The Princess of Dorne had tasked the guards to bring the boy straight to Sunspear, but the boy had other plans. He wanted to tour around Dorne, he wanted to see the land and the people, but the guards insisted on going to Sunspear, as it was the Princess’s orders, so the prince could only sighed and follow the guard’s lead.

But in the middle of the night, where some of the guards were sleeping, the prince snuck out of the encampment undetected, bringing only a pouch of money, some clothes, his bow and arrows, and his horse Athena. When the guards realised this, it was too late, the prince had gone far away, and they went back to Sunspear prince-less. They feared what the princess would do to them, but much to their surprise, she did nothing, she just smiled and looked out the window and dismissed them. They were glad that they didn’t get punished, but they wondered what the princess was up to.

After this, there were minimal sources on what the prince was doing, but there were some sightings of the prince around Dorne, each with their own stories..

His first sighting would be around Sandstone. Lord Qorgyle had some writings about him during this time.

[Lord Qorgyle’s Writing]

The Mad Prince, The Martells last son, rumour has it that in his young age, his mind became fractured, he started to talk nonsense about weapons of mass destruction and nature. But if there’s one thing that the prince is good at, it is storytelling. The smallfolk of Sunspear brought stories that they said that it was the prince who made it. My daughter liked these stories, so I suppose it’s all well.

But then rumours started to spread around my area, that the prince had been sighted in the form of a bounty hunter. The smallfolk said that they saw the prince travelling with a group of bounty hunters, hunting desert bandits in my land. They said that the prince wore a turban, covering his head and face, leaving only his clear blue eyes to be seen.

So I sent one of my guards to go to that group of bounty hunters. And there, they confirmed it, while the bounty hunters didn’t know that it was the prince, when he described what he looks like and his weapon of choice, we knew that it was the prince. The bounty hunters told my guards that the boy was efficient at killing, he wasn’t good at swordsmanship or even on using a spear, but he was proficient at horsemanship and archery. He often used his bows from the back of his horse, chasing the running desert bandits.

The bounty hunters also told the guards that the boy has tremendous sneaking skills, they often tasked him with sneaking inside a bandit’s camp and making a distraction, so the rest of the group could slaughter the bandits.

Perhaps the prince is not mad after all? Perhaps all his sayings are now true? So then, I was thinking of inviting him to the castle to talk. I send one of the guards to find him, but to no avail. They said that whenever they encountered the boy, he would always run away, and once he turned to a corner of a street, he vanished, as if the guards were chasing ghosts.

Eventually, I gave up, and I realised that the prince didn’t want to be bothered. But it was an honour to see his skills at a young age and not be the target. One day, he disappeared entirely, he only left a pouch of gold to the bounty hunters that have been helping him throughout the month.
