Chapter 1 Come Again
One day, on a cold night. Under the rain, a woman with long flowing hair, wearing a blue t-shirt and long black pants, ran in a hurry with a boy on her back. Passing a small street with the ground starting to soften, the trees dance as the wind makes its music. Every now and then the woman looked back, making sure that the figure of the adult male chasing her was nowhere to be seen. In fact, sometimes he stepped on dry twigs, but kept running even though his feet were bleeding. He looked so disheveled with shortness of breath and tiredness that made his steps not right. It made the boy move a little.
"Relax, everything will be fine." He said, patting the boy on the back.
Faintly, a male voice around 40 years old could be heard calling out to him. However, he kept running as hard as he could until he saw the asphalt road ahead. He stopped walking as he stepped on the asphalt road. He exhaled slowly to calm himself. After calming down, he walked away without even looking back. He walked until he caught a large old house. He walked towards the old house that looked spooky with little lighting. Curved scrap metal is attached with a wooden board that reads 'Rose Orphanage'. Slowly he lowered the boy from the sling and began to change his stance, using both knees as support. His right hand reached out to touch the boy's head. A smile appeared on his face as he looked at the boy who was rubbing his eyes.
“Look Mom, Astan has to go into that big house. Later, Mother will follow. Astan understand?" He held Astan's face—the boy's name. Astan just nodded his head as a sign of understanding.
The woman who is Astan's mother stood up from sitting on her knees. Staring gently at Astan's eyes. He tightly gripped Astan's small and soft hand. Walking towards the iron gate, he slowly opened the unlocked iron gate until a loud creak could be heard in the rain. Along with a male voice that kept calling his name. With his breath out, he told Astan to come in. He closes the iron gate tightly by continuously asking Astan to stay away. He who saw Astan started to cry, made him sit cross-legged in front of the gate. Put your hand through the gap in the gate. For the second and last time. He rubbed Astan's head gently.
“Astan has to stop crying. I promise, I'll be back," he said softly with a small smile on his face.
"Mom promise?" Astan asks, wiping away tears using both hands.
"Yes, I promise." After saying that, he stood up and walked away from the iron gate. However, he realized that the figure of a man was standing behind him.
Within a second, a sharp object could be felt, piercing the skin of the back of the stomach to the front. Fresh red liquid came out so profusely from the stomach and mouth. With a feeling of shock and fear, Astan is still standing with his body shaking, cold sweat starting to appear. Clear water came out of the eyelids again without making a sound. Astan could see so clearly, the curved line on the woman's face. The lips filled with red liquid moved.
"You have to run," he said in a weak voice.
The red liquid came out again as the sharp object was pulled out. Without any more energy, his body fell instantly with a smile on his face. Astan can only be silent in tears without making a sound at all. Fearfully Astan looked up slowly, until he could vaguely see the face of the man who had stabbed his mother. Their eyes met each other for a moment. The air blew softly, making the man's slightly long hair move. Astan was surprised when the man took out something from his trouser pocket.
It felt like Astan wanted to run away, but it was hard to do. He remained standing still as a gun was pointed at him. The man pulled the trigger of the gun making his loud voice heard clearly by Astan. He was speechless in a thousand languages, Astan didn't move from his place. A knock on the door pierced his ears. He moved his head left and right looking for a sound, but found nothing. Only a female voice kept calling his name several times and then disappeared. A moment later, a female voice called out his name. Unknowingly the gun bullets were in sight. His eyes stared in surprise. However, the voice of a woman calling his name continued to be heard.
When Astan feels a hand touch his shoulder, he wakes up with a shocked face and ragged breathing. He took a few seconds to catch his breath with his eyes closed. When he opened his eyes, Astan caught sight of a woman with long hair, oval face and dark brown eyes, standing on the right side of the bed.

"Did you have another nightmare?" she asked worriedly.
"Yes," answered Astan curtly with a face not excited because of his bad dream. Even though he is 18 years old, memories and nightmares always come to him.
"Hurry up, it's time for breakfast." He quickly left and closed the bedroom door.
The calendar mounted on the wall makes Astan stare at him blankly. He rushed over to the light blue calendar, stood up and kept an eye on it. There are clearly four numbers written at the top right, namely '2027'. Astan let out a slightly rough breath, he walked towards the door, took a white towel and went to the bathroom. He put the towel on a plastic hook. Astan quickly opened the entire body cover and turned the faucet, instantly warm water poured down on him.
Not long after, the bathroom door opened, revealing Astan, who was wearing a towel around his waist. He stopped when he saw the figure of a woman who was cooking. The sound of the window opening made him turn and stare at the moving curtains. The figure of a woman dressed in white with long hair was sitting in the open window, playing with the flower-patterned curtains. In annoyance Astan closes the window, but the figure can still play the curtains. Astan's departure after closing the window made the woman confused.
Astan walks towards the cupboard and takes out a set of clothes. A long white shirt combined with black pants that are slightly above the ankles. He wore it with a dark blue tie. His reflection was seen in the mirror, Astan pulled the corners of his lips forcefully. He inhaled and exhaled to calm himself. After calming down, he opened it with a look of excitement in his eyes.
His wide legs went to the bedroom door and took a black backpack. He rushed out and sat down at the dining table. With a careful face Astan looked at the dishes on the table. There were about five kinds of side dishes for two people, Astan thought that was too much. However, all the kinds of the woman's cooking that always make Astan can't help but finish them all. Astan's gaze turned away from the table and turned his attention to the woman who was carrying a bowl of rice. He stood up and took the utensil filled with rice from the girl's tiny hands. Put it in the middle of the table and they began to eat breakfast in silence.
"Did you eat the medicine?" asked the woman, chewing the food in her mouth.
"Yes," replied Astan quickly.
"Later, sis. Rui is coming. Come home early, don't be too late." He said with a slight emphasis at the end of the sentence.
"I know," replied Astan with a chew of food. He lifted his head and had a faint smile on his face, but a little forced.
"Remember! 6:00 pm should be at home. If you're even a minute late, you're going to suffer the consequences." He repressed every word he said.
"I know I know. I won't be home late." Astan spoke quickly and continued his breakfast activities.
