Chapter 2: A Fateful Encounter.

On a tourist ship.

What appeared to be a lively banquet, turned out to a running course.

The passengers could be seen running away in panic, as their sight was cast towards the pirate boat that was approaching.

The pirate flag was a skull with a red heart in it's center.

As the pirate ship made it to the shooting range, it started a bombing operation ruthlessly.

Ignoring this chaos, an orange-haired girl that looks unaccustomed with the surrounding, looked towards the ship with ßerry shaped eyes.

Pirate ship = treasures.

The girl was clearly Nami.

Soon the bombing stopped, as the pirates finally took control over the tourist ship.

At the head of those pirates, a fat woman with ugly appearance and freckles all over her face, was holding a big black iron mace, as she looked at the surrounding with blood shot eyes.

She was the captain of Alvida Pirates, Alvida.

Seeing the scared passengers, she was in a good mood.

Turning her head sideways towards a short pink haired boy in glasses.

The boy bowed his head cowardly not daring to face her eyes.

"Coby! Who is the most beautiful woman on the sea?"

Coby paled in fright. As he was about to say something against his will.

Boom.

The sound of something heavy falls on the ground attracted the attention of the crowd, including Alvida.

A tennager in a straw hat, red vest and blue shorts along with a pair of flip-flop.

The teenager was fairly 'tall', nearing 190 cm, his facial features are handsome, despite having a scar under his eye, it didn't diminish his charm at all, while his ultimate eight pack abs along with his dog-like waist boosted his appearance all over by another notch.

The women on the ship couldn't stop their eyes from glancing over, even the sneaky Nami and the vicious Alvida stole more or less looks.

Luffy looked at Alvida with a happy smile 

"I don't know about the most beautiful woman in the world, but you are surely the ugliest woman I've ever seen."

The surrounding went silent.

His carefree laugh was resounding all over the ship, as the crowd watched him with various expressions.

Some were fearful, others were worried.

There are even some passengers who tried hard to suppress their laughter.

And of course, there are people who were full of schadenfreude.

Alvida's face turned green. His laugh felt like constant slaps on her face.

"How dare you?!"

The furious Alvida waved her Iron mace. The mace whistled due to its high speed as it moved towards the still grinning Luffy.

The little pink-haired boy casted a worried look.

The little pirates laughed loudly.

"He is finished!"

Luffy looked at the approaching mace strangely, only to raise his index finger in defense.

Alvida face grew more vicious, but the moment her mace collided with Luffy's finger, she felt as if she was hitting a mountain.

Her face morphed in pain, as her hands exploded with hideous scars, gurgling with blood.

The inertia from her attack almost abolished her hands.

She looked at the boy in fright and apprehension, the same for the eating melons crowd.

"You should leave the stage."

Luffy, while keeping his grin, he exerted more power on his finger.

Alvida felt her body lost its gravity sense, as she was sent flying miles away, only to fall in the sea.

Actually, Luffy in his normal form wasn't very strong. At most a little superman with abnormal resilience.

His devil fruit with its rubber features acts as a power multiplier, the same as domineering in the later parts of the story.

But after gaining the superman gene, and basking in the sun for almost 5 days, his body was clearly more stronger.

While, it's just two to three tons wrist power increase, it's already gratifying.

Looking towards the pirates that fall in the ground with fear, and some that jump to the sea fleeing, as well as the passengers that looked at him with hopeful eyes.

Luffy touched his stomach, as he inquired.

"I'm hungry. Is there some meat?"

The crowd were speechless for a while..

Under Luffy deterrence, the passengers bravely subdued the pirates.

A feast was soon organized as a thanks for his bravery.

Luffy's bottomless stomach shocked the crowd, as he was able to digest enough food for a month trip.

Luffy felt very fulfilling.

After enjoying a delicious meal, he decided to leave.

As Luffy prepared to leave, the short pink-haired boy that somehow convinced the angry folks that he is innocent, approached him cautiously.

"Aren't you a group with those pirates?"

Luffy asked playfully.

"I'm not! I'm victim. I was just coerced. My name is Coby, my lifelong dream is to become a navy. There is no way I'll become a pirate."

Coby shook his head desperately, as he shared his dream along with his name.

This sentence was repeated by him more than ten times today, so it feels very skilled.

"Navy, isn't it great? I'm Monkey.D.Luffy, the man who will become the Pirate King!"

Luffy laughed heartlessly, as he also shared his dream.

Coby looked at him in shock.

It was the first time for him to see someone speaking such an outrageous dream without any fear, embarrassment or doubt.

Pirate King, the world's enemy. Such a dream is almost impossible to realize.

But the man in front of him wasn't fazed the slightest.

He was also infected by this spirit unknowingly.

With a flushing face, he shouted loudly.

"I also want to become a Navy Admiral!"

But after saying this, he immediately regretted.

He felt like a fool.

Luffy laughed happily as he patted his shoulders.

But what he said next, made Coby felt shiver all his body.

"Admiral? This means we will be enemies in the future. But I won't lose. One Piece, I'm determined to get. Wether Admiral or Marshal, no one can stop in my way."

With a hand above his straw hat, Luffy said with a serious tone.

Coby watched Luffy serious performance, and his heart raced for a moment.

He can feel it. The man in front of him beside believing in his own dream, have a strong will that can even affect others.

An overflowing charm.

Even Coby felt for a moment that joining Luffy may be great.

But soon, he let this thought dissipate.

He also looked at Luffy with determination, as if affirming his dream once again.

"I'll become Navy Admiral, and I won't tolerate any vicious pirates on the sea!"

Luffy nodded casually, but didn't say much.

Although Coby is a promising man with good potential, and may even become Admiral.

However, the current Luffy isn't afraid of any challenges.

Even the current three admirals aren't enough for him to back down, not to mention a 'future' one.

After some chatting, Luffy decided to take Coby with him to the next Island.

On the other side, Nami that finished looting Alvida treasures, took a look towards the disappearing small boat.

Only to shook her head again.

'Impossible!'
