"Everyone, take heed,” a calm voice speaks into everyone’s ears.
"We shall march to the village and show off our numbers. Then, we will send a negotiator to force them to surrender. Then, we proceed to their headquarters. With this, we can make a pincer attack."
The speaker is a man.
He has no distinguishing features, and he would not stand out in a crowd. However, there is no emotion in his seemingly man-made black sclerae or the scar on his face.
"Begin.”
With that one single word, they neatly form a thin line in a way that would appear to onlookers as the product of long, hard training.
They are forced to do so to fit into the small lane going through the thick woods between their encampment and the frontier village.
The man quietly sighs as he watch his men marching.
Once the form into a straight thin line, it would be very hard to monitor the happening at other parts of the line. However, he is not worried about their skillful conquest of the village.
The commander, Luin Haine, only feels the peace of mind that comes with knowing that success is at hand.
“Next time… I’d like to ask the other teams for help, and leave some of the work to them.”
Someone answers Luin’s gripes.
“That’s right, we’ve always been specialized in ambush, after all.”
The speaker is one of the men who had stayed behind to protect Luin.
“I mean, this is a strange mission. Usually, we would have backup from the other families for something as important as this.”
“Indeed, I don’t know why they only deployed us this time round. Still, this will be good experience for us. We can take this as training in infiltrating enemy territory. Hm, for all we know, that was what the people on top intended.”
Luin Haine unconsciously feel the wound on his cheek.
He remembers last week where he was forced to flee with his tail between his legs. The face of that blonde haired woman with shield and plate armour rises in his mind.
"I will capture that woman, that defence expert when conquer their headquarter. Then, I will treat her as sex slave." Luin mutters.
House of Hyuutia are noble of the Dioral Kingdom, just like Seraph. Their paladin, the 'defence expert', Myla Hyuutia was the one who most drew his ire. Besides the fact that she is an infidel who worship another god, she had defeated Luin while he was attacking their headquarter last week. That failure leads to this pincering strategy.
Myla Hyuutia is very capable, so in order to weaken her, they have to deprive her of her panoply. Showing off their large armies from three directions.
While he is indulged in fantasy, out of sudden, chaotic voices come from everywhere along the line.
"What.."
From the thick woods, many armed men come out and immediately jump at them.
The men behind him and before him are all slashed by these suddenly barging enemies.
"Since when they hide in the woods?"
After one long glance, he rubs his eyes, and when he looks a second time, the image doesn’t change.
It isn’t several dozens.
It isn’t a hundred either.
A numerous army of unknown number cut in their line as if they’re coming to swallow the whole batalion.
Both of them stare dumbfoundedly at the scene unfolding before their eyes. There’s pretty much nothing left they can do. That is what they’re thinking in their hearts.
"My lord……what do we do? Do we contact someone?"
"Don’t be ridiculous…… how do we do that in this situation?"
Luin is lucky no one attacks him yet but his men collapse at a very fast rate due to the ambush.
"From where such large number of men came from?"
The man who was talking to Luin is stabbed by an enemy.

Despite the overwhelming advantage, I join in to kill the enemies. Our ambush is successful.
When we suddenly appear everywhere, they will crumble especially the commander can't see what's happening along the long line.
They are helpless and they can't escape. This is truly a massacre.

(Side story, weeks ago in meeting hall of Grand Forest Villa)
"A flag, huh……?"
The one who started off the discussion was Jill Gustav.
"I am happy that you found a new country but each country must have a flag and emblem. Even noble house has emblems."
It’s not like a flag makes us capable of fighting in a war, but if it’s something that raises morale, then it might be worth considering.
"Swords and spears are common so it might be hard to recognize your own flag."
"Well, most nobles who participate in battle have flags like that."
"Have you thought of anything, Jill?"
"If you don’t mind……how about something like this……"
The picture that Jill drew on the piece of paper was one of a spear-wielding warrior; it’s so well-drawn that I could tell at first glance that it’s me. I think she’s skilled enough to make a living if she went to everywhere to draw…….
"I’m not so shameless as to put a picture of myself on my flag."

becomes dejected. Nevertheless, the drawing was quite pretty. Is this how Jill sees me?
"What are you talking about?"
Clementine came over into the big hall of Grand Forest Villa as she must have heard us chatting about something.
"Oh, a military flag!? That's good. It’s not just for battle, but you could hang it up in different places too, so let me to draw something."
And all of us were frozen when she finished her drawing.
"How is it? With its large, elegant wings, this winged lion is a legendary mythical beast that symbolizes beauty and strength……and its name is-"
"What’s that?"
Hearing Clementine’s voice got loud, Sekrit also came over.
"Cockroach? Those things are nasty in summer; they have wings and fly all over the place."
Clementine hit her head against the table.
"Hei. Don’t associate it together with something so disgusting! This is a beautiful mythical beast!!"
"What!? It’s your fault that the drawing is so ugly! Besides, it has nothing to do with Hiro!"
Oh, it isn’t a caterpillar with wings? ……if I say that out loud, it would hurt Clementine.
"I’ll draw an appropriate flag for Hiro. If this is on the flag, everyone will be surprised for sure."
The thing Sekrit drew quickly and smoothly certainly had a deep connection with me and I remembered seeing it before. I saw it pretty recently actually. Yes, everyone would be beyond surprised.
"…………Pervert woman."
"Stupid Sekrit……"
"Hm? What? It’s well-drawn, right?"
The thing Sekrit drew was a fully erect cock pointing up towards the sky. If we march with this on our flag, it would definitely attract the most attention.
"If you put something like this on the flag, you will bring shame to him forever!!"
"It’s better than that cockroach!"
"……Both of them are no good."
Jill had gotten tired of their antics and sighed.
Lyla entered while watching the two bantering.
"What’s going on? Oh, a flag."
Jill urged Lyla to take a brush as well, after becoming unconcerned, saying how anything she drew would be better than those drawings the other two did.
"It’s finished. What do you think? I’m not that artistic so it might look awful."
It was a picture of a plains bathed in the warm rays of the sun with several pigeons flying. Just as Lyla said, it wasn’t the best looking, but it was a picture that made you feel warm and fuzzy and soothed your heart.
"……So, are you going take this flag with you when you go out and kill people?"
Jill was right, this picture ilwasn’t suitable for a military flag at all.
After that, more squabbling happened and nothing could be decided on. Just when I thought it’s fine not having a stupid flag, Sylvia entered.
"What? A flag for our country?"
"Do you have any idea?" Jill asked.
After pondering for a while, Sylvia rubbed some red dye on the paper.
"It’s fine like this, isn’t it?"
The paper was entirely red on one side and there is no pattern or design on it. It saved effort and time this way too.
"Eeeh, this is boring. Let’s make it a dick."
"A cockroach is better than such a frightening flag."
"Rejected, I’m going with this. Jill , I’ll leave the rest to you."
"Yes, I’ll draw it right away!"
Something came to my mind and I stopped Jill.
"Wait, could you draw a simple image. A book at the left and a hammer at the right. But make it very simple and could be recognized right away as book an hammer."
"Hmm. That's easy."
Seeing the red flag by Sylvia, I immediately wanted to name our army as Red Army, reminding me to the Soviet Union in the past.
The hammer was a symbol for workers or people at the ground, often used by left wing socialist movement.
The book, on the other hand, represented the importance of knowledge. In the previous world, I was a book worm after all.
"Complete!"
We look at the flag made by Jill. Pitch red and two obvious image of a book and a hammer.
"We will go with this."
I concluded.
And that is how the flag of the Hardlett army became a red flag with Communist's feeling.
A little while later, I brought up the topic of the flag when I was talking with Jascha Alatt.
"Isn’t red good? It stands out."
"A red flag……? I don’t have the authority to speak about military flags, but I’m not really fond of red. When I see red, it makes me feel unsettling."
Hmm, it’s also the color of blood. For a guy who isn’t good with violence, I guess he wouldn’t like it.
