After an indefinite amount of time, Tatyana slowly opened her eyes. Her eyelids seemed to weigh a ton, making it strenuous to open them. Moreover, her body felt so tired that she really wanted to close her eyes again and sleep a little more.

However, the ruckus that entered her ears kept her awake. She could hear many of the townspeople's shouts and condemnations.

"Demon! Get out here!"

"Kill the red-eyed demon! Punish the demon that the Heavens punished!"

"Not even the heavens can tolerate her existence! We must make her leave our town!"

"Burn her with fire!"

"Take off her head!"

Tatyana frowned, not understanding what they were talking about. She mumbled, "Why is everyone so loud? And who is this demon?"

Two surprised voices spoke almost at the same time.

"You are awake! Are you okay, Tatyana?"

"Can you see? Can you speak? How do you feel, little sister?"

Tatyana moved her head and eyes to the side and hissed in pain. "Don't move, Tatyana. You were very badly injured, so your body is still healing."

Then, her eyes finally met with the two females in the room. Nevertheless, Tatyana's tired eyes opened wider because of surprise and shock.

The two women that she should know perfectly well were almost unrecognizable.

The normally healthy and cheerful Loreia had a haggard face, with her eyes bloodshot because of a clear lack of sleep and her hair tangled. Her body was thinner than before, and she looked frail, unlike the previous feeling of strength she gave. It was obvious that she hadn't eaten enough, leading to malnutrition. Tatyana could feel her heart squeezing just by looking at her. 'What happened to Big sister? What about mom- huh?'

Tatyana felt her insides churning when she got a clear view of Salia. She was even worse than Loreia, as even white hairs had appeared on her temple. Her face was paler than Loreia's, and her eyes were puffy and red. Her cheeks were sunken in, and her whole being gave a sad and pitiful feeling.

If Loreia made Tatyana feel bad, Salia made her feel extremely worried. She was scared that they would collapse in the next second.

Tatyana was alarmed and wanted to sit up to console them, but intense pain electrified her body the moment she tried placing strength in her limbs, making her shout. "Argh! It hurts!"

Loreia quickly moved to her side and pushed her shoulders with care to stop Tatyana from moving. Even when she was clearly exhausted, her care for Tatyana could be felt in every action. "Don't move, Tatyana. You were almost..." Loreia's throat choked, and she changed her wording, "You are too injured after the lightning struck you. We barely managed to keep you without permanent damage. We expected your wounds to scar, but thankfully, your body is recovering at inhuman speeds, so there won't be any scars remaining."

Salia nodded and said, her voice was weak, the same for her smile. "Yes. You recovering like this is the thing that keeps us going, little Tatyana."

Tatyana wanted to ask about their well-being, but the shouts coming from the outside made her unable to focus, so she asked. "Why are they shouting about killing a demon?"

Loreia and Salia didn't want to answer. The reason the townspeople had gone mad was because of the lightning.

Of course, if it were a normal lightning bolt falling, they wouldn't even react. However, when the Heavenly Lightning bolt fell, it carried an aura that gave the people in town a feeling of complete dread, as if some God was furious and shot that lightning to punish a sinner.

After knowing that it struck Tatyana, their messed feelings morphed from dread to an angry fire against the young woman. Thinking that this God would be pacified if she died or left the town.

Loreia said with a smile, "Don't worry, Tatyana. You just focus on your recovery."

Tatyana nodded and looked around the room, searching for the third figure. 'Maybe he is doing something?'

Tatyana asked, "Where is Dad? Did he go to the town or something?"

The moment that question left Tatyana's mouth, Loreia's and Salia's faces were filled with pain, and Salia almost broke into tears again.

Even though she had cried so much that there almost weren't any tears left, her heart felt suffocated and filled with agony each time she thought about him.

Tatyana felt something wrong, so she asked hastily, "What happened? Did something bad happen to dad?"

At first, they also wanted to hide this fact, but after their involuntary reaction, it would not be good to hide it.

Loreia said with a choked-up voice. "He isn't anymore between us."

Tatyana looked at the tears dripping from her mother's eyes and Loreia's expression, and her mind suddenly blanked. A sound left her throat. "Huh? What are you talking about?"

Loreia grabbed Tatyana's uninjured hand and said, "A terrifying lightning bolt struck you two down. We tried to save both of you. We managed to keep you alive and give you enough medicine to recover. However, Dad was infected by a strange poison and smoke, and we couldn't save him as we did with you. His wounds were also much worse than yours. He died two days ago."

Salia also approached and hugged Tatyana softly, "You've been unconscious for a week! I wouldn't have known what to do if I also lost you. Thank the Heavens that you are alive."

Tatyana, however, was slowly remembering the strange dream she had. The horrible things she saw, plus the powerful sensations she felt, began creeping up again like a nasty poison inside her heart. Nevertheless, there was one thing that came to her mind first.

She remembered what happened at the end when her negative emotions exploded. A black aura surrounded her, and she heard some kind of shout. Fear flooded her heart. Her voice trembled as she asked, "W-What color was that poison and miasma?"

They didn't understand the question, but Loreia answered nonetheless. "Black colored, Why do…"

Tatyana couldn't hear her anymore as only a ringing sound filled her ears. Her eyes were unfocused as she looked at the ceiling. Her body felt like it had entered an icy cold cave, and her heart felt like something was crushing it.

A single thought filled her mind.

'I killed dad.'

Tatyana didn't know what that black thing was, but she was sure that it came from her. Her mind then went on a tangent, trying to protect itself from collapsing.

The immortals of legends crossed her mind as she remembered the strange vision. Immortals that she had read about in books. Powerful beings who could flatten mountains with a single punch, create rivers with a thought, or reverse Heaven and Earth with their power

As she remembered more and more about her vision, It was clear to Tatyana that the woman with red eyes and black hair was her real mother. For her to be born in this world, that woman gave her everything. And at the end, Tatyana didn't know how, but she even exploded herself to create a powerful explosion.

'My real mother is an immortal.' Tatyana concluded.

She had always thought that it was strange for her to be born with black hair and red eyes in a family with only brown hair and eyes. Although having a child different from the parents was strange, Tatyana knew it wasn't unheard of.

Therefore, she never delved into it because she wanted to be their real child, the child of a family that had brought her up with enough love to bury her in it.

She always ignored all the strange things about her upbringing, trying to continue her happy life with her family. But this vision slapped the truth, the painful truth, in front of her face. And her thoughts, coming a full circle, were filled with three unbearable facts.

She wasn't their daughter.

Her real mother was dead.

She killed her loved adoptive father.

These three things swarmed Tatyana's thoughts as she felt her mind crumbling.

Salia and Loreia were panicking because Tatyana had stopped answering them, looking at the ceiling with unfocused eyes. They were calling her again and again, unable to figure out what was going on with her.

"Tatyana, little Tatyana. What happened? Why are you like this?" Loreia felt that she was going to go crazy. Why did her dearest little sister suddenly look like she was about to become mentally ill?

Because of her profession, she had previously seen mentally impaired people, and Tatyana was beginning to give these kinds of signs!

Her voice was choked up as she said, "Tatyana, please, don't go. Please... Wake up, TATYANA!"

Loreia's shout woke Tatyana's mind with a start. Her trembling red eyes moved as she looked at Loreia's and Salia's worried faces.

Her heart was messy and beating painfully.

She felt suffocated.

Everything was happening too fast for the young and inexperienced girl, and her heart became weak.

She needed answers. She wanted to breathe normally again. She wanted her heart to calm down!

The anguish she felt made her breathing more rushed, and the feeling of suffocation grew. It was as if enough air wasn't filling her lungs, as if the world was becoming smaller.

Tatyana hyperventilated and trembled.

Salia and Loreia were scared and began treating her while they spoke to her. "Tatyana, don't worry. We are here."

"Breathe in and out."

"Relax, dear. We are here with you."

Two hours went by before Tatyana returned to normal, or well, as normal as a young adolescent in her situation could be.

Then, she stayed silent and looked at both of them with her red eyes. Salia and Loreia could feel from the gaze that she was struggling with something, but they didn't know what it was.

After young Tatyana organized her chaotic thoughts, the first thing she asked was, "Why are the people outside shouting?"

She really wanted to ask about her origins, but she still couldn't grow the courage.

After hearing the same question again, Loreia snorted, trying to act like before. "Don't worry, Tatyana. They are just a little agitated because of the lightning. They will soon calm down."

However, Tatyana could clearly hear how they cursed her, shouted for her to be burnt, and to take off her head.

Loreia and Salia weren't affected by the terrifying Heavenly lightning because they had strong mental and loved Tatyana too much for them to be affected by it.

Tatyana looked at both of them, her face emotionless, and asked them questions. "When will I recover?"

Her voice was plain and calm, unlike her previous cheerful self. A change was ongoing, and the other two women didn't realize how this event would affect them until it was too late.

Salia frowned and answered, "I expected you to wake up a week later. So I can guess that your recovery rate had somehow magically increased. I expect another two weeks before complete recovery."

Loreia nodded, "You can rest peacefully, Tatyana. We will say something to the people outside so that they stop shouting."

Tatyana nodded and said, "Okay, thanks. Can I have some time for myself?"

They felt weird hearing her voice like that, but since a tragedy had just happened, they didn't question her about it to avoid digging into the fresh wounds. Therefore, they left her some space for now after leaving behind some sentences of comfort.

After they left the room, Tatyana looked at the ceiling in a trance for some seconds. Then, her vision blurred as whimpers escaped her throat.

Her cry was like a strangled creature, unable to cry aloud yet wanting to vent the powerful feelings inside of her.

Not much later, her cries slowly stopped, and her tired mind succumbed again to the sweet embrace of sleep.
