima is the altruistic type. What a turn of events. Nagasawa and Arima had this bad blood relationship with each other. Furthermore, my suspicions about Nagasawa may be correlated to the root cause of Arima’s problem, which is the case of Miyata Miyuki—He may be the perpetrator. I feel bad for Arima. He accepted the role of being a scapegoat for her childhood crush.

Now, we’re at the school campus gate. But Ai-senpai and Hina-senpai were still nowhere to be seen. I took my phone out and checked the time—3:56 pm.

While waiting for the two senpais, Arima asked me a question. “Are you fond of desserts?”

“Yeah, but as long it’s not chocolate.”

“What the… Chocolate? Are you for real?”

“Yeah, there’s something about chocolate that’s making my throat itchy.”

“Sucks to be you.”

“How about you?”

“Of course, I have a sweet tooth. That’s why when you asked me earlier, I became excited.”

“Hahahaha… You sure got lucky.”

“Who wouldn’t?! I love sweets, I can live with only sweets.”

“I’m not sure about that. But, I guess your hyper-liveliness was because of your love for sweets?”

“Oi, I feel like you’re dissing me. Shut up.”

While Arima and I were laughing, Hina-senpai and Ai-senpai, whom we’re currently waiting for, finally came.

“Oh, they’re here.”

“Yeah, I still can’t believe that you hooked up with two beautiful senpais who were admired by most of the students in this school.”

“Shut the fuck up, that’s not true.”

“Oh, you betcha. I’m sure that’s totally what’s happening. You know… Your credibility to say those stuff to me became irrelevant since you’re in that kind of relationship with the two.”

“Shut up. That doesn’t mean I’ll take any woman that I took fancy on.”

“That’s still a possibility. What if there’s another girl who wants to join in? Will you accept her? But, you liked her too, of course.”

With Arima’s sudden question, I contemplated. “P-perhaps? It depends…”

“Puhahaha… See?! I doubt you’ll reject that girl. You’re a good-hearted person. You’ll probably be going to feel bad if you reject her. But, it’s not bad.”

“Sometimes, I want to smack you in the head hard. You’re more irritating in a different way than my brocon sister.”

“What? I’m just stating the truth. You completely ignored my compliment.”

“Fuck off.”

“Hahahaha…”

Ai-senpai’s voice is so loud, “Kazumi~ I missed you~” Then, following her, Hina-senpai greeted me. “Okita, good to see you. I’m sorry about the other day.”

“It’s okay, Senpai.”

“Oh, I presume you’re Arima, right?”

“Yes, nice to meet you. Hina-senpai.”

Ai-senpai was hugging her little sister. After Hine-senpai saw that, she immediately took Ai-senpai’s ear and dragged her out. Because of that, we followed Hina-senpai and Ai-senpai. Yokota was clearly used to her Ai-senpai doing that. Which reminded me of someone—My older sister. Nee-san doesn’t give a single fuck if there are people who can see it. Her shamelessness is on the astronomical level whenever it comes to me. Godspeed, Yokota.

We’re not at the shopping center, where I went last time to buy a new keyboard. And the time, where I saw the gruesome cruelty of Yuki that day.

‘What happens if Yuki gets angry at me?’

With that thought in my mind, I shivered in fright, just imagining the scenarios that I’ll be in. I think it’s better not to do that, for my own safety… Yep, it’s better not to test that.

While walking, the gazes on us got more intense, unlike the time we’re at the school campus because there more students came from other schools that are here to have a relaxing time after school. Five beautiful girls, walking alongside me and Arima. We earned a ton of envy gazes from other guys. I’m glad that I’m not alone on this journey, I have someone with whom I can share those burden envy gazes. But of course, I got a ton of curious or questionable gazes as they’re trying to figure out why I’m walking alongside them. Unlike Arima, who’s a handsome-looking guy with a clean haircut, which is a huge contrast to my long hair that covers my face.

Someday, I can walk freely in the streets without hiding my face. It’s hard to live in a life where you need to hide your face from others because of a condition that I can’t control. Someday. I hope so. But in the meantime, I need to stick with it.

Then we ended up in a fancy-looking shop with decorative designs. There were few people in the shop, they’re all students like us too. I’m expecting it to be crowded. We entered the shop, as we entered the bell that was hanging on the door rang, telling the store employees that there are customers.

Upon entering, I checked around the shop. Instead of a dessert shop, this was more likely a coffee cafe. Well, they do offer sweets. The cinnamon aesthetic color of the shop gives a sense of the calm and comforting vibe, but as well the strong stability foundation of the store. In addition to that, the powerful aroma of the coffee plus some sweetness tickled my nose. Because of that, I felt more peaceful. Cafes are really a place where you can relax.

After entering, the cafe employees greeted us. “Welcome to Gingerbread Cafe.”

But instead of ordering, we took a seat first. We sat on the far side corner of the store, we’re divided into groups because the maximum capacity of the table seats was only for 4 people, since our groups consisted of 7 people. Naoki, Yuki, and I sat at the other table. As for the remaining four, they all sat together. Naoki and Yuki sat in front of me, instead of fighting over who would sit beside me, which honestly made me smile.

“Tatsu. Tatsu. Aren’t you excited?”

Naoki became lively out of nowhere. That left me confused.

“What are you so excited about?”

“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?”

Then Naoki leaned her head closer to me and whispered these exact words to me. “It feels like we’re on a date.” Naoki then smiled brightly that made a male waiter slip on his feet when he saw Naoki’s smile. Luckily he’s not holding anything, or else it would be a disaster. It’s no exaggeration, but that thing just really happened. What a deadly smile.

I whispered back, “Naoki… That’s really the thing you’re excited about? We’re here with them.”

“Don’t ruin this for me…”

“Hahaha, sorry.”

Seeing Naoki’s cute, innocent eyes looking at me, I can’t help but pinch both of her cheeks. I don’t know why I found Naoki’s puffing cheeks adorable. Naoki grumbled while looking at me. Amidst that, I saw Yuki sitting quietly while texting someone on her phone. Whenever I would do this with Naoki, she would often get upset or get jealous. But after seeing that, she’s doing something serious. After a while, I stopped pinching Naoki’s cheeks.

“Muuu—… That hurts, Tatsu…” stroking her cheeks to ease the pain out.

“Fucking normies. Don’t flirt around here, you’re destroying the atmosphere of the cafe. Go somewhere else.”

Arima’s voice resounded into my ears, which annoyed me. I then looked at their table to where Arima was currently sitting. Upon looking, I saw his stupid grin once again. He’s so good at pissing me off.

“Oh, you jelly~?”

“Oho~ you’re going that way, huh? I’ll gladly take you on, Okita.”

Come on! Bring it on!

But, it got interrupted by Hina-senpai by saying. “You two, don’t disturb the others. We’re in a quiet cafe. Don’t ruin the atmosphere with your childish behavior. Remember, we’re the only one that’s in here.”

“...”

“...”

Arima and I shut our mouths out as we became ashamed of ourselves. I didn’t expect that someone would say that I’m childish. Ugh—That hurts. Because of that, Naoki giggled—Her way of getting back to me. Then after that, the server went to our table and asked for our orders. I ordered a cappuccino and chiffon cake. Naoki ordered a latte and castella. Lastly, Yuki, who was seriously looking at her phone, ordered a parfait.

After taking our orders, he went to the other table where Hina-senpai, Ai-senpai, Yokota, and Arima were currently sitting. I didn’t bother to listen to what they ordered as I became worried about Yuki.

“Are you okay, Yuki?”

“Hm. Eh? Oh. Nothing, it’s only family matters.” Yuki smiled wryly.

That smile of hers… There’s something wrong going on, I’m sure about it. I don’t want to overthink things but I’ve got a feeling that it’s related somehow to Shiori. I mean, Yuki’s family didn’t get any information that’s related to her which raised suspicion from me. There’s something about Shiori that I can’t describe in words.
