Chapter 506: Runeth

Charles reappeared more than five km away from the unknown island and looked down at the roaring seawater.

Then, he touched his face and started to shape-shift into his original appearance.

At that moment, he had deep bluish hair, a deep-set jade eye on his right side, short eyebrows, olive skin, a fleshy nose, and an oval face.

After that, he released his wisdom power in all directions, covered 20 km surroundings, and cast [Flame Teleportation] spell on himself.

A second later, he enveloped his body in a crimson flame and disappeared from there.

The next instant, he reappeared 20 km away from where he was before and continued to cast [Flame Teleportation] spell on himself.

Before long, he appeared above a port city that belonged to the Azure Federation and moved to the southern part of the continent.

For the next few minutes, Charles traveled through many kingdoms, Forests, and woodlands and finally managed to reach the territory of the Iron Kingdom.

Just as he thought of continuing further, he suddenly sensed a strange invisible thread passing through space and tried to reach out towards his body.

If it were before, he wouldn't have sensed its presence. But after he upgraded his Eyes, he saw the mysterious thread clearly and smirked.

He then conjured a ball of Rebirth Flame, shaped it into the form of a long sword, and directly slashed at it multiple times.

The invisible thread broke into multiple pieces the next second and disappeared from the nearby space itself.

"So, that's the Destiny thread controlled by the World's Will, huh? No wonder I got controlled by the World's 'Will' last time." Charles muttered slowly and disappeared from there.

Three seconds later, he appeared more than 60 km away from where he was before and soon shifted his attention toward the 800 meters tall golden magic tower.

It was a 5-layered cylindrical tower with a golden dragon symbol at the top.

Each layer of this tower was further divided into five levels and had 25 levels!

Rebirth Magic Tower!

He saw a strange forcefield-like layer that appeared around the outer surface of the tower and seemed to be protecting it from any outside force.

As he turned his gaze towards the entrance, he also saw hundreds of young men and women entering and exiting the tower through the 3-meter tall golden gate, and the whole area appeared busy.

After a quick scan, Charles shifted his attention towards the City of Iron and finally towards the Iron Tower located on the northern side of the city.

"It seems nothing changed in the past two years." He muttered inwardly and started to descend towards the entrance.

At that moment, the students, teachers, and even the guards noticed his presence and were startled.

Even though he looked more like a young man than some powerful mage, almost all of them showed an alert look on their faces.

In a second, all of them distanced themselves away from him and got ready to attack him. Some unsheathed their weapons, while some started reciting incantations, and so on.

Meanwhile, a few elite guards in golden armor stepped forward and aimed their spears at him.

It all happened in less than 2 seconds which startled Charles greatly.

All of them acted uniformly and seemed to have trained for any unexpected situations!

'They are well-trained!'

While he was stunned inside, a particular silver armored young man stepped forward and asked in a cold tone.

"Who are you?"

Before Charles could open his mouth, an illusionary female figure materialized in front of him and bowed her head towards him.

She had long silver hair, blue eyes, elongated ears, and looked around 25 to 30 years old with a big chest.

Currently, she wore a golden floral gown, a gem-embedded necklace around her neck, and had a delicate figure.

She was none other than the Tower Spirit, Zera!

"Welcome back, Tower Master." She said in a smooth voice.

Meanwhile, Charles raised his eyebrows and asked.

"Did you scan my soul?"

On the other hand, Zera nodded her illusionary head and added.

"Rune Master is waiting for you in the underground basement, Master. Do you want to meet him now?"

Charles thought for a moment and agreed.

"Send me there."

Just as he finished his words, the space around him started to distort, and soon he found himself standing in a different scenario.

Charles glanced around and noticed that he was in a familiar hall filled with mysterious rune circles, experimental tables with materials placed on them, cloning pods, and many other spooky things.

He even saw a large red cube at the other end of the hall and grinned.

It was the same system cube he had placed here two years ago.

But unlike before, the system cube appeared in a half-dismantled state.

"Well, well, well. I thought it would take more than a decade or two for you to come here. Here you are! What happened to your eyes?" An ancient voice came from Charles's right side, causing him to turn his head subconsciously.

When he turned, he was astonished to see a man standing in front of him wearing a white robe and a simple face. The man was a bit old, around 50, and had a large frame, a face covered with wrinkles, and a pair of spectacles on his face.

He had long blonde hair, amber eyes, a muscular body, and looked around 180 to 185 cm high.

"You are?" Charles showed a surprised look and soon widened his eyes.

"Mr. Runeth?"

Meanwhile, the blonde-haired male nodded his head and said with a smile.

"This is how my original body looked like, lad. So, how is your journey?"

"I encountered some extraordinary things." A smile appeared on Charles's face.

Then, he started walking towards the System Cube and told him about the whole story.

"It seems you encountered a lot of incredible things," Runeth muttered after hearing his story and then added in a solemn tone.

"But... That Trickster Goddess seems to have put you in a high spot. Otherwise, she wouldn't have placed her Mother's last Will under your's wing."

"Last Will? Mother? You mean that mysterious plant in the Pocket Dimension?" Charles got stunned by his words and asked in puzzlement.

Meanwhile, Runeth nodded his head and answered.

"If I'm not wrong, the Goddess Zaqiel must be the same Mother Goddess who was born in the Easica Plane. It's the Plane that gave birth to many powerhouses and Gods. A few millenniums ago, I once heard that she fought the Light God Welos and Goddess of Judgement in Easica Plane but died protecting the Plane. But your story says something different. Maybe she managed to save herself at the last moment and fled?" He rubbed his chin and soon shook his head.

"I don't know what happened at that time, but I am damn sure that Mother Goddess is the person I know from the Easica Plane. So, she died in that rural Plane, huh. The appearance of Myxenta's Dice, Light Divinities, Truth and Judgement related artifacts, and Nature power all indicate that she must have moved there for a specific reason. Haa, you don't need to worry much about this matter anymore.." Saying so, Runeth arrived near the 3 meters large Red Cube and stared at the artifact deeply.
