Laila behind the others.

The music her people played before her slowly dimmed.

The dancers gently made way.

The two women walked up front.

The derbuka slowed down, matching the beat of their footsteps.

Their ankle bells ringed softly.

The ney started singing.

No one could eat nor drink as they were captivated.

The tabla soon joined the derbuka, intensifying the beat.

The melody of the ney sang along the lute, joined by the lyre.

The image of a golden desert portrayed in their eyes.

High dunes and a harsh sun.

The smell and the breeze of the raging wind on everyone's soft clothes.

A sound suddenly stepped on the scene.

Ting

Ting

Ting

Pressing on their heart.

They raised their eyes, looking at a beautiful and soft pair of feet, white ankle bells wapped around them, walking to the middle, a black and golden silk robe trailed behind them.

They swallowed their breaths as their eyes ran higher.

Curvy legs. Voluptuous bottom. Small waist that looked almost unreal. A bust and shoulders drawing an hourglass figure. Soft, tender arms and hands with a shinning honey skin under the golden lights.

All whilst still hidden by the silk robe.

Men and women had their minds running wild, their mouths almost drooling at the sight of this erotic body.

Their souls and breaths were taken from them.

Hot-blooded, they all were.

Their eyes roze to meet her white veil, her curly eyelashes. Then her enchanting eyes that slowly opened as she walked to the middle.

Glasses shattered in the ground.

the soft sound of food hitting the floor.

Their mouths remained opened.

Eyes widened.

The music intensified, as did their heartbeat.

This radiant majesty.

This captivating divinity.

This bewitching beauty, started dancing, trailed by her robe and white cape.

No mere words could describe what they witnessed.

The word goddess engraved in their hearts.

She wasn't born of a human.

Their hearts already refused such a thing.

They forgot to breath until the last beat hit.

Leaving Laila, with a raised knee, her hands above her head while her fingers were beautifuly aligned.

The gasps she let out behind her veil took them by the throat.

Nobody said a word.

The room grew silent.

Laila stood up straight, looking at the obvious reactions of the charmed observers.

She raised her eyes, couldn't wait to see the reaction on the prince's face.

He didn't move from his position.

His hand holding the glass stretched out for the servant to poor him another glass.

His face was expressionless.

But it turned into amused as his saw his men and women falling for the goddess in front of them, still drooling over her.

He smirked with a sharp look.

Waved with his hand for the performers to leave.

Laila seemed dumbfounded and confused.

She couldn't believe he had no reaction for her dance nor for her beauty.

And he didn't spare her even a glance after she was done.

She was leaving the room, but her eyes were still fixated on the prince, who was drinking his glass with eyes clenched shut.

The dancers left.

The prince waved with his hand again all of a sudden.

Everyone from his people got up and left including his generals and servants.

He was left alone in the room.

Pooring his own drink.

He gulped down two more glasses.

He finally raised his eyes slowly.

Staring at the door she left from.

He cleaned his mouth with his hand as his stare grew colder.

He stood up and walked outside from the other door.

---

Laila was still stunned by what happened.

While she was surrounded by the compliments of the people around her, her ears were deaf.

Suddenly Aaliyah walked inside the room, asking everyone to leave to the dorms that was will be given to them.

Laila was left alone. Her thoughts still wondering as she stared in the mirror.

"Laila, Laila..." spoke Aaliyah in a gentle voice as she shaked her softly.

"Hmm," turned Laila as she was woke up from the trance.

She saw that everyone left already she got up too. "I am sorry I was jus-"

"You're not leaving," spoke Aaliyah with a weird expression, as if she was sad.

"What?"

"You, are not leaving, with the others," said Aaliyah again with an apologetic look.

Laila's eyes widened.

"Who, is it?"

"I also don't know, it came from another general. not my superior." Aaliyah really seemed unwilling. She looked around, suddenly passing a small knife to Laila.

"If anything, if anything happens!" She spoke as she held her shoulders. "You can use it. You are a slave, but only the prince's. Not someone else's proprety. I don't know why they are letting this happen. But be safe. Be safe!"

Laila nodded with her head while her mind went blank.

She held the knife and hid it under robe.

Suddenly a couple of knocks tocked in their ears.

Aaliyah turned, breathing heavily, tapping Laila's shoulder. "You can do it. Okey, Okey."

The knocks intensified.

Aaliyah looked at her in sympathy and walked out the room, closing the door behind her.

Laila could hear a couple of people talk outside.

Her hands started shaking.

She laughed at herself.

What was she expecting.

She was confident enough to seduce the big fish only for him to ignore her.

Now she's being called by someone else.

Her thoughts wondered.

If what Aaliyah said is true.

If the prince is really cruel he would forgive her for killing someone else who tries to lay his hand on her.

She is only the prince's slave.

Only his.

But, what if it was him.

What if it was him who's coming.

Her mind ran wild as her eyes trembled.

She turned to face the mirror.

Her back against the door.

Her fingers were fidgeting.

The room suddenly darkned.

She couldn't see well other than what was around her, brightened by a small lights stuck on the mirror.

She wondered why nothing happened yet, why no one entered.

Her heart was beating wildly.

Her breath hastened.

And soon did the sound of the knot turning wake her senses.

Her eyes turned to where the door is.

It was completely dark there.

She couldn't see anything.

She turned her head hurriedly to the mirror again, this time holding the knife closely under her robe.

The disturbing sounds of the door opening pressed heavily on her heart.

She was breathing heavily under her veil.

The sounds of footsteps approaching stepped on her chest, stopping a few meters next to her.

She was suffocating under the pressure.

Her shaking eyes looked at the mirror to see.

But only the shadow of a person's build was there. Staring at her.

Her body froze.
