Chapter 3

The wonder arrived at the bar and was greeted by Maisie. She handed him a new beer.

"Thank you, Maisie," he said.

"You're welcome, Vlad."

She then left him alone and he drank his beer slowly. He saw the bartender again and then started to drink more.

"Hey Maisie, where can you find a good gunsmith around here?" He asked her.

"I don't know about a gunsmith," she answered. "But I know of a place that sells weapons."

"How far is it?" he asked.

"About 20 minutes."

"Ok, let me buy you a round in thanks." He offered.

"No worries, your father always treated me well."

The wanderer went to the back of the bar and got a map of the city and looked at the places she mentioned. After he finished the map, he took the bottle of whiskey and poured it into her glass.

He then went outside to head to the place Maisie mentioned sold weapons. As he walked down the street, he noticed that the streets were quiet.

After a good amount of time passed he reached his destination.

He approached the gate of the house and it was closed. He knocked but no one responded.

He went inside the house and tried the door but it was locked. He looked at the lock and it looked strong. it must have been made by a master craftsman.

He then decided to check the back to try and see if anybody was there. As he looked around a girl who looked about 19 years was wielding something in the back area of the house. The first thing you notice is her flawless tanned brown skin which looked like porcelain when it was covered with her sweat. Normally you wouldn't notice it since she was covered in oil and dirt. Most have been from the machine she was fixing. She had purple hair and brown eyes. She had some tattoos but they only blended with her brown skin making them look like a piece of art.

"Who are you?!" She yelled.

"What are you doing here!?" He asked.

"This is my house and you need to leave!" she responded.

"I'm looking for a weapon shop," he replied.

"Why? Do you have a problem? I'm armed and ready to fight." she said.

"Not at all. I just want to get my weapons tuned up and buy some ammo."

It seems the girl wasn't convinced by his request.

"Look here, I'm just a wanderer looking for a weapon shop." He mentioned.

"Fine, look around while I finish up here. I'll get to you dear customer as soon as I can." She said with a bit of a sarcastic tone.

He checked around the shop but nothing caught his eye. There was nothing unusual or interesting that he wanted.

He then looked outside the shop and saw that the girl still tinkering with the huge machine. He then went back into the house and waited until she was done.

After about half an hour she was done. "Like anything while leading Vlad the Wanderer to another room," she said.

He followed her to the machine and noticed that it was powered on and was emitting light and steam.

"What's that?" he asked.

"That's the machine I was working on."

"Looks interesting." He replied following her.

She then moved to the side where a small counter was and proceeded to ask. "I'm Ingka Rosario, how can I help you?".

"Hi, my name is Vlad. I'm looking for a weapon shop." He replied.

"Well, I can take care of that." She said with a smile on her face.

Vlad then proceeded to take out his Rifle. It was a moded AK-47 with a modified magazine and barrel. The barrel had an attachment that allowed the gun to shoot modified air-burst rounds.

"Wow, nice rifle." She said looking at it.

"Thanks, it was one of the things I picked during my mercenary work. Made a few modifications to it." He replied.

"Can I see it?" she asked.

"Sure," he said handing it over to her.

She examined it and then handed it back to him.

"Glad you like it, it's quite old," he said while looking at the body of the gun.

Ingka then asked, "What do you need to be done to it?"

"Well, the trigger is sticking a bit and the distance finder is acting up. It sometimes doesn't detonate the airburst rounds on time. Aside from that the gun is working fine." He then moved the gun around seeming to expect it. "Can you do anything about it?" he continues to ask.

"Yes, I can fix these issues but it might be a bit expensive," she replied.

"How much?" he asks.

"It depends on what you want me to do. But it should be around $500."

"Just give it a tune-up and I would like to buy ammo if you have some." He mentioned.

"Alright, I'll see what I can do." She replied.

"What kind of ammo do you have?" he asked.

"There are two kinds of ammo, the normal one and the upgraded one.

"Any armor-piercing ones," He asked.

"No, but I can order it."

"I need several hundred for my Rifle. Can you get them for me?" he asked.

"I'll see what I can do. Might cost a bit more though," she said.

"Don't worry about the money he replied," Vlad responded since he got a lot of credits during his last work.

She then disappeared into the back and reappeared with a box of ammunition and a couple of magazines.

"Here you go, I even have a couple of spare magazines in case something happens," she said.

"Thanks," he replied then went to pay her for the magazines and ammo. He then proceeded to leave the gun to get fixed.

The wanderer then returned to the bar and drank some water before heading back to Eddison's house which was now his.

He wanted to get some rest since it was a long journey to get here. He went upstairs to his room and lay on his bed. He closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
