Chapter 23: Chapter 21: Vision

After hearing the crowd’s reactions, Mr. Gladius burst out in laughter. Though, when he first arrived here in this academy, last year to be exact, the reactions of the students were pretty much the same, he still found it amusing, even now. Indicating to him, that he was a well-known and sought-after man. To him, the excited cries of the students were just an acknowledgment of his power and reputation.

“Hahahaha!”

“Seems like I’m already well-known among you guys. But you got one thing wrong, I didn’t come to this kingdom to search for challengers, I came here to teach the new generations my swordsmanship. You may find it strange for a young man like me to start teaching, but I tell you something, I would be very grateful if you keep this a secret, ok?”, he told the crowd as his voice got quieter with every passing word.

“Actually, about 3 years ago, I received a vision of the mother goddess in my sleep. She told me that dark times are ahead of us and that I need to prepare as many people as possible for future conflicts. Else this kingdom is bound to fall, and many people will suffer from it. That’s why I decided to come here and start teaching students.”

While listening to Mr. Gladius’ secret, many of the students were squeezing each other’s hands as they could not believe what Mr. Gladius confessed.

“Whaaat, a vision?? And on top of that from the mother goddess.”

“OMG!”

To understand this uproar, it is important to understand that Gaia, also known as the mother goddess, was the most important goddess of this world, it was even said that she was the one to create all life and even this whole world.

Thus, she is treated even more special than normal gods. She was known all around the world, but people gave her different names: Mother goddess, Tellus, Gaea, or Jord.

The people of this world even dedicated a whole religion to her, the: Holy goddess church. This religion is the domineering religion in this world as around 80% of the inhabitants are a part of it. Though as previously said, each kingdom may have a different name for the mother goddess and slightly different beliefs, though they still are part of one big religion.

This religion has churches in every major city and even in some important towns. Also, the Ambrose kingdom and its capital Novum Domum have a few of their churches.

And now a few other facts about the church: The church is not bound to any kingdom, thus they do not have to follow any of the kingdom’s rules. Their churches are seen as a land of their own those kingdoms cannot interfere with. Though this has created some troubles in the past, as a murderer, after killing some people, entered a church and hid there. The knights couldn’t bring him with them, as that was legally not possible.

Luckily, they made an excuse for cases like that after the incident…

Anyways, Mr. Gladius continued.

“And for those who are interested, I didn’t manage to see the goddess’s face, I could only see her outlines, the rest was just bright light. But from what I could see, damn, that was really the body of a goddess, hehe.”, he said with lustful eyes.

The teachers who were standing in a line, a few meters behind him, looked at him with disappointment.

They thought that his way of speaking just now was outrageous and not proper for a headmaster like himself. Though nobody dared to say a word, as they feared that he might challenge them to a duel.

But the students’ reaction was quite the opposite of those of the teachers. They loudly cheered, and some of them stood up and jumped in the air. Some boys even got a nosebleed after imagining a picture of the mother goddess in their heads.

And Hiroki, well, he wasn’t reacting in any particular way. It had to be rather stressful if literally, everyone on the planet were to lust after your wife, but Hiroki didn’t really care about it, he had to. Else his inner worries might kill him. In fact, he was rather proud to call Gaia his wife and about the fact that everyone lusted after her, as it showed just how big of a fish he had caught.

It took a few minutes for the students to calm down and wipe off the blood from their noses.

During that time, Hiroki looked over to Gaia, but she nervously tried to avoid his eye contact as she looked in the opposite direction and tried to whistle, but she didn’t quite manage to do that.

“Sigh! At least you didn’t fully show yourself, because otherwise, we would have a lot of problems coming up.”, Hiroki told her as he gently pulled her over to his shoulder and began stroking her head.

That was his secret technique that was very effective if he had to calm her down and stop her from sulking. And just as it was supposed to, it instantly showed its effectiveness, as Gaia began to smile and bury her face deeper in his shoulders.

“Oh, and by the way… I’m rather curious as to how you got to know about future events. I mean there are some high-ranking powers involved. It’s even kind of strange for the mother goddess, such as yourself, to know about it.”

“You know, there was this gently old man that one day just visited me. It was a rather sunny day and in the evening someone knocked on the door. As I opened it there was an elegant-looking old man. At first, we actually talked about you and he told me how much he was sorry for me because I had to live without you. It seemed strange to me that this man knew about you and me, but I let it slide as I didn’t feel any bad intentions toward him.

After drinking a cup of tea and chatting for a while, he told me that dark times were ahead for this planet. Many evil forces would begin to show themselves one after another. He also asked me to give Mr. Gladius a vision in which I request him of training new students.”, she calmly told her husband as she was getting stroked by him.

But suddenly she turned mad, as she remembered something.

“By the way. That shitty old man told me that you would arrive soon. Because of that man, I waited for 5 years every day on that shitty veranda of ours, wasting every day without doing anything. Hiroki, send that man to me and I will kil-“, as she burst out in anger, she was interrupted by Hiroki.

‘Oh shit, oh shit. I have to calm her down using my super ultra-stroking technique.’

Hiroki grabbed his wife. With one arm he was hugging her and at the same time, whit the hand, he was keeping her mouth shut and with his other hand, he immediately started to stroke her head, this time at a more accelerated speed.

*Very effective*

‘Phew, I still managed to calm her down before she could do anything bad… She really should try to keep her anger at bay.’
