[There are have been six eras over the course of time in Deva. They consist of the Dracon, Purgis, Demelian, Elogian, Taun and Chiargo Eras respectively.
The Dracon Era was the time when the Dragons were seen as an object of worship by some of the people who didn't know about how the world was and the true nature of the dragons.
That era was littered with dragon cults that worshipped dragons as their deities. As we now know, dragons are mortal beings that are nowhere close to deities, but for some strange reason, the dragon worshippers would receive power from what they were worshipping.
It is now theorized that they didn't know what they were really worshipping and were actually worshipping the Old Gods of the Underworld. Who knows how that happened, but we have taken it as a sign that the Underworld want to make a move on the surface world.
Whether or not our guess is a bad omen or not, the fact remains that the dragon worshippers evolved through the eras and now fully worship the Old Gods. They have blended into society and become practically invisible to the naked eye. However, the church still continues to hunt them down..............Excerpt from: THE OLD GODS]
[George's POV]
It is said that one word is enough for the wise, but in some cases more than one word is needed for the truly brilliant. This perfectly explained the current situation playing out in front of me.
Professor A, visibly enraged by the scolding given to him by Josephine, was now looking at her with a very icy gaze.
Josephine gulped but still stood her ground.
"I said they shouldn't have died that way. It's not right."
Professor A voice got even colder.
"You're very brave, I'll give you that. But what I want you to do is to repeat that one more time, and be prepared for the consequences when you do that."
Josephine shuddered, but still opened her mouth again, only for Amanda to come up behind her and cover her mouth and apologize for her.
"She's not in her right mind. Please excuse her impolite words."
Professor A nodded with satisfaction.
"I thought so."
By this time I was beginning to lose consciousness, so I didn't see what transpired next, all I know is that when I woke up, I was in a bed that reminded me of a hospital bed, but not quite the same.
I looked around trying to make out my surroundings. I was in a room resembling a hospital ward, with a curtain separating me from others on both sides of me.
The room smelled like disinfectant, something I had never liked the smell of. The machines next to me let out steady beeping sounds, signaling my good health. I had probably been put on one medication or the other, because I couldn't feel the wounds I was supposed to have.
"Where is this place? Is it even in the facility?"
A voice came across from me.
"Are you okay George?"
That voice sounds familiar. Could it be....?
"Rachel?"
"Bingo."
Anger welled up in me.
"You really are crazy if you have the gall to ask me if I'm okay after you left me for dead!"
"I can admit that wasn't my best moment, but I had to do what had to be done in order to survive."
"You think that can be called surviving? You betrayed me!"
"Like I said, not my best moment. But, if you were in my position, you would have done the same thing."
"I never would have abandoned someone to escape!"
"You say that now, but I'm sure you would've done the same thing if you were in my position."
".........."
"See? You can't even answer."
My voice had fallen to a quiet whisper.
"I wouldn't have done that."
"What did you say? Speak up."
"I wouldn't have done it!!"

"Easy there. If you dislike the idea so much, you can keep lying to yourself. But just know this, the time is coming when you will willingly throw away those foolish ideas of yours."
"Shut up."
"It's too bad you're like this. We could've been such good friends."
"Shut up!"
"Okay, okay, I'll stop talking."
Hours passed, and I fell asleep again. When I woke up, I was back in my bed in the dorm.
"Hey, you okay?"
"Huh?"
I looked to the side and saw Alistair was there with a concerned expression face on his face.
I tried to get up, only to feel excruciating pain all over my body.
"Ah!"
I exclaimed in pain and lay back down quickly.
"Are you okay?
Alistair looked even more concerned now. I sighed and replied.
"Honestly, not really. It feels like I was cut open and put back together."
Alistair chuckled, then his face went serious.
"Well, it's only natural you would feel like that. After all they literally did cut you up and put you back together."
At that moment, my blood ran cold.
"Alistair, tell me you're joking."
"I'm not."
".............Why did they do that?"
"Don't you remember? In the very beginning, Professor A said some of us would be undergoing a test to try and forcibly increase the concentration of our Hani?"
Thinking back, he definitely said something like that. I nodded my head slowly.
"Yeah, he did say something like that."
"Well it turns out that the test was actually surgery.'
Huh? I never heard anything about surgery! I watched him speak with a blank look on my face. Alistair stared at me.
"Do you seriously not remember?"
I nodded my head.
Alistair slapped his forehead.
"That's right, you were unconscious. Anyway, five people died in that thing you guys did, four from Josephine's side and one from Alex's side. After you guys got out, he took you guys somewhere while we went through that capsule test again. When we were done, three more people had died. A robot led us back to the dorm, so I only learned about what happened after you came back."
"So? What happened?"
"Literally what I just said. They cut you guys up."
"Come on, just tell me the truth."
"I am."
"Seriously?"
