I simply cocked my head to the side same as him. He then pointed to me and squirmed. Dad let go of him and he walked over to me. Mother then let me go and I stood up on my baby feet. He then picked me up and held me close. He looked into my eyes and said:

“Ok let’s head out there!” said dad picking both of us up.

Something was not right. The voice was quiet but not gone. I try to speak to it in my head.

“are you there? Who are you?” I ask.

“I am your youngest brother in this life. All reincarnated beings get a perk. Mine is being able to read souls. Yours seem to be magic and probably something else everyone gets at most three. There is a peasant girl in the village that also is a reincarnated person,” he said.

“Ok,” I respond in my mind, “but what are her perks?”

“it’s the ability to her acidic blood from her hands,” he stated.

“ok so will she be at the talent show?”

“no”

As we were talking dad put us in the carriage. It looked expensive. Though it also looked beet up and old. Like it was older than my father himself. There were two horses pulling it. One was brown the other one was black.

There was enough room for us all somehow. Mother and Clara started talking about her future and who she should marry. I ignored it and kept talking to my brother. He talked about how the people of this world were stupid and they didn’t even remember that they came from Europe.

“are you sure?” he asked.
