Chapter -16

Tingling

With a crispy sound of a bell, the entrance of an aged wand shop opened, announcing the arrival of a new patron.

Olivander wand's shop, which is said to have been founded since 382 BC has quite high popularity among Britain's wizarding society. The art of wand-making looked quite effortless on the surface but it was as complex as creating a philosopher stone, this skill ran through blood or teachings only.

"Hello, is anyone here?" The black-haired youth asked as scanned his surroundings, the youth could only see the disorderly interior of the shop as shelves filled with boxes were placed in a strange formation.

"Let's wait a bit over there Little Noah, Mr. Olivander must be busy," as they heard no response,  Olive said while pointing at some empty chairs.

Both of them sat down and Olive began giving Noah her background about the books he had bought. At first, Noah wasn't sure that Olive would understand about it as she hardly looked like a studious Nerd girl type.

"Sister, which house were you placed in Hogwarts?" He asked curiously.

"Of course, I'm a proud Ravenclaw," Olive replied while taking pride in her house.

“_”

Now he apparently understood the true implication behind ‘Don't judge a book by its cover’ as he had thought of her as a Gryffindor's lioness or 30% of Hufflepuff cuz she looked too carefree whilst sometimes too worried.

"Sorry for making you wait for an old fellow." Suddenly an aged voice came from the shadow startling them, they quickly glanced at the source of the voice and saw a white-haired wizard standing there while holding an odd quill dyed in red.

"There's no need for that sir as we have just come a minute ago." Olive said politely.

"Oh, miss Maxmilian, Acacia wood, twelve inches and a half quarter long with Loyal unicorn's hair as its core." Olivander said as he got lost in his own thoughts recalling the uniqueness of that wand.

"Acacia is a very tricky wand wood, a wand made of this wood only allows its user to cast magic or if any other person uses it, it'll turn into nothing more useful than a drumstick most of the time."

Olive for a moment looked at Noah who was gazing at shelves, this Little brother of hers has casted a spell with a self-lock wand that opens in its owner's hand only.

"It's a part of me now." She replied putting those thoughts in the back of her mind.

Ollivander then turned back to Noah and said, " Now then let's get you a wand young man."

The old wizard stepped closer to him while picking a measurement tape from the table and said, " your dominant arm."

Noah held out his right hand and the enchanted tape started taking measurements on its own.

"Mr. Maxmilian, by any chance have you come in contact with a wand before?" The old man asked suddenly.

Noah get startled for a moment then calmed down as he believed that Mr. Olivander must be speaking about that acacia wand of her sister so he replied casually, "yes, I did use a wand today."

"Oh, I see." Olivander said while a hint of disappointment was visible.

He stepped back and strode toward the shelves while mumbling something, gradually picking three boxes from different shelves he came back and put them in front of Noah.

"Try this, thirteen-inch Alder wand and dragon heartstring as its core." Olivander said as he handed him the wand.

Noah carefully took the wand out of the old man's hand and before he could swish and flick the wand a warm aura started engulfing him and his hair started fluttering in the air.

'So this is going to be my second wand.' Noah thought as he recalled the scene where the main protagonist had the same background effects.

"Good, Good, Now try this Apple wood and thunderbird tail feather as its core." Olivander said as he took the alder wand and extended the new one toward him

"Eh."

Olive and Noah both got bewildered at Mr. Olivander's strange approach while thinking wasn't that wand supposed to be compatible with him as he had awakened those sparkling effects?

"What are you waiting for, try it." Olivander urged him so he took the wand and the same sparkly effect kicked in once again.

Now Noah got confused as he couldn't understand what was happening, the first wand which he had acquired from the system didn't set off any kind of effects but these wands were acting like they had found a long-lost friend.

"This too." Olivander said as he extended the last wand toward him.

“_”

"Excuse me Mr. Olivander, can you tell me what's happening?" Olive asked worriedly as she already had problems to face so she didn't want to invite unnecessary troubles any further.

"No, there's no problem Miss Maxmilian but a good finding, this young man here is being accepted by those all tricky wands but according to wandlore that's supposed to be impossible as they had different requirements." Olivander said as he looked at Noah with a curious gaze.

"Why is that impossible, sir?" Noah asked, who was now curious about how these things turned out to be.

"Child, I don't know about those complex things even as I've lived this age but one thing which is engraved in every wandmaker's heart is that The wand chooses its owner, not the other way around." Olivander said disappointedly.

"And if the wand chooses its owner then it won't show its full potential if its wielder uses another wand as there are some illogical proofs where wands strongly resist some incantation." Olive mumbled as she had heard those lines from a specific DaDa professor.

But the main problem was about to come if Mr. Ollivander blabbers anything unnecessary then she needs to take some disastrous steps but if this turns out to be a blessing in disguise then everything will be going smoothly.

Olivander who was still in a daze turned back to olive and asked as his expression turned serious, "Miss Maxmilian, I have got a request."

Olive clutched her wand and a red spark lit up on the tip of the wand which went unnoticed by both parties.

"Sir Olivander if this request is something of baloney then I would prefer to not hear it." Olive said straightforwardly.

"Hoh, it seems I've to pick my words carefully before speaking." Olivander smiled as he clasped his hand.
