I'm one year old now and I have confirmed a lot of things.

First, the food here is actually better than that green goo, even if now I’m being forced to eat tablets and drink an orange bubbling honey like liquid alongside my food.

I actually love the orange liquid, I would drink more if they didn't restrict me to once per day.

Second, this is without doubt the world of Brave Path as the name of the game's factions is mentioned from tv and visitors, sometimes they use magic as well.

Third, my family is some kind of big shot over here but I don't know anything specific yet. There were some high-ranking looking guys visiting, the type of guys you would think say "Those measly commoners getting in the way of my plan" in some dark room.

I prayed that day for me to not be a villain, disappointingly I didn't get a trophy.

Since my family has some influence, the probability of me being related to the plot is higher and in that case I need to know what exactly is our role in the plot.

By the way, I’m still not allowed out of this room.

Is that normal?

I cried a lot about that but they either refused or bribed me with sweets to divert my attention, those cunning foxes even know my favorite flavor now.

Anyway, I didn't spend one year doing nothing and today is the day I’ll start the operation: “collect all trophies possible for my enjoyment”.

 

My target is the lady who always takes care of me, Anna!

Trying to cutely crawl towards her, I raise a happy voice.

"Anna, play this?"

"It's a little early for you Ten-chan, why don't we play with these blocks instead?"

"Anna, play this!"

"Look how colorful they are!”

She rolls a block on the ground but stops when she sees me starting to tear up.

She hesitated a little but… Success, now I can finally test my power.

I forgot to say but Anna is a woman with short dark green hair. I don't think she's a maid or anything of the sort but she has taken care of me since I was born and I’m grateful for that.

But, I'll kill my heart for the mission.

I only heard that voice about trophies once when I was born and assuming that's my power, I need to get more trophies and learn about them.

How do you usually get a trophy? By winning a race or a tournament of some kind. But participating in any competition with this body of a one year old is impossible, I can't even get out of here in the first place.

So I'm currently holding a simple game where you shoot at starships, the one who destroys more wins.

A baby game that has been around for this past year hidden under my cradle. I'm not gonna lie, I trained and studied to win this game against Anna for the past year and I'm almost sure I can win the first game even as a baby.

The first thing I did was test and research this game and I had a few interesting discoveries, for example this game is actually configured as a grid even if the grid doesn't show.

“It’s starting now, Ten-chan”

While I was reminiscing, the game began.

One ship appears at the corner and she shoots it first, then the second and third appear at the same time. 

I shoot one while she shoots the other. 

It's not looking good for me, the previous ships were on the left-top corner and middle, if my training paid off the next one will probably be at the bottom and right.

As I focus on the bottom it suddenly appears at the center-bottom and Anna, still faster than me, gets it.

Even though I learned some things about this game when I planned to challenge her, the difference is still bigger than I expected, her reaction speed is too fast for me to contend with and I don't have the muscle to maneuver as well.

It does feel like she could give me some leeway, since I am a baby here but I wonder if that's just a demonstration of her character being upright. I never see her having fun and she spends almost all her time here with me reading when I'm tired, playing with me when I call and feeding me when her wristband blinks.

Just what type of hellish job did she agree to do, was my caretaker scammed?

Continuing, the game won't repeat the same position between 4 ships but afterwards it becomes random again.

I made sure to start in a pattern of four ships first, that's also the reason why I won't be able to win after this first game.

Realistically speaking, I don't think I'll hit the next ship against her so I need to make the ship after my hit.

As the ship appears at the center-top, I don't shoot and start thinking.

Two ships should appear now, even if they can't be on the center-top there's a lot of squares left and I need to hit both, so I don't care about squares that are too far apart since I won't be able to hit those.

Now the choice is left or right, as the gun is already leaning to the right I'll bet on it.

Before the ship appears I shoot, another thing I trained before was the timing in which the ships appear so that I could overwhelm her reaction time, unfortunately I can’t get the correct timing to all shoots.

Seeing how I hit one, I shoot right below that and hit the other. Now the last one, it's most likely going to be left and bottom. I shoot once again before the ship appears. And I missed, I shot at the center but the ship appeared at the left-bottom corner.

Anna got it.

Since this game goes up to 9 ships, I lost.

Even after all that training and study about this game. Dammit, I actually feel like crying for real now.

"Wow, that was a good game, Ten-chan. You almost won, we could play again now."

It talked with me again, a female voice that seems to fill my mind with its mechanical, emotionless voice.

"T, Ten-chan are you alright?"

Apparently I'm crying right now, I guess it's because I'm one year old since I'm definitely not this emotional.

I got a trophy even by losing, either my power doesn't relate to the competition itself or it awards participation instead of pure results. I need more testing.

I didn't see the first trophy I got to compare but a window with text is right in front of me right now. It has what I assume to be the name at the top and a description at the bottom.

This name is pissing me off by the way, is it implying that I'm such a crybaby even though I'm an adult?

To my joy it seems like I got an active ability this time, I can instinctively feel how to use it.

The result doesn't seem random at least but I probably won't be able to choose what I get if it's like this.

Well, I'll try to test its powers later, for now let's stop crying and play around with Anna again.

 

Oh yeah and the trophy I got at birth… I wonder if there was competition at my birth or if it was something else.
