Chapter 10: Chapter 8: The badge and The Burden

Its morning in team YLOW's dorm.

Yin's peacefully sleeping on his bed in a strange position. His right arm is above his head while his left is over his chest. his right leg is hanging off the bed and his left it resting over his right.

He's also snoring.

Lapis, who has an annoyed look, and Wisteria, who has an indifferent look, are both looking down at the sleeping Yin. They also both have their school uniforms on.

"Damn idiot for sleeping in." Lapis growls. "So irresponsible."

"Well, none of us set an alarm." Wisteria states.

"Still!"

Olivia comes out of the bathroom and she's also wearing her school uniform while she brushes her hair. "Shouldn't we wake him up?"

Lapis pushes Yin off his bed and he lands on the ground with a thud. Then he jumps up and stretches, showing off some muscles. "I'm awake!"

Lapis gains a small blush. "Go and change into your uniform!"

"Yeah, yeah. I'm on it." Yin walks past his teammates and into the bathroom.

"He's so stupid." Lapis grumbles.

"It's not nice to talk about your leader that way." Wisteria says, but Lapis just ignores her.

"But he did help us defeat the Deathstalker." Olivia adds. "So I think he has potential to be a great leader."

Lapis moves some hair behind her ear. "Whatever."

Yin then walks out of the bathroom with his School uniform on. "Carpe Diem!"  He walks towards the door.

"What?" Lapis and Olivia question.

"Seize the day." Wisteria explains as she follows after her leader.

"Interesting." Olivia comments as she follows after the two.

Lapis just follows them.

As they walk down the hall Olivia's ear twitch as she passes by Team RWBY's dorm and she hears construction tools? "Huh?"

After a while the team enters Professor Port's class. A couple teams are already there.

"Hello Team YLOW, just take a seat anywhere." Port says.

The team nods and they sit down on the front left of the classroom.

Later

"Monsters!" Port is 'Teaching'. "Demons... Prowlers of the night. Yes, the creatures of Grimm have many names. But I, merely refer to them as prey." He laughs.

Team YLOW is focusing on the lesson, for the most part. The team is sitting by letter order.

Port continues. "Uhh, and you shall too, upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Now as I was saying, Vale, as well as the other three kingdoms, are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world. Our planet is absolutely teeming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces. And that's where we come in. Huntsman! Huntresses..." He winks at Yang, and Yin doesn't like that. "Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves. From what you ask? Why... The very world!"

"Eyyy-yeah!" A random student raises is arm up, but noticing no-one else cheered he quickly shrinks down back in his chair.

Port continues his lesson. "That is what you are training to become. But first, a story. A tale of a young, handsome, man. Me. When I was a boy,-"

Yin tunes out the story and plays with his pencil. 'I wonder when lunch is?'

Lapis elbows Yin in the side and she motion to Port.

Yin tunes the lesson back in. "Despite smelling of cabbages, my grandfather was a wise man. 'Peter,' he told me,-"

Yin groans and slams his head into his table. Lapis grows angry and she pulls Yin back up, by the hair. Yin eye's turn Lilac and he looks at Lapis in anger.

"Pay attention!" She whisper yells.

"Fine!" Yin whisper yells back. "Just don't touch the hair!" His eyes go back to red.

Port's boring lesson continues. "In the end the beowolf was no match for my sheer tenacity. And I returned to my village with the beast in captivity and my head held high. Celebrated, as a hero." He bows, but nobody claps for him. "The moral of the story? A true huntsman must be honorable. A true huntsman must be dependable. A true huntsman must be strategic... Well-educated... And wise!"

"And our leader is only three of those." Lapis groans.

"I feel like you just insulted me." Yin whispers.

"She did." Olivia whispers. 

Port continues. "So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?"

Wisteria goes to raise her hand, but Weiss' shoots up first. "I do sir!" Weiss shouts.

"Well then, let's find out." He looks to his right where a cage with glowing red eyes and snorts are heard. "Step forward, and face your opponent."
