“You’re terrible, Towa-kun!”
Rin had tears in her eyes and was clutching her controller tightly.
She then looked sadly at the scene in front of her.
On the TV screen is a character (Pinku-chan) who was fine until a few seconds ago, smoking and twitching.
“I worked so hard to get this far…”
“I’m sorry. But I can’t stop on a dime.”
“Sob, I’m sorry, Pinku-chan…”
What we are playing is a training game known as the Friendship disruption Game.
The catchphrase is ‘No matter what happens, don’t hold a grudge. Can you do it?’
I was suspicious at that point, but as a basically solo player, I couldn’t figure out why this was a friendship disrupting game.
It was just a normal game where you collected items, enhancing them, and fighting with them.
The essence of this game is that it bugs when played with multiple players.
Just to give you a few examples.
CPU strength is automatically set to the strongest by a bug.
An item that kills you instantly if you take it, and it suddenly pops up at your feet as if it’s aimed at you.
Furthermore, the player’s durability is paper thin.
A mysterious warp and followed by a collision… and so on.
It’s a very unreasonable game, and it’s a storm of bugs when you’re not solo.
This would be fatal for a game that is played by multiple players.
It’s hard to see a lovely character raised with care to die.
Yeah, I can’t stand to see goddess wiping her tears with a handkerchief in her hand.
“That’s why I told you to not play this game…”
“Uh, I couldn’t control my curiosity…”
“Well, it’s the way the game is designed, so there’s no need to be depressed.”
“That’s right… but I will live strongly for the dead Pinku-chan.”
“Oh. Well, good luck with that.”
“Okay!”
The goddess puts her hand on her chest and is enthusiastic.
I never thought she’d get emotionally involved in a game like this…
If this was a depressing game, it would have been really bad.
Let’s choose carefully when letting Rin play games.
I sighed as Rin put her hands together in front of the TV.
◇ ◇◇
After finishing the game, we went out to buy some food.
She wanted to buy something else, but it would be wrong to leave it all to Rin, so I had to carry her luggage and accompany her.
Rin’s outfit is still the same as before, in my jersey…
She looked better than me in casual clothes.
No, it’s better to say that it doesn’t look stranger rather than it suits her.
Well, this difference in specs is unavoidable.
“It’s starting to rain.”
“Well, it suddenly got dark, so maybe it’s just a passing shower?”
“I hope you’re right…”
Rin and I stood under the eaves of a closed store, looking up at the suddenly darkened sky.
Unlike me, who was looking up at the sky in a daze, Rin was looking at the sky anxiously and fidgeting.
The rain, which had been falling in patches, suddenly changed its momentum and poured down like a waterfall.
If we hadn’t taken shelter from the rain early, we would have been soaked.
As if tearing the dark clouds in the sky in half, a ray of light appeared.
A low rumbling roar followed a little later.
The sound startled us, and we screamed “Whoa!” “Nya!”
Such a scream felt out of place and when I looked sideways at Rin, she was hiding her face with her hands.

“Did you just scream like a cat…?”
“If you can pretend you never heard…”
The goddess is still hiding her face, but her ears, which she couldn’t conceal, were bright red.
Rin, however, was trembling slightly as if she was scared of something.
“Rin, could it be that—”
The sound of thunder rumbled once more.
Rin’s body shook and she jumped into my chest and put her hands on my back.
My thoughts stopped for a moment.
I’ve been hugged many times, but I had never been squeezed like this from the front.
Rin’s body heat felt close, and her heart was racing.
I was flustered, but I kept my cool.
I called out to Rin, trying to appear as calm as possible.
“…Eh, Rin. Are you not good with…thunder?”
“Yeah…”
I can’t see Rin’s expression because her face is buried in my chest.
But she weakly admitted that he was not good with it.
Her slender body felt smaller and thinner than usual.
“When I was a… kid, I was… in an elevator when the power went out due to lightning. I got trapped in there. Since then, I’ve always had a weakness for lightning…
“Is that so…”
Rin shivered and shuddered as she squeezed out her voice.
Trauma from childhood is hard to overcome.
If not dealt with, you may be stuck with it for the rest of my life.
That’s why she was trembling and so frightened.
“But it’s strange…”
“Yup?”
“When I stick to Towa-kun and listen to the sound of your chest, it makes me feel strangely calm…”
“Is that so…”
I gently pat Rin’s head, trying not to look at her as she cries on my chest.
I was tense, nervous, and uncomfortable.
I thought of saying ‘This is not a good idea when we’re not even dating!’ If I did that I would have to pull away.
But…
You can’t abandon a girl who is this vulnerable…
I don’t know what I should do to help her in these situations.
I can’t say anything clever, anything snappy, or whisper sweet nothings.
I don’t have enough life experience to do that.
The only thing I could do was to try to soothe the crying child.
Naturally, that’s all I can think of.
So—
“Do what you want until you’re ready…”
I can only say it to a brusque and unfriendly manner.
Rin laughs on my chest.
I glanced at Rin, curious about her condition, and our eyes met.
She has a bewitching smile on her face that tickles men’s hearts.
“Then I’m not satisfied, so I’ll stay like this forever.”
“Give me a break…”
I chuckled and looked up at the sky with its thick clouds.
I could faintly see the light shining in the distance of the sky.
The rain would probably stop in a little while.
After all, it was a short time until the rain stopped, but we remained in this position.
