Chapter 569: Draught of the Phoenix Potion

Miracle Museum, Merchants' Market, Miracle City.

It was around 9.05 A.M.

A black-painted four-wheeled carriage arrived before the Museum's entrance and soon stopped with a screeching noise.

A moment later, a deep-blue-haired young man and a whirly blonde-haired woman stepped out of the carriage and quietly gazed at the Museum's interior.

Charles wore a black trench coat around his formal white shirt, a monocle on his left eye, and even put on a grey fedora cap over his head.

Meanwhile, Jessie wore a blue bias-cut gown with golden threads in the borders, high-heeled shoes, and a golden handbag and looked more like a high-class woman.

As they walked out of the carriage, Jessie moved closer to Charles and put her arms around Charles before stepping inside.

At that moment, one of the receptionists bowed his head and quietly invited them in. Unlike the last time, Charles and Jessie walked leisurely and whispered into each other's ears like lovers.

After some time, they moved towards the second floor and finally reached the grand hall where they kept the Draught of the Phoenix potion. But instead of moving towards the target, both took their time to look at each antique and finally arrived closer to the red vial sealed in a glass box.

At that moment, Charles had long released his invisible strings while covering the fake potion bottle and moved it toward the backside of the glass. Simultaneously, one of the invisible strings moved toward the alarm siren array and quietly deactivated it.

Before long, he moved the fake potion into the glass box through the small gap and replaced it with the original one.

After that, he stealthily took the original potion and quietly walked away.

It took him only ten seconds to steal the potion bottle from the well-protected box!

'Last time, I spent over two minutes here and almost messed up.' While thinking, he touched his communication bracelet and acted like he was talking to someone telepathically.

After that, he whispered something in Jessie's ears and grabbed her hand before moving away from the grand hall.

They soon returned to the first floor and told one of the receptionists they had to leave.

After a simple check-up, they left the Miracle Museum and soon moved toward the carriage they came from.

"Please drive the carriage to 95A Dew Street," Charles said calmly and stepped into the carriage.

On the other hand, Jessie couldn't hide her smile as she was amazed by his schemes and followed him.

Both soon comfortably sat on opposite seats and quietly activated the space lock spell.

"Uff! Why did you tell the coachman to drive the carriage to Dew Street?" Jessie leaned her back on the seat and asked.

Meanwhile, Charles thought for a moment and spoke solemnly.

"I'm just using every opportunity to delay Professor's plan, Jessie. Although Destiny Conquerors' are our target, we must remember that Professor is the main culprit behind this incident. Even during the Graveyard incident, he was nowhere to be seen. I'm damn sure Demigod Raphael's assassination is also a distraction. His goal might be something bigger."

"Something bigger?" Jessie went silent for a moment and asked.

"What is your plan?"

"I wanted to face Professor and kill him first. But that guy has more trump cards and isn't an easy foe. In truth, I might die in mere ten seconds. But the Destiny Conquerors members are not too hard to kill. I know a lot about them, but they know nothing about me. We'll use this as an advantage and reduce their number as much as possible. If we managed to reduce their numbers, we might win this battle without facing off the Professor!" Charles said calmly and added.

"We will leave the carriage once it enters Bronze Lane stealthily." Saying so, he leaned his body backward and closed his eyes.

"Okay!" Jessie nodded and quietly took out her new communication ring.

After that, she connected it using her soul imprint and contacted her trusted subordinate.

"Vana! Who is it?" A young maiden's voice came from the other side moments later.

"Isabella! It's me, Jessie. I was hoping you could send out our people and gather information about a few people in the Underground District. Can you manage this? I want you only to gather their everyday activities and nothing more."

Although her subordinate Isabella was surprised by her sudden orders, she responded and didn't say anything.

"I'll do it, Jessie. Do you need anything else?"

"Nothing much for now. But take care of Oliver's family and try your best to bail him out of prison. The security forces must have arrested him long ago and might be interrogating him."

A strange silence appeared from the other side, followed by a cold tone.

"What are you up to now?"

Meanwhile, Jessie made a forceful smile and spoke.

"I'll tell you in detail when we meet." Saying so, she quickly cut the call and quietly put the communication ring inside her space ring.

"It seems you made quite a good friend here," Charles commented casually and soon added with a deep sigh.

"It's not a bad thing to rely on others."

Although he had been through many betrayals and schemes, he also realized the importance of relying on others and trusting them.

'Alas, it's almost impossible for me to trust anyone completely.' At that moment, an image of a middle-aged old man flashed before his face.

'Why did I think of Runeth?'

A deep sigh leaked out of his mouth.

'I should finish this mission and take some long rest.' While muttering, he closed his eyes again and waited for the carriage to reach Bronze Lane.

A few minutes later, Charles suddenly straightened his back, cast 'conceal' skill on himself, and disappeared from there.

Meanwhile, Jessie also touched her golden bracelet and turned invisible.

As the carriage moved on the speed breaker, one of the carriage doors opened for a second and closed on its own.

Although the carriage driver noticed it, he didn't think much about it and kept driving toward Dew Street.

Meanwhile, Charles and Jessie quietly moved towards the roadside and soon entered the alley.

After that, both removed their concealing spell and quietly checked the surroundings.

"We are only a few hundred meters away from Black Beer bar," Jessie said and started walking towards the left side alley.

Two minutes later, both entered the bar like before and soon noticed most customers had disappeared.

"What happened?" Jessie glanced around warily and asked the bar owner Mike.

Meanwhile, Mike let out a dissatisfied grunt and spoke coldly.

"Thanks to certain someone's series of abduction of warlocks, even my normal customers got scared and ran away."

On the other hand, Jessie breathed a sigh of relief and added.

"We need another hour. After that, we will leave and never come back."

Without waiting for Mike to speak, Jessie walked past him and moved towards the second floor through the circular staircase.

Charles also didn't say much and followed her.

Before long, the duo reached the VIP hall and met with Marvin.

No, Charles also saw Arayn standing proudly on Marvin's shoulder and seemed to be gazing at his coat pocket.

"So, you went to take the Phoenix potion, huh? Drink it quickly and get ready. I only managed to alter the Defensive Mechanism array eight times." She paused for a moment and added in detail.

"Each error will occur every 45 minutes, so utilize it carefully. The first error will occur at 10. 17 A.M, second at 11.02 A.M, third at 11.47 A.M, fourth at 12.32 P.M, fifth at 1,17 P.M, sixth at 2.02 A.M, seventh at 2.47 P.M, and finally eighth at 3.32 P.M. Kill whoever you want in this particular minute like they killed Elder Seer and try not to get yourself get killed."

Upon hearing those words, Charles was stunned and soon took out his pocket watch.

"9.48 A.M.! We only have a few minutes to prepare." Muttering, he turned his gaze toward Jessie and spoke to her telepathically.

"Jessie, you have to act alone from now on. Do as I said and focus on a single target for every error. Even if I failed to kill one, gather information for the next target and send it to me by continuously thinking about me and the information."

Meanwhile, Jessie bid farewell to Charles and Arayn and felt the VIP hall.

On the other hand, Charles quietly moved towards the nearby chair and sat on it.

At that moment, Arayn flapped her wings, flew towards him, and soon sat on his left shoulder.

"Drink it quickly. I'll stop any elemental fluctuation from leaving this hall."

Saying so, it closed its eyes and fell asleep.

Marvin suddenly felt dizzy at the same time and fell unconscious on the table.

Before long, Arayn woke up in Marvin's body and stood up.

In the meantime, Charles felt that Marvin's wisdom power and everything became abnormally stronger and were dumbfounded.

'He has grown over ten... no, twenty times stronger than before. His [Artificer] class has been advanced to 5th... No, it's the 6th Rank [Truth Finder] now!' At that moment, he realized that the hidden Demigod in this city was none other than Arayn!
