Chapter 18: BUTTERFLY EFFECT

Evans flew around the outskirts of the Hidden Leaf Village to get a rough idea of the surroundings. After memorizing the nearby terrain and paths, he entered the village through the main gate. [Well, nothing a good old genjutsu can't fix.] Since he still had over 24 hours to prepare for the upcoming battle, he decided to rest and eat a bit.

The guards under the influence of genjutsu didn't notice Evans' advance, and the sensory Ninjas didn't even sense any chakra since he was using his usual energy.

It was already night when Evans entered the village. The roads were deserted, devoid of any human beings. There were bugs buzzing around the street lamps under the dark sky. There were, however, too many bugs on the streets for some reason. And there was a weird suffocating silence around him. He could clearly hear his own footsteps and heartbeat.

"Aburame Clan's bugs," Evans mumbled to himself after noticing small traces of chakra radiating from those bugs around him. "So they listened to me in the end." He smirked, but his expression turned grim after the System window popped up before his eyes.

[**Aburame Clan is one of the four noble clans of the Hidden Leaf Village. At birth, members of this clan are offered to several special breeds of insects as a nest, residing just under their host's skin. These insects will then live in symbiosis with their hosts from that point on. Because of this, its members are characterized by their use of insects as weapons.

The clan members may also carry additional insects in jars or gourds with them on missions. The insects can leave and enter their host's body through various pores. They feed on chakra as a food source, making them quite deadly.

The relationship between the Shinobi and the insects is mutually beneficial. The host grants the insects shelter and allows them to feed off their chakra. Their body becomes a living hive of tens of thousands of these insects. And in return, the insects do the user's bidding, allowing the Shinobi to perform Ninjutsu-like techniques without the use of hand seals or chakra conversion.

The major defining trait of the Aburame clan is that all of its known members' eyes are shielded, usually by glasses, as well as they wear clothing that usually covers up most of their bodies.**]

Suddenly, the mission timer started to decrease faster without any warning.

'Butterfly effect... Chaos theory?!' Evans clicked his tongue at the thought.

His interference with the flow of history has created a butterfly effect.

The countdown to Nine-tails' destruction has just begun and time is dropping rapidly. Kushina is likely to give birth soon. But the questions ticking in his mind were when, where, and how? He has to take steps before Obito unleashes the Nine-Tails and uses his Sharingan on it to take control of it.

According to the original story, a special site was arranged by the Third Hokage, and right now, it's the most secure place swarming with Jonins and Anbu. It's the same place where Obito arrived and killed everyone. Among those innocents was the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi's wife, Biwako Sarutobi, and Anbu corps high-ranking medical Ninja, Taji.

Evans knew of the place Kushina gave birth. If his estimation was correct, it must be within the terrain surrounding the Hidden Leaf Village. He remembered seeing a newly built house a few km away from the village, but didn't see or sense anyone leaving or entering the village during his surveillance.

'Minato, that cunning man,' Evans chuckled lightly. He concluded that Minato must have used his signature move, Flying Raijin Jutsu. 'Did you really think you could hide from me?' He was about to fly but sensed a chakra signature behind him.

"There are too many bugs today, buzzing around where they don't belong," said Evans as he turned back and saw a black figure standing in the darkness, just like him. He continued, "Don't you agree, Tobi? Humm... No, you are Madara, or should I call you Obito?" His Stigma eye was glowing with a light rainbow hue.

Evans was surprised at first because he had never imagined someone could get so close to him without him noticing. But then again, it's not that surprising. After all, the person standing behind him is none other than Obito himself. Moreover, his mission timer stopped. The street lamp flickered, revealing the famous mask with one eye hole. Evans could see one red Sharingan glowing behind that mask.

"Who are you?" Obito inquired in a menacing voice as a large metal chain dropped from his left arm, "How do you know? Where did you obtain that Rinnegan?" Obito joined the chain with the shackles on his wrists with a small clink.

"Kamui, a unique Jutsu... Don't you think so, Obito?" Evans said with a large grin. "They say every Mangekyo Sharingan has its own unique abilities. And being a Kekkei Genkai, it can not be copied by anyone... But I wonder..." He said with an arrogant smile.

Evans' Tear Stigma has already analyzed Obito and his Mangekyo Sharingan's abilities. He can now use his Stigma with his thoughts without giving verbal orders. However, he wasn't interested in other Jutsu that Obito possessed. Evans' aim was his unique ocular power.

Obito dashed toward Evans after throwing six shuriken out of his special dimension, Kamui.

"Kamui," Evans muttered with a large grin. His Rinnegan glowed with a green hue.

The Shurikens passed through his body without harming him. Obito's eye widened in shock. He was seeing someone else other than Kakashi, using his unique Jutsu after all. He jumped back instantly.

"Bastard... Who... No, what are you?" Obito grumbled angrily. He was confused as hell because he didn't even detect any trace of chakra from the man standing before him.

"Existence Seal," Evans pointed his finger at Obito.

Existence Sealed...

Evans rushed over to Obito and grabbed his throat. Obito tried to use Kamui to escape, but it was useless. It didn't activate nor could he summon his chakra to escape. "We got a lot to talk about... But, for now... Stay quietly like a good boy." He absorbed Obito inside his Kamui dimension.

Mission Timer: 3 hours

'It dropped again... 3 hours at that. What the hell is going on? F*ck," Evans shook his head and flew into the sky. His destination was the newly built house. 'Can't even catch my breath...'

[**Kamui allows the user to transfer objects to and from another dimension. These transfers are often characterized by a spiraling void that targets swirl into or out of, distorting their form as they move between dimensions.**]

Meanwhile, at the special site, a barrier has been erected. Minato was in the center, holding that barrier with the others. Additionally, the other Ninjas of the Uzumaki clan and other Jonins are in position. Kushina was screaming in labor pain. Taji and Biwako Sarutobi were ready.

Within a few minutes, the cries of a newborn baby echoed in the room. It was a baby boy. Minato rushed over to hold his child, but Biwako stopped him.

"Hold it, no touching. The first face he should see is his mother's," Biwako stopped Minato and walked over to Kushina, and laid the newborn child next to her.

Then, after a heartfelt conversation with Minato, it's time to solidify the seal of the Nine Tails. As soon as Minato was about to do the sealing Jutsu, he heard a familiar voice and a thud noise.

"Don't let your guards down, Minato..."

Two white humanoid beings fell to the ground behind Taji and Biwako.
