Chapter 14 Ranking Tournament
Cardory nodded as she thought Odin did not hear it clearly.
“However, there’s a condition. Among the first-place prizes was an advancement book from the Church of Life. You have to give it to us.” Cardory sternly said. The reason they wished to join the tournament was due to the advancement book. With Odin’s appearance, Cardory had the hope of receiving first place.
“No problem. I should be one thanking you for giving me the emblem. It’s a great help for me.” Odin smiled.
“The tournament will begin in three days. So you still have time to practice, we’ll be rooting for you.” Cardory patted Odin’s shoulder and left the arena.
Soon, three days had passed and the tournament officially started.
The day before the tournament, every combat club was required to draw their order of match, including the Detroit Ground Combat Club. Due to Carna being unlucky, they were the first to go up.
The one they would be facing was Blue Vine University’s third-ranked Flaming Combat Club. Its size was huge and every year it could attract numerous students. It had several formidable people among the upper echelons. The small-sized Detroit Ground Combat Club was incomparable to it.
Carna cursed at her unluckiness when she heard they were facing the Flaming Combat Club’s second-in-charge, William. William was far stronger than Cardory, thus she was worried Odin was unable to defeat him.
However, Odin himself was not alarmed by it. Every day he was unwaveringly practicing his basics and Carna was anxious!
On the day of the match, Odin was amused by the Carna who was on pins and needles. He patted her back to calm her, “It’ll be fine. Later just look at how I torture this William. Don’t forget about my perverse learning speed.”
The audience was filled with people and most of them were here to watch William. After all, it was rare to see the Flaming Combat Club’s powerful second-in-charge in action.
There were bets for this kind of match. Everyone would bet some of their money on the winning side and they chose William. It was natural for the audience to do so since they never heard of Odin in the combat community before.
Followed by the sound of the horn, the first match began!
Odin expressionlessly looked at the muscular 1.9-meter man in front of him. He was secretly shocked by it and wondered how someone trained to this extent.
“Brat, I’ll give you a chance. Surrender or else you won’t even know how you die.” William grinned with his rows of stained teeth as he sinisterly stared at the ignorant kid that challenged him.
“Why don’t you start instead of babbling nonsense?” Odin frowned in annoyance as he prepared his combat stance.
The provoked William was furious and charged at Odin with a roar. For Odin, an attack that was full of Strength while lacking in Agility was unable to threaten him. It was impossible for him to lose this fight not to mention learning and tempering himself during the confrontation with William.
Dodging William’s attack swiftly, Odin flashed behind William’s back and attempted to chokehold him. However, it was not that simple since William was experienced.
As if knowing Odin’s plan, he abruptly turned around trying to grab Odin’s arm that was heading toward him.
“Looks like I’ve underestimated you but you’re still an ant-like existence! Muahahahaha! DIE!” William laughed maniacally as his body was trembling, even the entire ring was shaking.

However, Odin was as cool as a cucumber because, during the past few days, his combat techniques had reached a higher stage. Although he had repeatedly practiced the basics, he was able to fuse his techniques with his mental strength and Crow God’s Spirit Warlock. Thus, he broke through the level of exhibition skills and mastered combat skills.
Odin just mastered the basics of combat skills nonetheless his EXP and Mental had a boost. Even Cardory was not his match anymore.

While Odin was defending William’s fierce attacks, a message box appeared with a ‘+’ at the end of it.
Although he was better than Cardory, William was still the Flaming Combat Club’s second-in-charge. His Agility was lacking but his Strength was off the charts, a typical specialized person.
Facing this kind of enemy, Odin had the confidence of defeating him. But to prevent any mishappenings, he clicked at the ‘+’ symbol.

Level 3, Level 4… The number stopped at five. This meant that during the fight with William, his combat skills reached Level 5.
Now his current strength had leaped a few steps.
Just as William punched at Odin when he thought Odin was distracted, Odin ferociously grabbed his fist with a palm.
“Kid, it’s easy for you to be killed if you’re distracted.” Although his fist was gripped, William remained calm as he insulted Odin.
Soon, he noticed something was wrong. No matter how much strength he put into it, he could not release his fist from Odin’s grasp.
William was a Strength-type martial artist and he never encountered something like this. But Odin did not do anything and the match entered a stalemate all of a sudden.
“What’s going on?”
“Why aren’t they moving? That’s weird!”
……
The audience became rowdy as the intense match suddenly came to a halt.
“I guessed that Odin is out of strength and Sir William is enjoying the joy of crushing him bit by bit.”
“But that Odin was grabbing Sir Wiliam’s hand tightly, what’s going on here?”
The noise of the audience could be heard in the arena and William’s expression turned ugly.
