Chapter 35: Chapter 33: Field Trip

Just like that, they spent the rest of their week.

They went to school and there they learned various things. From knowledge about the different demon races to other relevant combat-related information. Professor Clarus was very knowledgeable and thus the students could ask him all sorts of questions.

Together with professor Pertina, they trained every day and she told them about different techniques that were very effective against some of the demons.

On the last school day, which was Friday, professor Clarus had told them about the field trip that they were going to make.

In the next week, they would travel, together with professor Pertina, to a neighboring kingdom. It was the Tirl kingdom, known for its characteristic mountain regions and wellness resorts.

Many students were confused, as that kingdom was strongly associated with a vacation spot, thus they asked the professor if they would go on vacation and relax in a five-star wellness resort.

But that wasn’t the case, as professor Clarus explained.

He once again reminded them about the stuff that he had taught them over the course of the week. During the week he had told them, that the only way to find monsters, and thus also experience points, was, to travel to the edge of the kingdom. But still, there one would only find a monster once in a blue moon, making it rather ineffective.

But luckily, the neighboring Tirl kingdom had an anomaly in their territory. Due to them not being even near the demon territory, they should be a safe place. Though, because the system and also the universal rule is always trying to maintain a balance between good and evil, someday there appeared dungeons all around the Tirl kingdom. The appearance of these dungeons was the price they had to pay, for not being in direct contact with the demons.

These dungeons had different danger levels and several floors, depending on their level. The monsters spawning in these dungeons were mostly just random monsters, but by going deeper into them one would also be able to encounter highly dangerous demons.

And obviously, their academy happened to have acquired the possession of three different beginner-level dungeons, that were located around the same place.

Thus their academy had set up a camp near these dungeons and each first-year class would make a trip to these dungeons at least once in that year.

As the students heard that, they were excited, all happy to get the possibility of leveling up and finally fighting for the first time.

Even Aiko and Eichi couldn’t await for the trip and to kill all those monsters.

Knowing all that and being so excited, the rest of the day flew by as if in a flash.

Before they left, professor Pertina told them all the necessary information for the trip.

As the trip itself would take at least a few hours, they decided on meeting in front of the academy rather early in the morning. Around 6 a.m. was the time of their meeting. The trip would take them 5 and a half hours, which was perfect so that they could enjoy a meal right after arriving at the camp.

Anyways, after shortly talking about that, they were allowed to go home, and so they did.

Arriving at home, Hiroki and his friends once again talked about the trip. His friends expressed their happiness about being able to punch some monsters to a pulp. Though their excitement slightly faded, as Hiroki told them that the monsters in that dungeon were really weak and easy to defeat.

They spent the rest of the weekend preparing for the trip. They trained in the gym, well, at least Aiko and Eichi did so, Hiroki and Gaia on the other hand had private training sessions in their bedroom most of the time.

‘Man, if only I would also have a wife’ was the only thing Eichi and his brother were able to think of.

Later that evening, seeing as professor Pertina had told them about the obligated equipment the students had to wear when entering the dungeons, they asked Hiroki if he could create some for them.

Though Pertina had told them, that the academy would provide them with the necessary equipment, the students were also allowed to bring their own, as long as they already possess it.

That’s why they asked Hiroki because they hoped his equipment would be like some kind of godly treasure with all sorts of enchants and protections.

But Hiroki refused to give them equipment.

“No. Why should I? I bet you are only after equipment that will boost your strength and give you maximal protection… But let me tell you this, that way of thinking is completely wrong.

If you are always protected by something, then there is no way that you will get stronger. Only by going through pain and hardship, one can get stronger.

If you were using my equipment, then you would be strong, but the moment I would remove the equipment’s effects, you would be nothing.

And I don’t want that, as I want to gradually turn you into really strong guys, that maybe someday can achieve godhood.”

Listening to Hiroki’s points, they realized their wrong way of thinking. They accepted that they had to use the normal equipment.

Just like that, the weekend flew by.

On Monday at around 5.30 a.m., they woke up. They gathered around the table and started eating their breakfast. Ten minutes later, Yasuo hadn’t still joined them, thus they went to his room, to wake him up. But it turned out, that he had already left, seeing that his room was empty.

‘Well… can’t do anything about that. But at least wake us up the next time…’ Hiroki thought.

They quickly finished their morning routine, grabbed their bags, and then Hiroki teleported them to the academy.
