Chapter 3: Chapter 2

The heavy rain started to ease down and the night wind brushed at Feng Zhi Jiu's face and her cold body. She can't stop trembling and her wounds are starting to hurt so much. Even though she used to feel the pain in her body and normal pain for other peoples is nothing for her, this time pain is still too much for her sick body to hold on. Her pale lips turn bluish and her breath is ragged and heavy. She keeps walking for a long time and her body has already reached its limit.

 

Her damp and long hair stuck on her face and she brushed it behind her ear before looking around hoping to find a place to stay for the night. The area around her is still surrounded by tall and ancient forest. A few greeneries and bushes scattered around and some fruits can be seen in those bushes. On the ground, a lot of flowers and weeds she never saw before growing densely give a little bit of color  to the dark and gloomy forest. Some even emit faint light that helps her see her surroundings clearer.

 

After looking for a while, she sees a small cave covered by dense vine and tall weeds. She grit her teeth and drag her body towards the cave. She pushed aside the tall weeds around and walked slowly. When she reached the front of the cave, she moved the vine and bushes aside and found a small opening that was wide enough for her to pass. The inside of that cave is very dark. Nothing can be seen but she can smell clean and fresh air from inside.

 

She walks inside the opening while touching the cave wall to guide her way in. Her feet step on the cold stone and the cold feeling eases her painful feet.

 

Feng Zhi Jiu : It's so dark here. This cold feeling is not too bad. I think there is a water source inside. I need to find water first.

 

She walks for quite some time and when her hand touches the end of the walls, her sight falls into a small pond. Her eyes light up and she walks faster towards the small pond. She quickly bent down at the small pond edge and dipped her fingers on the water to test the temperature. The water is cold but she can't feel it because her body is colder than the pond water.

 

She takes out her fingers from the water and looks around the small cave opening. The ceiling is not too high, around two or three meters and there is water dripping down into the pond drop by drops. The water drop's sound so clear in the silent cave.

 

Plink… plink… plink….

 

She didn't see anything else inside that small opening and there is no way anymore. This is the end of the small cave she found just now. Sensing nothing around, she looks at the shallow small pond water surface and scoops the cold water using her hand. She bent down and drank the water. It's cold but very refreshing. Her throat that feels like it was burning before feels better and the water moistened her chapped lips.

 

She let out a sigh of relief and sat down on the spot. She rolls up her sleeves and sees that her blood has already dried up. It looks so ghastly and the wound is dirty.

Feng Zhi Jiu : I need to clean this wound before it become infected

 

She grit clenching her jaw and preparing her mind. She scoop up the pond water, use her palm and directly clean the dried blood on her body. Her whole body has countless wounds so she has no other choice but to strip down her tattered pajamas and clean her wounds thoroughly. It takes her hours to do that and after she finishes cleaning the wounds, her pajamas are also half dry. She wears it back and sits down on the small cave wall and loses consciousness. Her mind and body are already on the limit and can't stand conscious anymore.

Outside of the small cave where Feng Zhi Jiu still faint inside, the shadows guard look around and report back to their captain standing not far from the tree Feng Zhi Jiu uses as support before going inside the cave.

 

The shadow guard cupped her fist and reported, "Leader, there is no sign of the Mistress and no more trail can be found here." He stayed quiet after saying that.

 

The shadow guard leader frowned his eyebrows and his face showed a troubled expression. He hardens his expression and commands the other shadow guard. "Keep searching. Mistress should still be around here. Jun Shang found blood trails around the lightning strike area. Mistress is injured. She can't go far."

 

"Yes!" After they received the leader's commands, they spread out and started another round of careful searching for their Mistress.

 

Shadow Guard Leader : I hope Mistress is safe and sound or the consequences are unimaginable.

 

He shudders and goes searching for his Mistress before his Lord goes berserk and destroys another world.
