Chapter 43: Visiting the library

Seth was laying down on his bed with Maya resting over his body, already so exhausted from their nightly activities that she had fallen asleep with Seth still inside her.

“Ahh~” a small moan escaped Maya as she lifted her head to kiss Seth while he resumed the movement of his waist and played with her breasts.

A few minutes of light pounding later, Maya’s body shook with a moan and she fell to her back.

Panting for breath, she looked up and frowned. “Anything wrong?”

“No, why are you asking?” asked Seth back.

Maya moved her hand to touch his well-defined chest before saying: “I don’t know. It felt the same as whenever I would use sex to calm my bad mood. You know I’m here if you need to talk about anything, don’t you?”

Seth’s eyebrows rose in surprise and he asked: “Am I that easy to read?”

Maya smiled and pulled him in her arms, letting him rest on her comfortable breasts as she said: “After having sex for so long, how could I not make up your mood? What is it?”

Seth sighed, and moved to kiss her neck, licking her earlobe once, as he whispered: “Taking Henrietta in my class made some trouble for my plans of taking over the kingdom.”

“Oh~~” exclaimed Maya with a small moan, her hand finding its way toward the back of Seth’s head.

“Make it hard again.” She said and, once she felt it hardening inside her, she continued: “Then why did you take her in?”

Seth started moving in and out slowly while placing kisses on her neck. “I kinda like the girl and she has some decent potential, so I just took her in. Only later occurred to me I would have no way of wiping the royals completely with her by my side.”

“Ah~~ go a little harder~~ AH~~”

“I see, you thought with the wrong head. Why not marry her and take the throne like AHH~~~ that?”

Seth’s movement stopped, much to Maya’s dismay.

<It is a possibility, but while she dislikes her family, killing the rest will still hurt her. She might even choose to turn against host. >

“AHHH~~” Seth frowned and suddenly plunged himself deep inside Maya, causing her eyes to widen as her nail formed a minor scratch on his neck.

Resuming his slow speed right after, Seth said: “She will end up hating me if I use her like this and kill her entire family to do it.”

“AH~~ Do you hahh~~ve to kill them? Ah~~”

Seth talked it over with the system again, but this time didn’t stop his movement.

“She will never pass the right of succession if I don’t eliminate her brothers, and the king will not give the throne to an outsider like me. Not in a million years.”

Feeling himself close to his peak, Seth sped up and with one swift push, released his load inside Maya.

“AHHH~~” Maya came as well, her moan serving as the morning call for the entire dormitory as her juices flooded the mattress below.

Calming her breathing again, she gently caressed Seth’s face before saying: “I have no more ideas, but I’m sure you’ll figure something out. When you do, know that I’ll be by your side.”

Seth kissed her sweaty forehead and nodded with a smile. “I know, but you forgot to create a sound barrier before giving the morning wake-up call.”

Maya chuckled and got up from under Seth, looking at the seed flowing down her thighs with a frown.

“I also forgot to protect my womb again. Let’s hope nothing happens.”

Ascended could easily protect their womb using their energies, avoiding any unwanted pregnancy from happening.

Seth smiled and created a small cluster of lust energy. “My body automatically absorbs lust energy, which is part of making a child, so you don’t have to worry about it.”

Maya nodded and cleaned herself up as she said: “That’s handy. It’s quite hard to keep a clear head with you knocking my brains out. I’m going to get to class since it’s already late. Are you coming?”

The two got dressed and returned to their respective classrooms. Seth took care of the girls and walked out of the academy gates. Taking a stroll through the middle ring, he drifted aimlessly while looking at the morning rush of the city.

‘I’m going to rule over this land one day. The question is when and how…’

A sigh escaped his lips, finding human relationships a lot more complex than he expected.

‘I almost miss the days when I could just kill my way to anything I wanted and didn’t have to worry about hurting other people by getting it.’

His thoughts first went to Maya. He knew that no matter what she said, she will get hurt as well if he did anything to Iris.

Looking towards the clear sky, a thought came to him and he asked: ‘Does water have its throne claimed yet?’

<Affirmative. Goddess Razim has been on the water throne for a long time. >

Seth chuckled at Razim’s name, sometimes wondering how someone like her could get a seat on the throne and hold it for so long.

‘How is her world now? I remember it being the most boring place I’ve ever stepped foot on.’

<The world Final Sea has remained unchanged for over an entire eon and the situation is not much different now from host’s memories.>

‘I would give Maya that seat, but I can’t find the heart to ruin such a glorious world again.’

Sighing, Seth realized his feet brought him in front of the city’s library. Is the most barren part of the middle ring. Most people from the outer circle could barely read. As for the other ones, they didn’t have that much interest in books. In his past life, he had read countless books, mostly in search of inspiration or a way to break through.

Being hit by a sudden nostalgia, he walked up the steps in front of the library and stepped inside. The inside of the library was just as empty as the outside. There were shelves upon shelves of books, but no people to read through them.

Seeing the empty front desk, he just stepped inside and walked through the library’s shelves. The books were mostly about history, simple maths, geography, wars and so on.

While browsing through the dustless books without an aim, he reached the back of the library where the reading space was. On a small sofa, a green-haired woman was sitting comfortably, reading through a thick book.

Seth came close, but she didn’t even realize it, seemingly too immersed in her book. Turning his head to the side, Seth peeked at the book’s title.

It was one of the few books on imaginative literature, and Seth had read it before. He also browsed this library in his desperation to ascend during his past life and already knew the librarian here.

She was a fallen of commoner birth, who failed to create her earth source but fell in love with books at the academy. After being declared a fallen, she came to the library and became its new librarian.

He was intrigued by her green hair in his past life, but in this one, the system easily let him know the answer. She was a descendant of refugees escaping from the kingdom of Life, who ran to this kingdom and hid amongst the commoners of a small village.

“Miss Aleena?” asked Seth softly, careful not to startle her.

The woman lifted her head to see who called her name. Once her eyes landed on Seth, she dropped the book in her hand and rose to her feet as she started rubbing the back of her right hand.

She quickly took a step forward and knelt on the floor. “Ascended Seth, I apologize for my lack of manners.”

The tradition for commoners was to kneel before both ascended and the king when addressed directly, but no ascended bothered about it too much. She, as a fallen of the academy, knew the amount of learning it would take for one to become an ascended and did it out of pure respect.

“Stand up. There’s nothing for you to apologize for.”, said Seth while extending a hand toward her.

Aleena looked up and hesitated for a moment before accepting his hand and standing up.

“How can I help you, ascended Seth?” asked Aleena as she continued rubbing the back of her hand with her head slightly lowered.

Seth sighed, sat down, and placed her book properly since it had fallen on the open side.

“Just call me Seth. You’re nervous for no reason. I was taking a stroll through the city and only got the idea of stepping inside when I arrived in front of the library. I have no particular reason. How do you know my name?”

Aleena heaved a small sigh of relief and said: “I’ve seen the ascension ceremony. Congratulation Asc… S-Seth, on having such gifted students.”

“Thank you. Since I made my way here, I wonder if miss Aleena would like to recommend me some books.”

“I wouldn’t dare. The knowledge of a fallen like me is nothing compared with ascended Seth’s.” Said Aleena, with her head still dropping slightly.

Seeing she was about to hurt herself from all the rubbing on the back of her hand, which Seth knew was her habit whenever nervous, he said: “Too bad, I was looking forward to it. Then I’ll come by another time. I hope miss Aleena won’t be so nervous the next time.”. He only came by on a whim, since he remembered the passion in her emerald eyes as she spoke about a new book she got her hands on.

Not wishing to make her even more uncomfortable, Seth smiled and walked towards the exit. He never got the time to know her in his past life, but she still sympathized with him, a student who was afraid of becoming a fallen, and helped him as much as he could whenever he passed by the library.

Walking out of the library doors, Seth looked back and asked: ‘How is her status?’

<Once she failed to make an earth source, she kept experimenting and created an extremely impure outline. That outline had crumbled after not practicing for a long time and is now slowly damaging her heart. She will develop heart disease in six years and die two years later. >

“Hmm… we’ll see I guess.” Muttered Seth before continuing with his stroll.
