Chapter 25: Chapter 25 – You’ve Leveled Up!

After walking for a few minutes along the same path I used to get to the dungeon where I got Tsuki's ring, I opened my Status and analyzed it. I was on level 2. [ Level ] - 02 (45/200)

It would take me a few hours of hunting to get to level 3, as the goblins in this region give very few XP points. I need to find monsters that give more XP.

There are giant boars in this forest, but they are rare. I don't know how much XP they give, but one of them is enough to kill a whole group of goblins. Besides their physical strength and speed, they have resistant skin.

I don't know if I could kill them without a weapon.

"Maybe this will do?" In the nearest tree, I found a sturdy pointed tree branch. I could use it to hit the head of one of those monsters. "No, that won't work."

The skulls of those monsters can even withstand the impact of a sledgehammer.

"I guess I'll have to hunt goblins. If one of those boars shows up, I'll see what I can do. In the worst case, I'll just run out." But I am much stronger than before. With my skill activated, I might be able to kill it... I think.

"But it's good not to overdo it. Well, now, let's start our hunt. If I follow this path, I will find some group of goblins." I walked to the same area where the dungeon was.

And after walking for almost twenty minutes, the first group appeared—a group of four naked goblins.

"That's it." Two of them were holding iron swords. Even if the swords were damaged, it was enough to pierce a boar. I need to kill them and take one of the swords. I don't even need to activate my skill for that.

And after taking a deep breath, I attacked.

The goblins between the trees were taken by surprise. With my hand, I grabbed the head of one of them and hit it against one of the trees with all my strength. His head cracked open.

The other three goblins, frightened, became desperate and started to run away. I ran after the unarmed goblin and kicked him in the back, throwing him a meter away from me. He crawled on the ground and looked at me with teary eyes.

I just clicked my tongue and stomped on his head.

The other two remaining goblins held their swords in both hands and, with a look of fear, moved toward me. But they were clumsy. They were trying to run between the trees and ended up stumbling.

I smiled bitterly and ran between the trees with agile movements.

The goblin widened his eyes as I ran and raised his worn sword to attack me. But I hid behind a tree and deceived his eyes. Suddenly, I appeared again, punching him in the face.

I felt his jaw break, and the goblin fell unconscious to the ground.

I grabbed the sword before his friend approached and used it to pierce his back.

Already with a sword, killing the last goblin was easy, mainly because he was afraid. He pissed himself before I could kill him.

I got a little nervous from the adrenaline. But as I thought, these monsters are weak, so I don't need to be afraid to hunt them all over this forest. The big problem is the other monsters.

They are further away from here (besides the dungeon where Tsuki's body was), so they rarely appear in this region.

The three wolves split up and started running between the trees, trying to make me confused. And it worked. I couldn't keep my eyes on the three wolves, so I almost got hit by one of them.

With startling agility, one of the wolves attacked me. It sucked to fight in the middle of a forest. I only had a little space to avoid their attacks or to attack.

But luckily, I managed to attack somehow. The wolf's mouth came towards my arm, but I managed to avoid it, and soon after, I hit it on the head with the hilt of my sword.

The wolf cried and soon got up. I couldn't kill it since its friend had also attacked. It jumped towards me and aimed at my neck. But since my skill had increased my status, I could move quickly.

I swung the sword, and with one clean cut, I tore off Wolf's head. Its body fell toward me and almost hit me, but I managed to avoid it. Unfortunately, a good amount of blood had stained my clothes.

As soon as the first wolf died, I started attacking instead of being defensive. Over time, I began to get used to fighting on this terrain. I had hunted some goblins here before, so I knew how to move around.
