Tae-soo motionlessly assessed the man that had approached him.
The amount of mana he had was 30 times more than that of Jin-hee.
At this rate he could become an apprentice wizard.
The man grinned and asked.
“You look like you’re quite skilled, are you thinking of taking on a job?”
“A job?”
Tae-soo very carefully coughed up his words. Luckily it was a simple phrase so he successfully pronounced it.
The man pointed with his finger at Tae-soo’s body as he spoke.
“Flaunting your strength like that, you’re doing it on purpose aren’t you. As far as my observation goes, you’re way stronger than I am, seeing as I can feel your power so clearly I mean.”
It seems he had detected the mana that was still circulating.
‘Well, I was just circulating it without any measures.’
The mana wasn’t flowing out to the surroundings per say but because the flow was extreme, it wasn’t difficult for wizards with sensitive detection to sense it.
‘Come to think of it, this guy also doesn’t have a core.’
This man, as expected, had mana distributed all over his body.
“Anyway, there’s one simple task so if you’re gonna do it, follow me.”
The man gestured with his chin to follow and walked off swinging his arms. He was surely a scoundrel from the way he walked.
After contemplating for a bit, Tae-soo followed the man.
He intended to listen to the man and do the task if it seemed worth doing.
Up till now, he had led a life of safety and peace but as soon as he arrived here it had become the direct opposite.
Tae-soo didn’t hate that. He somehow felt alive and bouncy.
The man entered a bar with a considerably fancy door. As soon as you went through the entrance you saw stairs that linked to the basement. They appeared to be made of big round slabs of layered overlapping marble.
Starting with the stairs, there was nothing average.
Following the man down, a somewhat long hallway appeared. The hallway was as complicated as a maze. And there were doors every so often along the hallway.
The man walked effortlessly as if he had the maze memorised in his head.
Tae-soo too memorised the route as he followed. It wasn’t exactly difficult. Since he could even reorganise the hallways he hadn’t gone down in his head, he could draw a rough structure of this entire basement bar.
Anyway, the silence in the bar was endless. It wasn’t that there weren’t any people, in comparison the size was ridiculously small.
Seeming to have sensed Tae-soo’s quick wittedness, the man who had gone ahead looked back and grinned.
“It’s a bit desolate isn’t it? Since we do business at night, it’s always like this during the day. I’m telling you, in the evening it’s so crowded there’s no empty rooms. We’re a tad famous in this field you know.”
Tae-soo just mechanically nodded his head looking at the man who had said that while smiling cunningly.
“Right, we’re here.”
The man opened the door at the end of the hallway and went in. Following behind, Tae-soo had already analysed that there were other people in the room and prepared himself in advance.
Since it could possibly get violent, he had organised his magic so that he would be able to use it anytime.
His heart raced. Tae-soo was slightly flustered at the combative spirit that had risen from somewhere deep within his heart.
‘Did I have this side to me?’
However, he soon calmed his heart and readily entered the room.
The gazes of those in the room simultaneously fixed on Tae-soo.
The violent situation that Tae-soo had looked forward to did not arise.
“Okay, okay, you’ll all work together so introduce yourselves.”
At the words of the man who had brought Tae-soo, a middle-aged man that was in the innermost part of the room bluntly spoke.
“Bret.”
He certainly looked like a middle-aged Korean uncle with his belly sticking out. However, the amount of mana he possessed was twice as much as the man who had brought Tae-soo here.
He had the most mana out of everyone here.
The introduction ended with everyone else saying their names. Their mana level was almost the same. Still, they had more mana than the man that had brought Tae-soo here.
Everyone stared at Tae-soo. Tae-soo said the name he had prepared.
“Ban.”
With that, the introduction ended.
Then, the man that had brought Tae-soo, pointed to himself and spoke.
“I’m Dae-hyeop Eom. Peculiar name isn’t it?”
Tae-soo’s eyes brightened at the sudden appearance of a Korean name.
The pronunciation was even the same. It meant that there were also people who used names like that in this world.
‘Or he had connections with Koreans that had come over from earth.’
Dae-hyeop Eom looked around at the crowd and then spoke.
“From what I can see, this should be enough so should we get moving?”
“Moving?”
As soon as Bret’s eyes flashed as he asked, Dae-hyeop Eom grinned.
“Don’t tell me, you thought the job would be near here? The ones who work in the centre are higher level people. Isn’t it a given that sketchy bastards like us would work in the outskirts?”
“We’re going to the outskirts?”
Bret’s face contorted.
“I didn’t hear anything about that.”
Dae-hyeop Eom answered with a grin.
“Come on, don’t worry too much. It’s not even outside the city, it’s just on the outskirts.”
“Just the outskirts?”
Dae-hyeop Eom chuckled at Bret’s sharp reaction.
“Why are you so on edge? It’s really nothing big. On top of that, we have the Valeon guild backing us. This is a commission requested by the Valeon guild.”
Everyone’s eyes widened at the mention of the Valeon guild.
Tae-soo especially, who didn’t expect to hear that name here, was even more startled.
‘I guess this connects like this.’
It was quite an interesting coincidence. However, Tae-soo was a person who believed that coincidences are results built upon necessities.
Perhaps, if you looked closely, incidents that would cause these kinds of coincidental things to occur would be neatly piled up.
While thinking that and stealthily looking at Dae-hyeop Eom, Tae-soo figured he had to quickly set his mana in order.
No matter how you look at it, he was not a trustworthy person. So, he had to prepare well in advance.
Dae-hyeop Eom urged them with slightly exaggerated movements.
“Okay, okay, in the meantime, let’s go. If we stay here longer the young ladies who work here will come and complicate things. And we stand out so it won’t be good.”
At the last words, Dae-hyeop Eom looked at Tae-soo.
Tae-soo was extremely good looking. It wouldn't be weird for the young ladies who work here to be drawn to him. So, they had to quickly leave.
Tae-soo also understood what the guy meant so he nodded his head and spoke.
“It would be good if I covered my face a bit, do you have a mask or something?”
“I do. Wait a second. I’ll take it as we’re all using masks then.”
Dae-hyeop Eom brought black masks from somewhere.
Everyone used the mask but even when covering his face with the mask you could still feel that Tae-soo was good looking.
Still, it was way better than him not using the mask.
“Right, if you’ve all put on your masks, let’s go. I’ll explain what the job is on the way,”

Dae-hyeop Eom grinned as he took the guys he had gathered today.
There were always not enough people at the outskirts of the city. Especially like the guys he had gathered today, finding guys to use as bait was particularly difficult.
Mana users who lived in the outskirts, that is, those who are skilled are sophisticated so approaching them half-heartedly could have ended in this side getting bitten.
So, the place to find people was the red-light district near the city centre.
He didn’t know about anything else, but it was a method that Dae-hyeop Eom, who was confident in his ability to read people, could use.
There were more skilled people that had no clue about the world near the centre than one would think.
And amongst those skilled individuals, those whose circumstances suddenly deteriorated commonly visited entertainment districts like these.
They had the thought that if they came here, they would find some work.
Of course, the rumours that brokers like Dae-hyeop Eom had spread had quite a big effect.
In order to monopolise it like this, they had laid those rumours down in advance.
When skilled individuals like that come to the red-light district, they exude loads of mana as they go back and forth on the street.
After motionlessly observing, if Dae-hyeop Eom approaches them and offers them a job, it’s a done deal.
He had rarely failed.
And today, his luck was especially good.
Because he had managed to bring 4 skilled individuals.
On top of that, the mana that the guy called Bret and the guy he brought in last called Ban was tremendous. They’ll probably be able to play a part.
With great timing, he had also received a request from the Valeon guild. Because what they wanted from Dae-hyeop Eom was efficient bait, it was perfect.
Dae-hyeop Eom stopped at his van and took a look at his party.
“Right, you can get in here.”
He signalled the driver who was already in the vehicle.
Once Dae-hyeop Eom had confirmed that all four had boarded the van, he boarded it as well.

“Amongst the organisations that work in the outskirts, there are those who draw in black magic.”
“Black magic?”
At Dae-hyeop Eom’s words, Bret’s eyes widened. And Tae-soo’s eyes were filled with intrigue.
‘Is there black magic then too? I’m curious as to what it actually is. ‘
Starting with Bret, the remaining two people’s faces went pale.
“Don’t tell me, you’re going to tell us to fight black magic?”
Dae-hyeop Eom grinned and shook his hand.
“Come on, I also have a conscience. The Valeon guild will handle that themselves. The issue is the organisations that draw in the black magic.”
“I bet they are dangerous bastards.”
“It’s an organisation called Shedim, and they’re not that great. The black magic that those bastards draw in is the problem.”
Bret tilted his head slightly to the side inquisitively.
“But is drawing in black magic really possible? They’re just monsters. If you really entered the city, it would instantly be chaotic wouldn’t it?”
“That’s because the Valeon guild finds out and moves accordingly. It seems there’s a way to control the black magic.”
Everyone’s eyes widened.
“Control black magic?”
“Well, as of now it’s just an assumption. However, it’s certain that they possess black magic.”
There was no way that the Valeon guild would make a move without knowing that.
“So, while we’re fighting this Shedim guild, the Valeon guild will be taking care of the black magic?”
“Precisely.”
The Valeon guild will probably not only deal with the black magic but will also gain information that will become the core in controlling black magic.
Bret put on a firm expression.
“you’re telling the four of us to go up against an organisation that draws in black magic? Are you joking right now?”
Dae-hyeop Eom grinned and answered.
“No way. Do you think I’m the only broker dealing with the Valeon guild? There will be at least 50 people gathered so don’t worry.”
“50 people you say……”
“Fyi, the Shedim guild is about 30 people. What do you think? It seems doable now right?”
Only then did Bret’s expression slightly relax.
However, Tae-soo who had watched all this lost more trust in Dae-hyeop Eom.
‘It seems like he was lying quite a bit.’
If you are well versed in detection or detection-related magic like Tae-soo, you develop the ability to read the other person's emotions or detect their lies.
The only things true amongst Dae-hyeop Eom’s words were that since there were other brokers working with the Valeon guild, around 50 people would be gathered, and that the Shedim guild really had drawn in black magic.
Tae-soo looked calmly at Dae-hyeop Eom and spoke.
“So, what is the commission payment?”
Dae-hyeop nodded his head vigorously and replied.
“That’s right. That’s exactly what’s important. 10 million gel per person. How does that sound? Quite good right?”
Tae-soo was not interested at all. Because he couldn’t assess how big an amount of money that was here.
‘Would it roughly be the same as 10 million won?’
Seeing everyone’s eyes widen at the mention of 10 million gel, it didn’t seem like a small amount of money.
However, with a slight tone of insignificance, Tae-soo asked.
“Do we receive the money first?”
Dae-hyeop Eom grinned and waved his hand.
“Come on, why are you being like this amongst fellow players? In this field, it’s obvious that money is given after the work is done.”
Tae-soo looked straight at Dae-hyeop Eom as he spoke.
“Based on what?”
“What do you mean based on what? I’m Dae-hyeop Eom. I’ve been in this field for 14 years. You think I would just embezzle 10 million gels?”
“How would I know? I don’t know what this field is.”
When Ban Tae-soo came out strong, Brett also stepped up as if he thought something was wrong here.
“I also think it would be good to receive the money beforehand. You never know. We’ve all boarded this car, we can’t run away or anything like that.”
As soon as the atmosphere turned a bit strange, Dae-hyeop Eom’s expression stiffened slightly before relaxing.
“There’s no way I would be carrying such a large amount of money on me. I’ll definitely give it to you once the job is done.”
Tae-soo smirked as soon as he heard those words.
And then, he gently nudged the mana that he had been circulating diligently.
The nature of the mana was quite rough and violent so handling it wasn’t easy however, since the moment he had entered the red-light district until now, he had constantly been nudging the mana so pulling out strands of the mana was simple.
It wasn’t even difficult magic. It was merely just magic that gave mana a sharp cutting force.
Swipe!
The hem of part of Dae-hyeop Eom’s shirt was cleanly cut.
And then at that moment, a thick bag dropped with a thud.
“Oh look, the money is there.”
Dae-hyeop Eom's face was distorted ruthlessly.
