Seth saw the notification and looked at the two girls that were resting their heads on his chest. Using his lust source, he quickly retracted all the lust energy he released inside the room, clearing everyone’s heads from the passion that had taken over.
Maya and Hollie looked up, feeling the change immediately, and asked simultaneously: “What happened?”
Chuckling at their behavior, Seth rubbed their backs and said: “Necros appears to be doing some moves I didn’t expect. I’m afraid I’ll have to cut our fun short to go meet him.”
“Can I come?” asked Maya quickly, not liking the idea of Seth going so deep inside Necros’ nest on his own.
Knowing what she was worrying about, Seth bent down and pecked her forehead. “I’ll be fine on my own. Don’t worry, not even Iris could do anything to me, so there’s no need to speak about Necros.”
After taking some more time reassuring Maya, he kissed the two girls and teleported away from under them. Wearing a casual set of clothes, he appeared atop the academy’s gates, looking at the middle ring in the distance.
‘How is it?’
<Necros has been looking for information on whoever keeps robbing him.>
<Being sure that was the work of an ascended, he looked into newly ascended that might be capable of that.>
<After everything that reached his ears about host, he is convinced you are the one responsible for everything.>
‘What measures does he plan on taking against me?’
<He sent someone to contact Veiled Ghost for a contract on host’s head.>
‘Hmm. Give me the location of those people.’
As a map appeared in his vision, with three flashing red dots traveling rapidly through the outer ring of the city. Seth teleported in front of the three people instantly.
Three thugs were running through the outer ring of the city when a man appeared in front of them out of nowhere. They all stopped and took a step back, ready to engage in combat if necessary.
One thug started questioning Seth while reaching for a dagger at his back: “Who are - “
Seth didn’t even bother listening to them, killing all three of them with a snap of his fingers and wiping their bodies entirely out of existence using his destruction energy, leaving no trail behind. He was sure that Veiled Ghost would have declined the contract anyway, but he felt it was better to make sure.
‘Mark Necros’ nest. It’s time for me to chat with my vials provider.’
Once Necros’ location appeared in his vision, Seth chose not to teleport there and started walking towards it. In the middle ring’s market district, Seth slowly approached a set of two doors leading to an underground tunnel.
There were two guards at the door, both of them looking toward the person approaching with their swords at the ready. Noticing a guard was about to speak, Seth sent a small thread of destruction and decapitated them both.
As their lifeless bodies hit the floor, Seth used the thread to cut the doors off as well and stepped inside the tunnel.
The tunnel looked like it was carved out of a single piece of white marble, a testimony of a fifth shell earth ascended powers over the earth. Small torches were lined up on the walls, lighting up the way deeper underground. Seth’s intrusion was quite silent, but the tunnels were infested by thugs, so he was quickly spotted by what looked like some kind of patrol.
Chuckling slightly, a large destruction scythe appeared in his hand, and he rushed forward towards them.
“Ascended, run to…” one thug was about to order something, but his words were cut short as a sudden blink from Seth paired with a swing of his scythe reaped his life in an instant. The other five were terrified by the display of strength and the headless body splashing blood all over the tunnel, falling on their butts with their backs against the cold marble wall.
They knew it was a hopeless endeavor to fight the ascended in front of them. Not even considering his ascended status, his ability to teleport was not something they had ever seen before.
Seth fixed his eyes on them and was about to kill them as well when a sudden notification appeared in his vision.
<Incoming.>
His smile disappearing, Seth jumped back and swung his scythe in a circular motion underneath himself. Two drills made of earth were cut in half, their pointy ends that were heading towards Seth falling loudly on the ground.
Once he landed again, Seth’s time source froze the earth under his feet and he waited for the newcomer to make his appearance. The marble split open and an earth pillar lifted a young and sturdy man from beneath the ground.
His hair was shaved off and his skin was pale while, having not seen the light of the sun for a long time. The newcomer was Seth’s target, Necros.
Seth smiled when he saw the rat come to greet him personally and said: “A pleasure to meet you, at last, Necros. I heard you were looking for me, so I figured I might as well save you the trouble. Here I am.”
Necros’ frown deepened as he looked into Seth’s eyes, but he found no trace of anything but ridicule in them. Waving the men trembling on the ground off, Necros waited for them to scurry their sorry asses away before saying: “Why are you attacking my place?”
“Attacking?” asked Seth with his eyebrows risen in surprise. “I was just coming for a visit, but your men here tried to stop me.”
Necros noticed the mocking look in Seth’s eyes, and his patience finally ran out. As his hand trembled under his long robe, earth energy left his source and infused itself into the entire tunnel surrounding them.
“Aren’t you the one who keeps robbing my treasury? Today I’m going to get your life as payment for everything you stole from me. I’ll show you what fighting an earth ascended underground feels like.”
With a face full of anger, the entire tunnel started shaking as its walls started approaching Seth, intending to squeeze Seth alive. Once the walls reached two feet away from Seth, they lost their strength and simply stopped, refusing the proceed further no matter how hard Necros tried to move them.

“What did you do?” asked Necros, feeling the earth energy stop following his commands once it got too close to Seth.
“Me?” asked Seth in feigned surprise. “I’m just waiting for you to show me what fighting an earth ascended underground feels like.”
“Is this all? If so, I’m not really that impressed.”
“Argh.” Necros grunted in anger and stomped his foot on the ground. The bottom half of the tunnel cracked with his stomp and retracted into the surrounding, creating a large chasm heading downwards.
Seth released the time energy he was using to mess with Necros and looked down as he started free-falling. He could only see darkness, so he did not know what Necros was planning now, but he was not concerned at all.
<Host, there is a high concentration of magma underneath. Iris has also felt the unusual movement underground.>
“Oh, boring…” muttered Seth, but he didn’t make any move immediately. Eventually, just as lava was appearing in their sights, Necros created an earth platform on the side of the chasm and landed on it. Seth smirked and teleported behind Necros.
Necros was sitting at the edge, looking down, when he heard a loud thud from behind. Turning to check it out, he saw Seth standing there with his arms crossed and a teasing smile on his lips.
“Wha?…” muttered Necros with a terrified look and took a step backward. His small step made him walk off the platform and he started falling freely towards the lava.
Calming his troubled mind, Necros created a new platform underneath him to stop his fall. Looking up towards his former platform, he clenched his fists hard enough that they made cracking noises before muttering: “Another monster. Like that bitch was not enough. Do I really have to go into hiding again?”
He could already see that Seth was just playing with him, so he was considering retreating to go into hiding again.
“Oh, come on. That would be boring.” Seth’s voice came from right behind him again, making Necros almost jump off the new platform as well. Turning around mechanically, he found Seth sitting down on the earth platform, supporting his head in the palm of his hand and looking at him with a smile.
“How?” asked Necros, sweat rolling down his head, his back already completely drenched in it.
“Convinced yet, Necros?” asked Seth with a shrug. “There’s nothing you can hope to do against me or any place where you can hide. Why not be a good little boy and give up already? Saves us both the trouble.”
Necros lowered his head with a tragic look, Seth being able to see his aura overflowing in green and gray. Thinking his job was done, Seth was about to stand up when a new notification appeared in his vision.
<Necros has started a source detonation. A peak fifth shell detonation under the capital will cause it all to crumble. Iris is already close and will arrive in ten seconds.>
“Huh?” exclaimed Seth as he looked forward, only to see Necros staring back at him with a savage and crazed smile. The flickering light of the lava underneath was only making his smile more terrifying.
“What a fucking moron.”, muttered Seth as his time source started spinning wildly freezing Necros with the same smile on his face. With a swift teleportation, he arrived atop a building in the middle ring and used destruction energy to cover the fluctuations emanating from the two so that Iris won’t find them.
Focusing his time energy to just cover Necros’ source, Seth allowed him to wake up. Necros had the same crazed smile on his lips, not even recognizing the change of scenery because of the small bubble of destruction around the two.
“Haha, let me show you and that bitch what I can do. Do you think your third shell energy can block my attack? All your tricks fade in front of my absolute power. Haha. You’ll all die, you hear me? Hahaha, I will bury you, her, the king, the royals, and this whole damned city in the ground. Haha haha.”
Seth listened to his speech with a small smile plastered on his lips. Necros kept laughing crazily but stopped after about half a minute with a confused look.
Looking down towards his chest, he could still feel his source, but it was out of his control, just like his energy earlier.
“What did you do to me?” asked Necros in panic, once more trying to detonate his source, but his attempt proved fruitless.
Seth smiled again before standing up. Locking a fifth shell ascended in time was difficult, even for him, and he knew his control wouldn’t hold for long.
As Seth took one step forward, Necros started crawling backward towards the edge of the destruction bubble. There was only despair left now that he couldn’t even detonate his source.
Seth teleported forward and grabbed him by the neck, stopping him before he would kill himself in his destruction bubble. Bringing his head closer to look into his eyes, Seth said with a serious look: “I would love to kill you here and now, but you still have some use, so consider yourself lucky.”
“If you think I would ever bow to you, you must be joking. Fuck you, kill me if you want to, and be done with it.”, yelled Necros in desperation, even spitting in Seth’s face at the end.
Seth smiled and ignored his rants.
‘How will the damage look if I carve these memories off his soul?’
<Source damage would exceed 85%. Not recommended.>
‘No shit, not recommended.’
Since he could not wipe a part of his soul, Seth only had a single choice. His perception source. His eyes started glowing, one golden and one black, as the entire bubble was slowly getting covered in two opposing forces, taking the same color as his eyes.
Necros’ eyes glazed over, a struggling look appearing inside them, but that was soon gone as well. Seth kept feeding him with his perception energy, only stopping when his entire source was empty and he noticed a notification appearing in his vision.
<Success.>
