Chapter 5

"Hello?" Vlad called out.

He heard a rustling sound and then a familiar face appeared in front of him.

"Good day, Vlad," Ingka said. She was wearing her typical armor and her mechanic onesies outfit. This was a normal look in the wasteland since you never know what will happen.  The armor protected her from the most common threats.

"Hi Ingka, hope you are busy?" Vlad asked.

"Yes, I am. I'm working on a vehicle."

"Can I ask you for help with something?"

"Of course, How can I help?" Ingka replies.

I need some transportation. Dunkin at the bar said you could help me?

"You want me to help you with getting a vehicle?" Ingka then pointed at a few things she was working on. "I have a couple I'm working on. But I think I have what you need."

Ingka then proceeded to a covered object. It was under a pile of junk.

She then started slowly moving the junk pile to reveal the covered machine.

"This is something I was working on a few years back but couldn't sell it since it needed a strong rider and it lacked important parts. It also requires cyber interphase and a strong body to use it properly." Ingka mentioned with enthusiasm as if she was talking about artwork.

A quick tug of the sheets revealed it. It looked like a Motorcycle at first glance but a little bigger.

"Have you heard of mobile armor? This is a type of light mobile armor during the early days of the last great war. It has a travel mode and then an armor mode." Ingka said while walking around the vehicle. She touched it like it was a beautiful sculpture.

"It's a Model BA mobile armor generation 1 type-A, Ghost Rider," Ingka said while slapping the machine like a proud mom to her child. This was her creation, her baby.

"They were created because of the lack of resources. They were a way to move around fast and carry out attacks. Those who rode these machines were known as the Mobile Armor Riders. Nowadays they are mostly collector's items."

"How did you make one?" Vlad asked.

"Ah! I was lucky to find some parts on a salvage run. I already have schematics and blueprints of this model, so it was an easy fix. All I need is a power source to work on it," Ingka said.

"Do you have anything in mind?"

"Hmm... I guess I have two choices. Either I find something with enough power or I find a generator. Most generators are powered by nuclear reactors nowadays, making them hard to find.

"How about these?" Vlad then pulled out the Fangwing power source crystal which he was planning to absorb in case of an emergency.

"Those are perfect! Do you have more of those?"

Vlad nodded and showed her another crystal but a bit smaller. It was from the Six-legged Bison. He didn't absorb it all since he wanted to see if they had any monetary value.

"Alright, let's see how this thing works."

Ingka took the crystals and inserted them into the Ghost Rider mobile armor. After a few minutes of fiddling with the equipment, Ingka turned on the engine. It roared loudly and then the machine started moving.

"Wow! That is amazing!" Vlad exclaimed. "Now we're talking."

"It's still not in top shape. But you can take it out for a test drive." Ingka mentioned.

"I'll take it for a spin then," Vlad offered.

"Are you sure?" Ingka asked.

"Absolutely. Just tell me where we can go."

Ingka pointed in the direction of the nearby desert wastes.

"Wow! That is amazing!" Vlad exclaimed. "Now we're talking."

"It's still not in top shape. But you can take it out for a test drive." Ingka mentioned.

Ingka pointed in the direction of the nearby desert wastes. With a smile and a nod, she gave Vlad the keys to the motorbike.

Vlad mounted the machine and revved up the engine. He pushed down on the throttle and the machine took off. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until he felt something strange.

"Optimizing the vehicle, increasing stats. Five seconds..." GG prompted.

Vlad said while scratching her head. There was a pause in the GG prompt and then suddenly the machine moved faster. The noise of the motor got louder and its speed increased. Vlad was pushing down harder on the acceleration pedal and it responded well. Soon enough he was flying through the desert.

"GG! What happened?" Vlad yelled.

"Unable to process, please try again later. The system is unavailable." GG then said in a robotic voice.

"What the hell is happening?" Vlad screamed.

His machine was now faster than ever before. He didn't know what to do, so he kept driving. After a while, the machine stopped.

"Rebooting complete... System on the BA Mobile Armor has been upgraded to maximum." GG said.

Vlad looked around. He was now in an unknown place. He saw nothing but a wasteland for miles ahead of him.

"Where the hell am I? Where is this?" Vlad wondered aloud.

"System is unable to process. Location is unknown," GG mentioned.

Vlad was confused. He looked around and tried to figure out which way he should go.

He decided to head towards the nearest settlement he had seen on his machine's map.

Vlad then noticed a structure out in the distance near a distant mountainside. He focused on the structure since it was well hidden and found that it seemed to be uninhabited.

He started the Motorbike once again and headed in that direction. Since he was already here might as well test the armor feature of the Ghost Rider mobile armor bike and explore the area.
