Galactic Officer stranded in a medieval world

After his daring escape from the Federal Subjugation Navy, Kliest Nevell, a Commodore for the Republic of Man, finds himself stranded. What remained of his command was his heavily damaged Dreadnought and its arsenal as well as its ability to produce its own goods. Although, his Dreadnought could account for a nation itself, it was heavily damage and was in the midst of heavy repairs.

Fortunately, he was able to find a secluded star system, away from the hands of the Federation and the monstrous Myrophix, the enemy of the Galaxy. With this discovery, Kliest embarks on a new journey of colonization to secure the planet of its resources and his safety. However, this would prove difficult in spite of his peaceful, diplomatic approach on the planet's natives.

Despite their technological advancements and the planet's inherent supernatural composition that science can't explain. The native's arrogance and hostility against him proves to be a superior mindset. As such, Kliest fears the worse as his colonization efforts would be in vain as the looming choice of Occupation enters his mind.

What can a Galactic officer with such capabilities do to such a backwater world?
