Laila turned her head in frustration.

The female guard did too.

The other women finished dressing up.

Everyone joined the men and walked out of the prison.

This time everyone's eyes ran around the palace's interior.

Magnificient would be too little of a word. This couldn't be the work of a human.

A palace fit for the city of gods.

The female guard joined Laila's side, also running her eyes around the palace and halls.

"This shouldn't be your first time here," spoke Laila as she noticed the expression on her face.

"No, it isn-" she suddenly shut her mouth, staring ahead.

Laila followed her line of sight, finding Ahmed staring at them with the side of his eyes coldly.

They both froze.

He sighed, waving with his hand for them to continue and kept walking ahead.

The female guard bowed her head a bit to his back apologeticly.

"No, it isn't. But every time I can't help but wonder how our prince can be such an amazing person."

"Why? What does that have to do with the-"

"He designed it," spoke the female knight with a smile.

She continued, "This entire city, was designed by him."

"He seems to know how to do a lot of things." Laila didn't seem surprised.

"Hmm," she took a moment, "What's your name?"

"Aaliyah. And you are Laila, pretty popular among the knights."

"Me? Why?"

"The prince himself walked up to you to see your face. Even with the veil, I can already tell you are no less than a goddess."

Laila's ears became red. "Oh, thank you," shying away from Aaliyah's gaze.

"Hmm," she wanted to ask more. "What is, his majesty's name? And why did he take control of a city as the first prince rather than..."

Aaliyah took a moment, looked ahead at Ahmed.

Turned to Laila. "The first prince Kaysan. The oldest of the two heirs to the throne. was a kid who never cared for neither power nor the throne ever since he was young. Only the sword and his books."

"He joined the army at the age of thirtheen. And that's where his story unfolded. Making a name for himself with his unrivaled speed in the battlefield. At fifteen he could already jump in the enemy lines alone, carry out perfect assassinations. At sixteen he became a commander, then roze up the ranks in the spam of four years as he made the Kharrast kingdom triple it's territory."

"It didn't matter if they were men or beasts from the legends, he conquered them all. A truly terrifying man that was deemed the reincarnation of the moon god."

"At twenty he came back to the capital, swearing oath to protect his little brother and make him king as he wishes."

"The second prince Emyr, is a man of infinite wisdom and knowledge. Compared to his big brother who seems more on the brute side. But little does everyone know that it is the first prince who thought him. I was there."

"For as to why he is ruling this city. The internal strife started with the nobles and powerful families within the capital. As we all know how cruel the first prince is. His majesty is deemed dangerous to their benefits and plans. Using his cruelty as an excuse they shunned him from the capital while his father, his royal highness nor his little brother could do anything but watch."

"And our first prince, chose to comply in order not to start a revolution or chaos among the kingdom. Having to rule a outskirt city for all these years."

Aaliyah became furious as she kept talking, suddenly enraged. "Fucking corrupted nobles!"

Laila listened attentively.

All of a sudden Aailyah clicked her tongue and looked down as she saw Ahmed at the front looking pretty pissed.

He made everyone else enter a room with the guards.

He suddenly stopped Aaliyah from walking past him with the back of his arm on her armor.

She met his cold eyes and stood there.

He turned to Laila who remained watching them.

"Something?" He asked coldly.

Laila looked at the ground and followed the group.

Before closing the door she stared at his back while meeting Aaliyah's eyes that reassured her.

Laila entered, finding her people sat, getting their instruments ready if not checking themselves in the mirror.

The guards stood in front of another door.

"Soon his highness the prince will call for you."

They swallowed their breaths.

And soon enough they heard knocks from the door. The knot turning as it opened.

And then everyone was surprised by the loud sounds of music and laughter coming in.

As if they were holled up it all came to their ears at once. Then stopped.

Laila stood up, watching other performers leaving the scene with their sweat.

She didn't mind them, looked at herself one more time in the mirror, adjusting the white veil on her face, her black and golden silky robe covering her body, her white cloud capes falling off her hand.

Some of the dancers walked inside first.

While two women alongside Laila were left, helping her makeup.

She was really unwilling to be beautiful tonight, but for some reason she didn't say no.

She only danced rarely even in front of her family.

But she hated it.

And she hated even more dancing in front of that man that turned her family to slaves, even if it was the right judgement.

She couldn't help but blame him a bit for his cruel side.

Her thoughts started to wonder. But there was still a side of her that respected him.

But she hated it.

And soon enough, came her time.

Her eyes grew colder, as she stared at her fingers.

Thinking if she would poison them.

She was confident to be seductive enough to make him approach her again.

Only one scratch, she only needed one scratch and her family, her tribe would be free.

She shook her head sighing.

They would probably be executed first if anything.

She stood up, letting the other two woman go first.

Hearing the loud cheers outside.

She slowly walked out.

Blinded for a moment by the shinning gold and jewerly around her.

Her eardrums slowly got used to the lowd noises and laughter.

A huge room.

Men and women sitting on the ground over small couches with foods and drinks.

Some stood by their side like bodyguards.

In the middle and at the end of hall in front of her, she saw the shadow of the prince laying on the couch lazily with his knee up, and the other leg crossed.

The sounds around her slowly faded as she focused on him.

His arm laid on top of his knee, holding with it's fingers the mouth of a golden glass, moving it gently in a circular motion.

Her eyes stared at his dark brown skin, slowly rose from his huge forearms, his upper arm held by a golden ring that looked close to breaking, his round shoulders defined with drawn lines, his huge neck muscles, his fine bearded jawline, his prefect cheekbones, straight nose, sharp eyes.

She finally met them, his deep, abyss, dark eyes.
