Chapter 07, Onion-alien Mission, Continuing.

Tokyo’s suburb at night.

As the group started to follow him, Takashi was glad for the old fart’s death. He considered himself to be a nice person, but even he had limits. Those same limits that guy crossed. His file told everything : bribery, abuse of power, misappropriation of public wealth, not counting the number of times he abused females workers and civilians.

Guess who won’t be revived after this mission’s end ?

Now, I just have to get rid of the yakuzas. Hatanaka’s rape tentative was prevented by Sei’s and Kaze’s presence. But you and your accomplice will rot in hell before the mission is over.

The group was able to reach their destination.

“Ok, I forgot to add, while on mission you will be invisible to non-gantz people, same with the alien. But you will be able to interact with the environment so, don't try asking civilians and others for help and don't touch them. It can get weird fast. Split up in groups and look for the target. We must act fast, so first group to find it shall call the others.’’ He then went in an alley, followed by Sei and Kaze.

As the three were looking for the target, Sei took this opportunity to poke the elephant in the room.

“Care to explain to us how we ended here with you?”

“Sei, I would really like to know how you two went from a simple underground fight to both being dead even with your common skills, but this isn’t the time nor the place for that. I can promise you we will talk but later.”

They were looking in every alley as they walked in the street, checking everywhere. Takashi pointing his guns while Sei was holding her X-rifle and Kaze just followed, unarmed. He was true to his reputation in Takashi’s mind. Always fighting barehanded and reaping aliens apart.

The three of them raised their gaze as a sudden inhuman scream reached their ears.

“Morons can’t even listen to instructions”. Said Takashi angrily.

“Follow me, your suit will adapt and increase your speed and agility.”

He began to run faster than a human was supposed to, Kaze and Sei on his tracks.

A little earlier before the scream, the yakuzas were lucky to find a target for their bullying. The poor Onion-alien was already bleeding his mucus on the ground, and unluckily for him, on his aggressors, turning them mad. He had already tried to appeal for mercy by agreeing to give them it’s onions. Their only reaction was to test the gun’s effect on it. As Hatanaka’s subordinate hold the little alien, the yakuza shot it’s arm, making it scream.

Hatanaka’s cruelty was shown as he purposely shot the onion-alien’s arm’s extremity. Then went to shoot it’s arm away by going further and further above the bleeding part. The two yakuzas were so focused in their pervert game that they didn’t notice what approached them. They only looked at it when it’s shadow covered them.

A mad looking big sized version of the bleeding Onion-alien on the floor was staring at them. Just before it’s arms shot out to grad their backs by their clothes. The onion-alien dad smashed the yakuzas one against the other, like badly made cymbals. The choc and surprise was so great the two numbnuts let go of their weapons.

It was trying to smash them by increasing the strength of his arms when a sudden pain on it’s head interrupted it.

Inamori was pointing his gun at it, trembling and unable to shoot. Yamada and Kishimoto were next to him. While Kishimoto was stuck, frozen on place, Yamada tried the only thing he could think of that would distract the alien without having to shoot it as he didn’t want to hurt his teammates by mistake. Launching a plant with it’s pot that was in his reach.

The alien having lost his gripe on them as it turned to the new threat, the yakuzas were fast to outrun their fastest run. Abject panic drove them away as they forgot the zone’s limit warning Takashi gave them earlier. Not listening to the bipping sound in their ears, their heads exploded when they went to far of the mission’s zone.

The alien didn’t seem to have taken much damages with the crashing pot, but his mood picked new high in anger. It charged Masashi, holding one of his arm by it’s hands. Pulling him apart, it’s purpose was easy to guess, quartering. Masashi’s end was gruesome as his shoulders couldn’t hold any longer. His arms were ripped from it, letting his blood flow massively as his screams went higher and louder. Shock and blood-loss took his life.

Kurono and Kato arrived just as Masashi lost his life. Not wanting to kill the alien, they tried to talk to it, but he just attacked them. Kishimoto was still standing there while Inamori was laying on the ground, weeping. Kurono tried to take Kishimoto away, but she kept looking at Kato, her crush on him as visible as Kurono’s on her.

Kato was struggling to hold the alien away barehanded as he let his weapon on the ground when he tried to pacify the alien.

It was about to smash him and kill him when it’s arm exploded. The alien’s surprise and anger made him turn it’s head to the newest threat. Only for his head to be armor-kneed in it’s face, pushing him backward. He didn’t have time to fall on the ground as Takashi shot him using both of his guns. As it’s body exploded, Takashi finally looked at the team’s state.

The members in front of him were shaken, tired and afraid. As they breathed heavily, Gantz’ end-off-mission’s teleportation started.

The group, minus the corrupt politician, the yakuzas’ duo and the school-teacher found itself back to the apartment.

As gantz started to display the individual score for the night, Takashi interrupted it. Standing in front of it, he started to launch his macros on his tablet to control the black sphere.

What was now showed on it’s surface startled the group.

MASASHI YAMADA

Status REVIVED,

Location MASASHI YAMADA’s home.

“Hero’s back home like nothing happened. Memories erased. You’re welcome.”

Kurono, sensing he was done and would not revive anyone else asked him.

“Why don’t you revive the others?”

“Don’t feel like it”.

“Feel like it? Are you just let them be dead when you have the power to get them back ? Who do you think you’re to choose?”

“Who I think I’m? Well I’m not a goody two shoes for starter. I’m not here to try to negotiate with the aliens after I’ve been warned it would definitely try to kill me and the rest of the team. And I’m sure not a hero and don’t like to pretend being one. But sure, let see who you, Kurono would want me to revive. Is it the nice SUZUKI Goro ? Corrupt politician, with a very long white-collar’s crime list, to witch we must add extortion, power-abuse, sexual harassment and assault, blackmail, theft of public property. Or would that be the friendly yakuzas duo? The one who tried to rape poor sleeping beauty who you have a crush on here when she was naked? Nobody heard you protest at that time I’m wrong? Kaze and Sei were the only ones arguing against Hanataka. His accomplice would have used Kishimoto after he was done with her. Still feeling like bringing them back?”

Not willing to pursue the discussion with the young man, Takashi turned himself to the rest of the group.

“As a benevolent dictator, I will now allow you to choose.”
