After sitting on that root gasping in pain for ten minutes, she slowly stood up.

Then, she walked toward the river and picked up the backpack she had thrown at the beginning of the fight. It didn't take her long to find it. She picked it up with one arm and basically dragged it; she was that tired.

Without saying anything, she just staggered toward the shore of the river. When she reached the edge of the river, she crouched on top of a clear and still water body and looked at her reflection in the water.

Her face was stained with mud and blood from her nose, and her body was covered with dirt too. Her normally glossy and soft long black hair was tangled and dirty.

She looked miserable.

Tears gathered in her red eyes as the pain in her stomach, combined with all the scratches and bruises she received while tumbling around, assaulted her. She couldn't help but let out a muffled whimper, "It hurts…."

Nevertheless, young Tatyana didn't have time to cry, so she forcefully stopped herself and bottled her feelings. It wasn't a time to get emotional.

Tatyana silently cleaned as much as she could without losing focus on her surroundings. She feared for that fearsome wild boar to come back and attack her as she cleaned herself.

Half an hour later, Tatyana was able to clean her face, hair, and arms. During this time, her feelings also calmed down, and she felt more relaxed.

She didn't bother with her now dirty robes as she only had two more spares inside her backpack. Unless completely necessary, she wanted to save them for later. 'I'm not wet, so these robes should be wearable for a while.'

After standing up, she looked at the sword. The fight repeated in her mind, and she couldn't help but feel bitter, 'I can't even kill a normal boar… What will happen if I find a spiritual beast I read in those books? Wouldn't I die without knowing what happened?'

Tatyana couldn't help but feel powerless, 'They will probably eat me.'

However, her eyes filled with resolve the next moment. She prepared a place to rest for that day; it took her about two hours. She created a small fire since it was getting dark and placed one of the three fish she had caught earlier in the pan.

Then, as she waited for the fish to cook, she picked up the cultivation book and searched for a comfortable place to read it. 'Before I continue traveling, I have to become stronger.'

In that book, there was one more thing besides the method of absorbing energy. It was a special way to revolve energy, making it possible to create a powerful attack. 'If I learn how to do this, I will become much stronger.'

Tatyana picked up the backpack and found a place with a big rock. She sat on it and read what was written on the second part of the [Energy Vortex Gathering] method.

"Energy isn't just a way to strengthen yourself. It is something that can be molded to a cultivator's whims. With it, countless miracles, disasters, and impossible events can be created."

"Although the [Energy Vortex Gathering] method is just a middle-level spirit rank cultivation method, it comes accompanied by a powerful attack. Its name is [Spiral Thrust]."

Tatyana thought aloud, "Spirit ranked? If I remember correctly, the treasures are divided into Mortal rank, Spirit rank, Magic rank, and then the legendary Earth-ranked treasures. However, Earth-rank treasures are just that, a myth. Moreover, magical treasures are so expensive that you can buy a city with them... Or that is what Mom told me."

Tatyana was happy knowing the quality of the cultivation method. "So this was a spirit rank treasure! If I had known it earlier, we could have sold it for enough money to live our lives lavishly! Also, it called itself a 'Cultivation Method.' It turns out that I'm really cultivating." Tatyana became excited for a second.

However, her smile faded when she thought about her family.

After some seconds, she cheered herself again, "Well, I will use it for myself. If I want to take revenge for my biological mother, I have to become strong! Those bad people attacked her while she gave birth! I won't ever forgive them."

With that in mind, Tatyana read the Cultivation Book seriously for two hours. In the meantime, she ate the cooked fish, drank water, and warmed her body. The pain in her stomach also slowly disappeared. Tatyana sighed in relief, 'At least it wasn't a bad injury. My recovery speed is very high. I will be able to survive much better that way.'

Her stomach filled and renewed with energy; she picked up her sword and began training.

Thanks to her previous enlightenment, she had a good idea of how to use energy. It basically came naturally to her. But when she held the hilt of the sword, she suddenly wondered to herself, "What is the rank of this sword?"

After acquiring cultivation, she was able to distinguish the different auras of the objects around her. When she focused on the sword, the aura it emitted was much weaker than the Cultivation Book. It was like comparing a firefly with a bonfire, incomparable. Tatyana thought, "It should be a Mortal treasure. Or it may even be a common item. The strange feeling around it isn't much better than my pan."

Tatyana smiled wryly, "Well, I already have a good cultivation method. I can't complain, right?"

Driven by curiosity, she also took out her third book, [Novice Formation Symbols and Lines], and inspected it. "Oh, wow! The feeling around it is as strong and profound as the Cultivation Book! So this book is also a middle-level spirit-ranked book... Or something near that. I can't differentiate accurately yet."

Tatyana wanted to read it, but she knew that focusing on the [Spiral Thrust] was her priority. With it, she will be able to defend herself better.

For the next four hours, until the sky darkened, Tatyana practiced this skill repeatedly.

Since she had never had a cultivation teacher, she had to understand by herself how the energy rotated around her body and which paths the skill should take to be used.

Thankfully, her comprehension seemed to be somewhat high, and she could already see results. It was a strange feeling. It felt smooth when the energy followed the correct paths inside her body. Otherwise, it gave her a weird feeling, as if something was wrong.

'Is feeling these things instinctively normal?' Tatyana wondered. And although Tatyana didn't know, it wasn't as common for a cultivator to feel these signals so clearly.

Normally, they would discover if they did a technique correctly or incorrectly when they completed the cycle, not mid-way as Tatyana did.

After the two hours almost went by, she grabbed her sword and got in position. She hadn't completed the cycle once but mostly got the hang of it.

'I will do it this time!'

Her red eyes locked on the tree five meters in front of her.

Then, Tatyana thrust her sword toward a tree before her. Her energy moved inside her incomplete meridians and followed the paths written in the book. This time, the feeling was different from before. Not only did it feel smooth, but it also felt as if something was building up.

That build-up went to her arm and transferred into the sword.

At that moment, her red eyes flashed as the air in the tip of her sword spun rapidly. Tatyana felt energy leaving her body, and when her arm came to a stop, a spinning wind bullet shot toward the tree.

It traveled rapidly, so fast that Tatyana could barely follow it with her eyes, and impacted the tree with a loud sound.

*Bang!*

With the sound of a hammer hitting wood, a small, finger-sized hole appeared on the tree trunk, with the hole's surroundings shredded. Of course, Tatyana couldn't immediately see it since it was in the middle of the night.

Tatyana's breath was ragged as she had been training for the last two hours, but seeing the results, she had a smile on her face. 'I really did it! Hahaha, I can shoot wind bullets~.'

She approached the tree with eagerness and observed her attack. She could see that the wind bullet had sunk about fifteen centimeters into the tree. "So powerful! I could pierce a tree that deep with a single attack."

Then, Tatyana bragged to no one, "Maybe I'm a genius! I only took two hours to learn it~. With this attack, I'm invincible!"

After saying that aloud, her face reddened as she scratched her cheek, "Thankfully, I'm alone. That was embarrassing."

She looked at the sky and saw that it was already getting late. Therefore, she prepared the wood and fed the bonfire. She took another fish and roasted it quietly. 'A little snack before going to bed to warm my belly.'

Tatyana looked up at the starry sky in the silent night, thinking about her future. "First, I should find a town. Then, I will stay there for a while. I can work as a clinic assistant and earn some money. I've helped mom and big sister in the past. I'm sure I can work as an assistant with my knowledge, although I can't be the main doctor. "

Tatyana took out the Formation Book and opened it. Now that she had some free time, she wanted to read it slowly until sleepiness came to her naturally.

"Formations are geometrical shapes created to direct the world's natural energy in specific patterns. They can be composed of formation lines, symbols, directions, pillars, flags, rocks, energy cores, the natural geography of a place, and much more."

Tatyana silently gasped, "So many things."

Then, she continued reading. "A Formation Master is able to combine all of these elements to create a wide array of different effects. The effects can be anything as long as the knowledge to create such effects is acquired."

Tatyana's interest was piqued. She had always liked completing puzzles whenever Terrance brought some from the nearby town. The feeling of completing it was truly delightful and gratifying.

This thing called formations seemed very similar but much more complicated. 'But it also says that many years of practice are needed to learn it. I will take it slowly since I don't know if I will be able to learn about it.'

Still, Tatyana's eagerness to learn about it was high, so she passed the next hour reading the book. When sleepiness came to her, she moved to the place surrounded by bushes she had found before and slept.

She made sure to surround herself with her sleeping clothes and also created a natural bed to prevent insects and small animals from disturbing her.

With the sounds of the fire crackling, the sound of the creatures of the forest, and the comfortable warmth of the bonfire, Tatyana fell asleep.
