When I woke up today, whatever time that was, my mother was talking with Anna about something.

“Madam, does it truly have to be me?”

“It’s just us here Anna, no need for madam. But I didn't expect you to like him this much.”

My mother laughs a little as her hand squeezes Anna’s shoulder.

“Sorry but it has to be you, Ten-chan is going to be alone for a bit”

Anna comes up to my cradle and picks me in her arms, looks like I'm slightly bigger than her arm right now. Feels like I'm growing a little too fast.

“Sorry about this, Ten-chan. I'll be back soon.”

She slowly kisses my forehead and gently combs my hair.

Why does this farewell feel so dramatic right now? It’s true that she rarely leaves my side but there was 1 or 2 times in the past that I remember and there wasn't this much drama back then.

Leaving me behind, my mother and Anna walk out the metal door.

Alright, today I can finally test what exactly that trophy can do.

I'm glad that my <Utopian Will> is the type that gets new abilities, powers like that are definitely jackpots since they can grow indefinitely. If it was a power limited to one ability the only way to grow would be to train your mana so that you can pump more mana in that ability or to try and change your ability, I don’t know how to do that by the way.

In the first game only the protagonist has a growing ability from the start, the rest is hinted at in the ending after you maximize their affection that some abilities change to be growth types.

It does bring back memories, you could maximize the cast as either friends or lovers and that altered the <Utopian Will> they would unlock. Not only that, this hellish game also altered their <Will> based on what other characters ended up with and even in the order they were maximized.

I truly need to thank the hard work of fans in compiling a guide for that. I can't remember your name but you live in my heart.

Back to my power or more precisely the ability my <Will> unlocked, Soothing tears and Healing tears were their names.

I’m getting pissed every time I remember the embarrassing name of that trophy, I hope my power doesn't show trophies in the academy.

Soothing tears, just from its name I can assume some type of calming effect on the mind. The protagonist had a magic like that as well, that I can't remember the name of.

Nobody is in the room and for the past years I haven't seen any camera but I still go and pick my blanket, it has a cute bear stamped on its side, to cover myself up in my cradle.

Once I concentrate the power comes naturally to me. I can feel a flow like water in my body and from it a few droplets separate, coagulating in my palm until something drops out of it.

I expected to feel my hand wet since it said tears but it’s more like a marble instead of water, it does feel cold and much more malleable than glass, maybe closer to rubber. Different from the texture the appearance is like a beautiful jewel with swirling patterns of blue, cyan and white.

So, how do I use this? I knew how to make it but there's nothing instinctual about the use or its effects.

I strongly advise against swallowing marbles, especially if you are a kid.

In truth, the real problem would be my family more than anything.

The reason why I’m hiding as well is because kids, at the earliest, find their <Utopian Will> at five years of age.

Before that even if they are tested by <Wills> or use a peering waterstone the result is usually null, so what would be thought of me? A one year old with a <Will> and actively trying to train that ability.

I can't swallow this marble and have them find out later.

Putting that test for another opportunity, I think even holding this thing is giving me a comforting, nice feeling.

Decided, I’ll try to sleep holding these from now on.

And the last test, breaking it.

I wrap my blanket around the tear, I’ll call it tear from now on, and gently try to crush it. I’m pretty sure it’s not glass but caution is better than injury.

It breaks even with my meager strength and, in a surprising twist, the pieces start to inflate and vaporize as if boiling from the inside.

Once I breath the translucent vapor my mind goes blank, I start to feel relaxed and internally content like the feeling of peace and serenity.

I can even start to imagine a warm breeze, the singing of birds and flowing water slowly passing by my feet.

For what could have been seconds or minutes, I stayed comfortable like that.

Well, it seems like my mind is clear and energized for now. It felt like a dangerous substance before but, maybe it’s just like a cup of coffee.

Final analysis: it takes away the fatigue of the mind if inhaled, it’s good to hold and I’ll consume it when I can get away with that.

 

Now let's try the healing one.

I start to feel the same flow as before but this time it accelerates and starts to circulate through my body, its size decently decreases as something is being condensed midst the circulation.

A tear like before pops out of my hand, this time purely translucent with a single blue smaller ball on its center.

It's quite good, there's neither cold nor warm feeling to it and the surface seems more rugged than the soothing one.

Holding it seems to have no effect.

I'll break this one as well but should I bet on it healing me and do it in my palm? I should be able to hide a small cut and Healing can only mean one thing right?

I trust you, Healing Tears!

*Crack*

A sound I didn't hear from the soothing tear, truly like glass breaking and a translucent gel covers my hand.

The only unfortunate, or fortunate, thing is that my hand has not been cut. The pieces turned into gel once they broke, there's nothing happening except the gel starting to disappear.

Since this is the case the soothing tear probably won't hurt me as well and there are no sharp objects in this room.

First I'll produce another Healing Tear, a tear appears in my hand after a second of the same feeling, only this time the flow has barely any size left. I probably can make one more Healing Tear but the soothing ones are far less taxing.

And then I bring my thumb to my cheek with my index finger resting on my other cheek.

Alright, just be quick and painless. Nah, there's no way this will be painless Tenka but don't scream or someone will probably come to check your room.

Hyping myself up, I bite down.

The pain is terrible and even without thinking I already crushed the tear in my hand, the gel-like substance as if alive quickly wraps around my hand preventing blood from exiting the wound, I can feel the wounded part heating up and the gel hardens as it becomes like a glove.

A gamble but it was a huge success, it seems like the wound won't get worse than this and I can probably assume it disinfected the area to some extent with the heat.

 

I probably blacked out once I saw the results, since I woke up later to find my hand clean and the wound gone. Anna still hasn't come back so I didn't sleep for that long.

The Healing and Soothing combo seems to be pretty useful overall, I haven't tested it on other people but the effects shouldn't change that much.

My <Utopian Will> seems to be better than I expected, I would love to see what magic I can use with it. In the game there was a direct relation to the magic you could use and the characters <Utopian Will>, since mine is a growth type, maybe I can use all magic like the protagonist.

Well, his <Will> would be busted if it included the Load and Save function of the game.

Let’s pray to some god for that not to be the case, it was in the game's description of <Will> so I'm sure they must exist.

 

Anna got back late, like nearly a day late if my feeling is right.

She came near the cradle, staring right at me and combing my hair like before.

“Ten-chan, stay right beside your family okay?”

She stopped speaking after that and rested, seated near me instead of the door like always.

Whatever problems she has, would I get a trophy if I help her?

Useless thoughts for a one year old, but my birthday should be soon.

Even if they don't let me out of this room, mother and father always celebrate with me.
