Chapter 3: That Was a Close One

His his eyes scanned to surroundings but he knew there was no place for him to hide. They already knew he was up there so hiding was pointless anyway. However, he couldn't let them know about his changes. They had been trying for a son as they didn't want a daughter and to compete with the rest of their relatives.

Grabbing his clothes off the floor, he scramble to put them on. Just as he made himself presentable, the door opened, and his parents frowned at him from the door.

"We heard you scream. What happened?" asked his mother.

"I-It's nothing," he stammered out. "I just stubbed my toe."

His mother shook her head as she sighed. "You need to be more careful next time."

"You're already 13 years old. You should know better," his father chided him.

"Sorry, mother, father," he said.

As the door was closing, he could barely hear his father say, "That was such a girlish screen."

Ayo cringed but was relieved that he hadn't been caught. That had been a close one. The problem now was what to do about his new changes. He couldn't exactly go around saying he had been transformed into a girl. That wasn't exactly normal.

He didn't even know how to deal with being a girl. Girls were weird and strange creatures. He would know since he had two female cousins who were older than him. One of them even dared tell everyone that they weren't a girl and that they were a boy when they obviously weren't.

What's worse was that he needed to get ready for school. He could skip school now that his parents saw that he was perfectly fine. They would skin him alive if he did.

Covering his face with his hands he wondered why this was happening to him.
