When she woke up, it was morning again. Her stomach felt empty, her throat dry, and her body powerless. However, Tatyana felt numb to all of it and just lay there, looking at the ceiling. She wasn't thinking about anything, just breathing slowly and waiting for some kind of stimulation.
Then, the scene of her biological mother's death flashed in her mind again. She remembered how she was attacked in her vulnerable moment, how she picked up a sword, for what did she use that sword...
'All of that was caused by that blonde woman.' Tatyana thought.
Right after that thought crossed her mind, inside Tatyana's red eyes, a seed that one day would blossom into a towering tree appeared. A feeling she hadn't felt before.
It raised like vile from the bottom of her heart, making her dull red eyes slightly brighter, 'Kill! I'm going to kill that woman!'
What came extremely naturally to Tatyana was murderous intent. It was small, almost insignificant, like a child looking angrily at someone that stole her toys. However, this was just the beginning; even if it looked harmless, this was the moment when Tatyana's murderous intent began to grow.
A murderous intent would one day swallow her enemies with a single look.
A murderous intent that would one day become as deep and fearsome as the abyss toward the underworld.
Tatyana's thoughts drifted again toward the maid that carried her away. Then, she remembered the unlocked cage inside their basement.
She was able to open it by chance when she was eight and was playing hide and seek with Loreia. At that time, she wanted to hide inside, but she was too big. Moreover, when she rummaged through the items later, she found three books, one pill jar, and one blue cloth with dark-red spots.
The reason this memory came to her mind was that the cloth was very similar to the one the maid in her vision used to wrap her as she escaped. Of course, it didn't have the dark-red color inside the dream. Now she knew the stains were most likely the maid's blood. 'That woman was truly determined... To think she continued running with those wounds. I wouldn't have survived without her and my real mother's sacrifice.'
Her thoughts focused on the books she found. The three books were titled [Novice Formation Symbols and Lines], [Energy Vortex Gathering], and [Cultivator's Anatomy].
Since she took them from the basement, when she was bored and wanted something to read, she would go to those books because they were the most interesting. Moreover, since eight-year-old Tatyana hid them in her room, they went unnoticed for a while. By the time her family knew she had taken the books, they didn't take them away because Tatyana had already owned them for months.
'That pill jar… I still don't know what it is. The maid consumed one in the vision, but the one inside the pill jar is different.'
Even if her dream was blurred, Tatyana remembered that the pill the maid had taken was black with some red spots. On the other side, the one in the jar was white and green and gave a refreshing scent.
Tatyana was unaware of Alchemy pills' existence since what she had learned was traditional medicine. To do alchemy, one must be a cultivator or have access to plenty of natural energy and know how to control it. It was an extremely difficult process, something that no one taught in the remote place Tatyana lived, much less practice.
Some families with high status knew about the pills' existence, but it was something mystical and unknown to the general populace.
The book that Tatyana had read the most was the [Cultivator's anatomy] book. Mainly because the other two had concepts, letters, and images she didn't understand or she directly couldn't even read. It felt as if her vision became blurry when she tried to read some concepts, as if something was missing within her to read them.
Then, Tatyana continued brooding and finally reached the thought about how to tell Salia and Loreia about the fact that she was the one that killed Terrance.
Her stomach churned, and her heart tightened just thinking about it. 'They've raised me like their daughter, and this is how I repay them? Killing their husband and father? I'm not worthy of their care...'
Moreover, there was another problem. The people outside seemed relentless as they continued coming to their house to curse, blame, and shout at her. Another fear entered her body after hearing the strong words and angry threats. 'What if they forcefully charge inside and hurt mom and big sister? If I don't go out, they may lose patience and enter forcefully to take me away.'
Tatyana thought about what would Salia and Loreia do, and an answer instantly popped into her mind, 'They would resist with all their might. They would try to protect me like before.'
Just thinking about that situation made her body chill.
After thinking about all of these things, Tatyana reached a single answer, something that would mostly make sense for someone in her situation. 'I should leave the town whenever I can.'
Tatyana frowned, 'But if I leave… Wouldn't they think that mom and big sister sent me away to safety? They may even redirect their anger toward them….'
Tatyana's mind spun as she thought of solutions. 'I know what to do.'
With a plan in her head, Tatyana began preparing her strategy to leave the town.
Sometime later, Salia and Loreia entered the room with food, unaware that their dear and innocent Tatyana was changing drastically.
Tatyana was powerless at that time, so even if she was nervous, they couldn't discern it because her weakness made her look pitiful.
After the first conversation went nicely, Tatyana gained confidence, and her nervousness disappeared, allowing her to act normally even after recovering as she hid her plans inside her heart.
Two weeks flew by.
Loreia and Salia sighed in relief as the townspeople slowly stopped their angry rants. Moreover, their attitude toward the two of them changed for the better. They weren't sure what caused this transformation, but they were happy about it and relayed the news to Tatyana.
Tatyana would always smile and answer accordingly while hiding what she really felt in her heart.
The reason for the change was obviously Tatyana. She had been using some written notes in her sister's handwriting to communicate with the townspeople.
Her handwriting was widely known since they would receive her medical recipes because Loreia was the town's doctor, so they thought they were speaking with Loreia.
This began the moment she was able to move, barely two days after she woke up.

Those notes had written on them things like. "Tatyana is threatening us so that we don't run away."
"Since the demon possessed her, she is too strong, so don't charge inside. She just wants to play family with us."
"She will leave shortly, do not provoke the demon."
"As long as you don't hurt us, she will remain calm and collected."
"Stop shouting profanities since she would abuse us when she hears them."
Although Tatyana's heart hurt whenever she wrote those notes, she didn't stop sending the messages because she saw that they certainly had an effect.
In short, the townspeople stopped going to protest at their house and slowly waited for Tatyana to leave. Those who came daily to guard the house were there just there to receive "Loreia's secret notes."
That day, two weeks after Tatyana woke up, the young girl threw the last paper ball when Salia and Loreia weren't near. It read like this, "The demon will leave today, do not chase after her. She will not harm anyone if you don't attack her. Thank you all for your patience and for not provoking the demon."
Tatyana looked out of the window with sadness filling her ruby-like red eyes.
She didn't want to leave the house.
She didn't want to leave her big sister's and mother's side.
Her dream had always been to grow old in this town with her family, helping her big sister in her clinic, maybe to have children in the future and peacefully live her old age, finally naturally dying surrounded by her grandchildren.
Tatyana's wish had always been a simple life. Away from any kind of conflict.
However, fate seemed to have something else in store for her. Her peaceful life was destroyed by a single lightning bolt. A phenomenon she didn't even know why happened.
Tatyana's heard the door open as she looked at the gloomy sky through the window in her room. 'One last thing left to do before I leave.'
Then, she turned toward the somewhat recovered Loreia and Salia. Their complexion was much better than two weeks ago, but there were still black circles below their eyes. Although they had recovered a lot since that day, Salia still had that lonely feeling around her. Moreover, even if Loreia was acting the same as before, Tatyana could also see that she was worried.
After that incident, it was as if it was easier to read their feelings. Like her eyes could see some kind of invisible aura around them.
'Will they remain healthy when I'm gone?' Tatyana didn't know how many times she had asked herself this question. Still, she thought that living with the murderer of their father and husband was worse. Furthermore, the guilt she felt whenever she received their love was eating her inside out.
So, today was the day she would ask the question she had been holding in and confirm if her dream was just a bad nightmare or reality. 'However, no matter the answer, I can't keep living with them.'
After Salia and Loreia entered, they saw Tatyana turn her head from the window, looking at them with those beautiful red eyes. However, they were emitting sadness and distress. As if something was calling out for help, but it couldn't express itself aloud.
That is why they treated her better than before and were trying to heal her mind with abundant love. They didn't know that this action only made Tatyana's determination to leave them firmer.
They ate together, and Tatyana waited for the end of the meal. Loreia said with a smile, "At least the people have calmed down. I was really worried that they would barge in."
Salia smirked, "They must have relaxed after so much time. See Tatyana? Didn't we tell you that they would relax as time went by? They are quite understanding when I speak with them through the door."
Loreia asked and snorted, "How so? I haven't spoken with those bastards. How dare they paint my dear little sister as a demon!? I won't give treatment to them even if it kills me!"
Salia chuckled, "Well, they say strange things like. 'Don't worry. Everything is going to be okay. You just have to wait for some days.' Or 'We will be waiting for that demon to disappear. We won't hurt any of you. We promise to protect you.'"
Salia tilted her head, "Although strange, they are somewhat understanding?"
Loreia looked at her mother strangely, "How is that "quite understanding," Mother? They are still cursing at Tatyana!"
"That's true, but at least they don't say things like they want to behead her least something. At this pace, we might end up regaining our peaceful lives."
Tatyana said, "Yes, they are getting nicer. Also, didn't I tell you that I don't care about what they say?"
Loreia said, crossing her arms before her. "Even if you don't care, I do."
Tatyana smiled and said with real concern, "Thank you, big sister. However, don't go out. Maybe they try to trap you and use you to lure me out or something. We have enough food to live for two or three more months."
Salia caressed Tatyana's black hair and said, "Don't worry. You've been reminding us constantly. We will wait a little more until everything calms down since we indeed have enough food stored to last us for a long time."
Tatyana felt her throat choking after she felt Salia's tender hand. She knew that she wouldn't be able to receive these caresses much longer.
Tatyana stood up from the bed and approached Loreia, "Big sister, let's bathe together! Also, mom, don't go to bed yet. I want to ask both of you one thing after bathing."
Salia nodded and winked at Loreia. Loreia felt embarrassed, but even if it was paler than before, her tanned skin made it hard for the blush to be noticeable.
