I don't believe that it really was the chaos attribute that I had to reveal...how the hell is that supposed to be my own trait?!
After revealing the chaos attribute, Jason had exposed every single secret, or at least the Inheritance site accepted that he did so.
As such, he was once again enveloped in white light as the space around him twisted.
Only a moment later, the already familiar robotic voice returned.
[3rd trial has been completed successfully. The number of unique traits exceeded the highest threshold. Congratulations; Superior achievement attained!]
[Teleportation to the 4th, and second last trial, has been initiated.]
[Fourth trial; Endure the ever-increasing pressure until you lose consciousness!]
The message of the fourth trial astonished Jason a lot because he didn't expect the trial to have anything to do with Pressure.
'Pressure again? Why are so many trials even focusing on this?...it's not like I can use it well in order to fight stronger opponents... But this time it probably includes all three energies releasing pressure…could this be a technique handed out to those that pass the trials as a reward?'
This would make sense, but at the same time, it was not worth being the main Inheritance. At least, Jason was pretty sure that a technique on how to release pressure was worth being the most valuable reward in an Inheritance site, yet not the main inheritance!
For the main reward in an inheritance, there were only a few things worth enough to be mentioned, including the forceful alteration of one's body structure!
As such, those Inheritances were one-of-a-kind, or at least very close to that!
However, in the end, none of that should be an issue for Jason, because his Celestia aura and Emperor Eyes were proficient in dispersing pressure around him as long as he wanted that to happen!
He was not sure how well this would work for all three energies, but he was not worried about it at all.
Yet, what made him feel a little bit iffy was the fact that the Fourth trial would only end when one lost consciousness.
With that in mind, Jason couldn't help but feel that something bad was about to happen. His eyes fell on Jennifer's silhouette further away from him, the moment he appeared at the location where the fourth trial was held.
No sooner had he appeared, the pressure of three intertwined energies enveloped Jason, forcing him to his knees before he could even react.
His muscles groaned and his joints creaked, and it was only when Jason was finally able to release the Celestia aura, followed by inserting mana into the Emperor Eyes that the pressure dispersed.
He knew that this was only a temporary solution, but it would definitely help him stay conscious for more than a week.
That should be enough to pass and enter the last trial.
Yet, this was not why he had entered the Inheritance site of the three energies, to begin with.
His reason had been Jennifer and given that she was endangered due to the sudden appearance of the Preactors.
As such, he had to report everything to her. He knew he wouldn't be a match for their strength but he at least hoped to stay by her side and possibly help her figure out how they could defeat the Preactors.
What he lacked in muscle he made up with strategic thinking so he hoped he could find a way out without being heavily injured, let alone dying in the same attempt.
Because of that, Jason got up from the ground, only to notice that the pressure on him was not completely dispersed.
However, it was not high enough to make him feel like he was suffocating.
Thus, he didn't bother to insert more mana into his Emperor Eyes.
Instead, Jason quickly approached Jennifer, who was fully concentrated while trying to endure and simultaneously comprehend the three merged pressures that filled the area around her.
Jason felt that the pressure in Jennifer's immediate surroundings was extremely strong, which was a bad sign, considering that she was likely to be facing four opponents that had similar combat prowess to her, soon.
The moment Jason appeared around Jennifer, her silver eyes opened instinctively as her reflexes took over.
Within an instant, her fingers curled around the two daggers in her hand, as she got up from the ground.
She released all three of her energies and disappeared from his sight.
A quarter of a second later, Jason felt a cold blade graze his neck as he heard a question.
"Who are you, and why are you taking on the appearance of my friend!?"
At first, Jason didn't understand what Jennifer was doing.
However, after a few seconds, he realised that she didn't believe that he could enter the Inheritance site owing to its requirement, which was logical.
Yet, it made the current situation a little bit more difficult to solve.
As such, he tried to speak, which was hardly possible owing to the blade that cut into his neck, causing a few droplets of blood to trickle down.
"Jen….mana fluctuations…"
Not being able to say anymore, Jason hoped that Jen would at least stop exerting pressure on the blade she held against his neck. Jason knew it pretty well that the strength she used was not something he could easily endure, let alone block.
He might have advanced to the Prismar stage, but he had a long way to go to reach her strength!
Hearing Jason's voice and his words, she couldn't help but look at his mana fluctuations.
However, that made her only more suspicious because Jason's mana fluctuations were truly exactly the same as she recalled.
Despite that, he shouldn't have been able to enter the Inheritance site, to begin with!
Yet, somehow, she felt that it was odd, and she retracted her dagger a little bit as she asked.
"If you are really Jason, how did you even enter the Inheritance site? This was impossible for you earlier!!"
Jason had expected her to ask a different question that only he could know the answer to in order to verify his identity, but that was not what Jennifer asked.
Because of that, Jason didn't answer for a moment only to blurt out, "After advancing to the Prismar stage, the Celestia aura swept through the temple and I felt the same suction force you felt. However, that was not enough reason for me to enter the temple inheritance because I don't have the innate talent of possessing three cultivation veins.
As such, I had planned to leave and search for my own inheritance, until four Preactors arrived, entering temple owing to their three cultivation energies!"
Being able to speak properly once again, Jason made proper use of this opportunity, giving her a brief summary that caused Jennifer to halt in her tracks.
In the end, Jennifer was utterly confused, but it was only now that she sensed his aura once again, and a moment later, Jennifer's eyes locked with Jason's as he turned his head towards her.
They were glowing in the overly familiar colors, and deep within them, Jennifer could detect kindness and all other emotions that had been hidden in the depth of his soul.
In her entire life, she had only come across a few people in her life whose eyes were the entrance to their soul, hiding or revealing certain emotions, and Jason was one of those few.
Adding his dense mana fluctuations, the unique aura he released, and the golden glow, she couldn't believe that he was not an illusion, let alone someone from a different race trying to mimic his appearance and every single characteristic. No matter how proficient one was, it was simply not possible to do something like this to near perfection.
As such, Jennifer completely retracted her daggers, giving Jason some space to breathe, only to hear him complain.
"Do I have to endure something like that every single time, I want to save you from a miserable death?!"
Jason's complaint confused her, but at the same time, she recalled what he had said earlier.
"What did you mean with the Celestia aura? That's not your aura, right? And who or what exactly are the Preactors? Did you see them, and how are you so sure that they will pass all the trials up to the fourth? The first three trials were already difficult, and I almost didn't make it out of the maze!"
Listening to her, he couldn't help but feel confused because she didn't even wonder how he had passed the trials while saying that the others wouldn't pass them easily.
Either she didn't notice that he had passed the same trials, or took him to be much stronger than he had believed Jennifer would.
In the end, this was not the important factor, and he also ignored the question about his aura, as he explained everything he had noticed about the Preactors.
This took him less than 10 minutes, and when he was done, Jennifer looked at him in doubt.
"So...you want to tell me that four Preactors at the peak Prismar stage, with three awakened cultivation veins, entered the Inheritance site that was created by one of their traitors, who stole something.
Other than that, it was just their punishment which forced them to obey their superior, who sent them to the Inheritance site to take their treasures back to their home planet that is also much better than Manyr?
...That sounds...very unique…"
Jennifer didn't even question whether he was stating the truth or not, and simply accepted everything Jason had said.
"Yes, and they're extremely dangerous because they seem to be filled with wrath, and act impulsive, otherwise, they wouldn't have attacked and killed prodigies at a gathering event….
That is under the assumption that what I heard was true!"
Jason felt like adding this because it was the major reason for him to follow Jennifer into the Inheritance site.
He didn't want her to be injured, let alone die because of the Preactors.
As such, he had planned to finish the trials and leave them as quickly as possible.
However, from the looks of it, the fourth trial was shattering his plan because they were unable to leave without losing their consciousness.
At that moment, Jennifer smiled schemingly as she said,
"If that's the case, let's kick their butts. If we cannot kill them, let's force them to lose their consciousness the moment they arrive...that is, if they're really as confident as you said!!"
