Chapter 34: Chapter 32: Level up!

After Pertina had brought in a slime for each student, she told them to grab a sword and pierce through the slime. The first students tried it, but the slime didn’t die. They were confused.

“Hahaha, how come you can’t even defeat a simple slime? Did no one tell you that you have to aim for their core in the middle?” somehow it seemed funny to Pertina that none of the spoiled nobles knew how to defeat a slime, when in fact no one knew about their core.

The students ignored her mockery and just did as they were told. They pierced the dark green core in the middle of the slime’s body. This time they managed to kill it. After killing it, the slime vanished into thin air and each one of the students received a system notification.

Thus everybody had o decide on which path they would take. After choosing their path, they had some free time, as Pertina had to put away all the cages. Hiroki met up with his friends and asked them if they have chosen the classes that they had talked about during their walk in the park.

“Yes, I did, I chose [Swordsman]” answered Aiko.

Aiko had chosen swordsman, as it fitted his stats the most. It was also his favorite occupation, so he had no complaints.

Eichi on the other hand chose [Swordmage]. He liked that occupation and he had to choose it in order to be able to receive Boreas’ teachings, as that elf was a [Swordmage] himself.

Though Yasuo was still with his new group, Hiroki told his friends that he had chosen to be a [Mage].

‘Now that I think about it, I should have made his stats go back to normal… he doesn’t deserve to be boosted like this.’ 

But he didn’t have much time to finish his thoughts, as Aiko had asked him which occupation he and Gaia had chosen.

“Well, as you know we already have an occupation, thus we just killed that pitifully slime and I created fake stats and gave us an occupation. Obviously, our stats are maxed for level one… I mean where would be the fun without overpowered characters?

Anyways, Gaia decided to be a [Mage] that will later focus on becoming a [Healer] and I chose the [Assassin] class.” Hiroki explained to his friends.

Though they would still use their normal powers, these fake stats were just security if they ever had to show someone else their stats. These stats could be seen just as some kind of decoration.

But what he didn’t tell them was, that he secretly added another occupation.

He did the same to Gaia’s stats. He was also proud of his second occupation, which he added to his status window.

‘If I show this occupation Gaia tonight, maybe I’ll get a sweet reward, hehe.’ He dreamed about tonight and had all sorts of lustful fantasies in his mind.

His nice dream was interrupted by Gaia pinching his side.

“What was that?”

But as soon as he turned around, he knew why his wife had pinched him. Professor Pertina was back again and it seemed like she had something to say.

“Ok, now that everyone has his class, I will talk about skills from now on. As you may have seen, each one of you got some basic skills…” 

Pertina went on and explained to them each one of these basic skills. Be it basic swordsmanship or basic magic. She even spoke about basic assassination techniques. She did that even though she didn’t know if there was really someone with the [Assassin] class in their group. 

If one would think logically, it would have been much more effective to ask each student about which class they had, she didn’t do that, as someone’s class was treated as a private thing, that nobody else should know about. 

The professor also believed that it only does you good to be knowledgeable in multiple areas, as that can also come in handy in a fight.

After that, she told the students about their program for the next few days. She said that for this week, it was planned to further train their basic skills and next week they would go on a field trip. But it seemed that they will get more information about that some other day, as Pertina didn’t give any detailed information about it.

Then the school was finished, and they were allowed to go home.

Leaving the academy building, Hiroki asked Yasuo if he were to come with them.

“Hm? Oh… no I will stay here with Auctus and the other guys. You can go first.” Answered the absent-minded Yasuo.

Hiroki and his friends didn’t say much and just walked away.

‘Do what you want to do, but if you come home after dinner time, you’ll have to starve. Because we won’t wait for you.’ Hiroki thought.

This time, they didn’t walk all the way back home, so instead Hiroki used his teleportation to bring them home in an instant. 

At home, Hiroki and Gaia lay down on the couch, as they held each other tight and cuddled. Aiko and Eichi on the other hand, went to the gym, to train their skills.
