An unknown Island, Azure Federation's Territory, Endless Sea, Edhen World,
It was around 7 in the morning.
Although the sun had appeared in the eastern sky, the surroundings appeared a little dimmer due to the cloudy sky, causing the surrounding atmosphere to be a little gloomy.
At that moment, a sailing ship with three masts came from the sea and soon docked next to the sandy beach.
It was a golden-colored one, appeared not too big nor too small when compared to the average pirate ships, and had more than ten people on board at that moment. A white flag with crimson-colored X-symbol also attached to the middle mast and fluttered due to the sea wind.
The first person to disembark was a young woman with a deep scar on her left eye who dressed in a long coat, waistcoat, high boots, and a black hat. She had long red hair, a tall figure, crimson eyes, and a sword in her right hand. She also wore a unique crimson-gem-embedded pendant around her neck and appeared beautiful.
She climbed down from the ship and soon stepped towards the sandy beach. Then, a middle-aged bald man and other crew members followed her and looked around at the green forest in curiosity.
Suddenly, the middle-aged man named Liam looked at the ground and asked
"What are your next orders, captain? Shall we do another night raid at Azure Corps?"
At that moment, the young woman subconsciously moved her hand towards her pendant, caressed the crimson orb, and sighed.
She was none other than Valerie, captain of the Golden Demon ship!
After the clone Charles's disappearance, she and her comrades set out on their own and formed a large merchandise corp. But just after six months, Azure Federation interfered with their business using a random excuse, and their merchandise vessels were sunken by the Rising Serpent Naval Commander!
Because of that, Valerie and the crew members were forced to flee and became fugitives.
Currently, they were nothing more than pirates.
After a long silence, Valerie shook her head and responded.
"Nah, let's wait for our subordinates to return with other vessels. Too many raids in a short time might get us killed. Let's rest here for a month or two-"
Before she could finish her words, she suddenly went stiff for a second and soon widened her eyes.
At that moment, she sensed some invisible power was scanning her from a faraway place and cried out in surprise.
"Enemy! Take cover!"
Before she could take a step back, the space in front of her started to distort and formed into a 2-meter tall portal.
A second later, a young man with blonde hair walked out from the portal and stared at her in surprise. He had a unique eyepatch on his left eye and wore a black overcoat.
He was none other than Charles in Julius's appearance.
A while ago, Charles returned to Edhen Plane and thought of returning to the Iron Kingdom.
But at that moment, he sensed his shattered soul shard was nearby and thought of checking it out.
Upon seeing his appearance, Valerie took a step back, conjured a ball of flame, and got ready to cast an attack spell at him at any moment.
"Who are you?" She asked him warily.
Instead of responding, Charles casually waved his hand and picked up the crimson-gem-embedded pendant from her neck using telekinesis.
Valerie's face changed as she noticed what he was doing and stared at him with bloodshot eyes.
She tried to utter a word but couldn't.
At that moment, she knew that the person before her was far more powerful than anyone she had encountered before!
"Legend Rank!" She finally said it out loud.
'A Rank-6 powerhouse!'
Her comrades also froze and soon broke into cold sweats.
Meanwhile, Charles casually caught the pendant and probed the gem using his wisdom power.
Inside the small crimson orb, he noticed that his clone's body was floating in the void like a boat!
What's more shocking was that the whole crimson orb contained the essence of Rebirth Flame that involves freezing the surrounding time!
'Present Time!'
Charles didn't care much about his clone's broken soul shard. Although he could repair it and give it a new life with the previous memories, he didn't have any high hopes for the clone Charles.
But the crimson orb was something else.
He could increase the Rebirth Fire comprehension and get a spell unique to 'Time-Stop' or something similar!
'Although I could slow down the time around my body by casting [Red Tear] Spell, I still need to increase my body Physique to nullify the gravity.' Indeed, the 'Time-Stop' related abilities had some deep connection with the Gravity, making it hard for anyone to move in that area.
'But the mysterious thing is no one would be squashed to death by the gravity power. They would only get restrained, and that's it.'
It was a strange power but powerful enough to startle even a Divine.
If he managed to comprehend the essence hidden in crimson core and create a spell similar to a 'Time-Stop' spell in the future, there would be a high chance he might become as famous as the Angel of Time!
When he was near the Rebirth Star, he only managed to comprehend the [Healing-Type] Rebirth Fire to reattach his shattered soul and didn't put much time on other types.
'But now, I can take things slowly.' He thought to himself, extracted the broken soul shard and the clone's body from the orb.
A second later, Charles's clone body appeared in front of him and soon landed on the beach sand with a thud!
Without minding it, Charles conjured the Rebirth Flame, made it into Red Tear, and sealed the small Crimson Orb using it.
Then, he directly sent it into his Inner World and shifted his attention towards the broken soul shard, which resided inside the clone body. Then, he closed his eyes, entered the Astral Plane, and soon saw a small thumb-sized broken piece of his soul was attached towards the clone's heart area.
'The clone might need some time to recuperate.'
First, he extracted a part of his memories, added it to the shattered piece, and merged them.
Following that, he conjured a ball of Rebirth Flame, made another cube-like structure, and completely covered the soul shard to heal the shattered soul.
After that, he left the Astral Plane and opened his eyes in the Physical Realm.
Then, he squatted down and checked the Clone Charles's pulse to confirm if he was okay.
"His soul shard is healing. It will take a month or two for him to wake up." Charles spoke towards the dumbfounded Valerie, suddenly thought of something, and asked.
"For how long has he been sealed in that crimson orb?"
Meanwhile, Valerie snapped out of the shock and said in a stutter.
"H-He has been like this for more than two years, Your Excellency."
"Oh? Fire Bird's words are true? Only two years had passed in Edhen World? That's surprising." Charles muttered inwardly and asked.
"What day is today? Can you tell me the exact date and year?"
Valerie showed a stiff smile as she heard his words and answered.
"It's Tuesday. 13th of December, Year 6408, Your Excellency."
Meanwhile, Charles nodded his head, enveloped his body in a crimson flame, and disappeared from there.
A strange silence appeared on the beach, followed by a heavy sigh.
"I thought Charles died there in the mountain. But I didn't expect he was hiding in that orb all this time." Valerie said in a deep tone, squatted down, and ordered.
"Liam, come and pick him up. We need to protect him until he wakes up."
At that moment, the bald Liam also hurriedly ran towards the clone Charles and grumbled.
"Why did you hide his disappearance from us, Captian? Elias will create a scene when he gets here and learns the truth."
"Who cares about that perv. Come on; take Charles to the ship first." Valerie said as she stood up and shifted her gaze towards the place where Charles was there before.
'Who is that guy?' That question lingered in her heart.
