Chapter 17: Facing the Heavenly Tribulation

[Note :  I changed the Heavens feel technique which he got from the novice package to a Sword, 

The reason well all the things that he got from the novice package are what he didn't know or felt like they were too sky defying just like the Chaos Physique and the cultivation technique , it stands to be the reason that it would also be the same.

And I already said that the Mc had a mysterious identity and he was a very strong person in his previous world so, he would already have known many fighting techniques which also includes sword techniques  and

 if he really got one from the novice package and  none of the techniques he had learnt in his previous were a match for it , then what was really the point of having a strong Reincarnated identity.

I mean even a simple transmigrated mc from Earth would have been fine if that was going to happen.

Afterall he had a system and he could get anything from it by using system points so whether he was a strong expert in his previous life or not wouldn't really have mattered.

So, that's the reason well one of them, though the sword would still have its own moves but he could still use what he learnt in his previous life.

And thus from the info you guys would have guessed (or not) that his past would play a huge role well not that huge but a critical one..

Another thing as I said earlier , I'm gonna repeat it again that he was strong , too strong in his previous life..

Sitting cross legged with his eyes closed on the ground, he ignored the system's notification as he was trying to consolidate his Foundation as he just broke through a moment ago.

 

But then he felt the heaven and earth origin energy around him forming a massive vortex, all of it surging around and curling up together and a Purple Coloured Lightening flashed in the sky.

 

As he heard the sound of clouds rumbling in the sky he opened his eyes and looked upwards, in the sky

 

"Tribulation clouds"

 

He muttered and smiled.

 

He had read many books about the cultivation world and he certainly knew about them.

 

Tribulation clouds were the most concentrated form of heavenly retribution as well as the most terrifying existence coupled with

 

the Purple Divine Thunder which he could also see in the sky and they mostly are the final lightening bolts when a cultivator faces the Heavenly Tribulation.

 

What's end for others he's gonna start with.

 

This time he didn't even look at the woman that brought him to this place, he could guess what was she feeling after seeing his Heavenly Tribulation.

 

But at this moment looking at the sky he felt it looked truely magnificent.

 

Revolving the spiritual energy around him he formed a simple defensive barrier that looked like a glazed mirror as he waited for the first lightening strike.

 

Boom!

 

As soon as it hit the spiritual qi barrier a slight sound echoed due to the impact.

Feeling the cracks forming in the glazed barrier formed by the spiritual qi, it seems like it won't be able to handle a second lightening strike and his thoughts came true as the moment second lightening bolt hit the barrier, it broke apart instantly, giving him a certain idea of the danger from the Heavenly Tribulation.

 

He also didn't take any defensive artifacts to use during the Heavenly Tribulation which Sister Qing desperately wanted him to take, after all the system told him that he can't use any defensive artifacts and only if he faced it alone, he would get unexpected rewards.

 

But the current situation seemed difficult for him as his defensive barrier broke just by two lightening strikes and although it was a simple protective shield made from spiritual qi and he could make thousands of such from the amount of spiritual qi he had left but just as it was a simple barrier, what it faced was only the second lightening strike.

 

And based on his understanding the power of lightening strikes will only increase further.

 

And the other thing was that he just broke through the foundation establishment a few minutes ago and haven't even consolidated his cultivation base.

 

But so what, he wasn't afraid, as the maximum strength this Heavenly Tribulation could only be Peak Foundation establishment and due to the Chaos Devouring Technique he already have a perfect foundation every time he breaks through, so his combat power is far more than that of other Foundation realm cultivators even though he just broke through the Realm.

 

And he had too many fighting and defensive techniques which he knew and used in his past life and although he couldn't use most of them now due to his low cultivation base but the ones he could use now are still too plenty. 

But he certainly will have to explain to Sister Qing where he got them, maybe if he only used a few of them, he can still put the responsibility on that Mysterious Expert.

But if push really comes down the shove then he would have to use the sword that was inside his system space, after all the system only said that he can't use any defensive artifacts, it never said anything about using weapons and he got the sword from the novice package and the things he got from novice package which one of them was not sky defining, The terrifying physique and the Chaos Devouring Cultivation Technique both were something he never thought would have existed.

 And The sword he got from it wouldn't be any less than them.

 But if he used it then, he won't really have any excuses left to explain, though he didn't have them even now, afterall his pathetic explainations which he himself didn't believe, he didn't think she believed it either.

It would have been a different case if he was really a naive five year old child, but he wasn't and neither did he tried to be.

His attitude towards her was same as he treated people around his age in his previous life and although he treated her too kindly as compared to anyone except his wife, it was still not something a five year old would treat an elder.

So, he knew that she was probably already having doubts regarding his situation or change, though he hoped that she won't ask.

Stretching out his arms he stood up from his previous cross legged position and looked towards the sky.

 He muttered as the surrounding qi converted into small liquid droplets that slowly condensed together forming a cyan coloured liquid vortex and with a slight movement of the index finger of his right hand it moved upwards directly colliding with the falling lightening bolt and both the Lightening Bolt and the vortex both disappeared at the same time as the aftermath destroyed the surrounding space.

 

But just after that collision, another lightening bolt fell without any warning striking towards his head directly at a vey high speed,

 but he was one of the strongest person in his past world before his reincarnation and power mostly comes with adversity, just like his. 

He had faced life and death situations too many times during his journey and if he were to say, his previous world was much stronger than the world he's currently reincarnated to so, even though he was only a foundation establishment cultivator now, his battle instincts were still there and they were constantly tingling since that spiritual vortex he created collided with the lightening , so even though the lightening strike was so fast that he couldn't put on any defence or offensive move against it, he still managed to move his head out of the way instinctively avoiding, which could have been a deadly blow.

 

Boom!

 

The lightening strike still hit his right shoulder, the impact made him falter slightly and some flesh tore out  off his shoulder as it began to bleed heavily, though he didn't really care about this minimal injury as he still had lingering emotions towards what happened.

Such thing had happened twice now,

First when he travelled to Doupo world and teleported to Xun'ers room and now,

it was the second time he let his guard down.

Though Xun'ers case could be justified as he was still trying to process how he could travel to a novel world, and furthermore he didn't sense any hostility so he let down his guard but even so, it never happened before.

But this time, he was still too careless..

Even though the system told him that this Heavenly Tribulation would be very dangerous he still.

Why wasn't he ready for the next lightening strike, he knew it would strike again and even though it happened too fast and just after the previous one but he did knew it would come again. 

An enemy never tells before he strikes.

In a battle, you have to be prepared for the next move of your enemy, to face it anytime and he wasn't prepared.

 

It seemed like the power he had in his previous life made him so conceited that he didn't take anyone seriously and he even looked down on this world. It would be okay if he was as powerful as he was in his previous life but now, he was nothing..

 

Not only does he not have the strength but even his soul was injured, so as he was right now even a golden core cultivator could easily kill him, not to mention the ones with higher cultivation so, what was he really proud for,

 his superior knowledge than others??

or that he had too many fighting and cultivation  techniques??

In the cultivation world it meant nothing without power. If it goes on like this, not to mention resurrecting Yao'er , even he will be gone.

It has only been around four strikes and now the thunder was gone??

Though the Tribulation clouds were still there, it seemed like his Tribulation didn't end

But he couldn't really figure out why this happened?

But then he heard the system's voice

He didn't have time to ask what the system meant when 

Boom!!

A terrifying rumbled echoed throughout the sky as he felt a heavy pressure on his body as he couldn't move,

He tried to circulate the spiritual qi inside his body as he didn't use it much afterall only four thunder strikes fell, so he still had more than half left , but he found out that his cultivation was sealed and he couldn't use any spiritual qi.

Seeing this he only had one thought inside his mind

Did he do something which he wasn't supposed to do?
